In movies if you don’t mention top tier colleges it’s not as captivating of a story. They need to mention college names that’ll ring the bell in most audience members’ heads
I can't remember the teacher's name, but she is hell of a mentor. She was capable to spot well enough their talents and tried to motivate them to follow that path.
I graduated in 2016 and i did theater my last two years.(techie always backstage) We did the first High School Musical as the winter musical my senior year. Every last night of every show our teacher would "present the seniors" where he would be do something similar to this but just our names. Rewatching this scene makes me think back to those moments and how proud of myself I was doing something really awesome.

Ok but like does Ryan Evans even need a scholarship? His family is literally RICH. Wouldn’t the scholarship be better for students that can’t afford college?
Ryan amd kelsy both deserved that scholarship, while Ryan in the first film wasn't a fan favorite, the choreography he did during the second and third film showed he deserved it. Also kelsy pretty much wrote 2 musicals, and a couple songs in HSM 2. She also deserved that.
Pretty sure it's a merit-based scholarship. That's why there is no income limit and therefore, everyone (including rich kid like Ryan) can apply for it. Other types of scholarships usually require income limit and thus, rich kid like Ryan wouldn't be eligible for it.
@@NaomiDollxoxo its easy to say that. however, that isn't how the world works. no matter how talented you are, without money, its near impossible to achieve your dreams. Its just another example of rich people continuing to get things for free that they could easily afford.
Am I the only one that’s disappointed Gabriela went to Pre-law? Can’t see her at all as a lawyer. I thought the writers would set her for a STEM career…
This scene is so special.. Anyone who grew up with this and in their school / amateur County Music departments, Drama departments and school shows etc knows the emotional pull this scene brings. Mrs Darbus starts it off so well: that look of an experienced teacher who knows her latest cohort are special and knows they're ready to go to the next stage... Always tear up slightly. HSM rwally was of those early 2000s such a special franchise for us as teenagers!!

My sister and I didn't like Troy's choice at the end it wasn't fair and he was kinda rude to his dad and Chad by saying they can't make up my mind but he sure let Gabriella pic for him which wasn't nice I mean rude right 🙄and I never liked Troy,Gabriella and kelsi I thought they were the real villains of the movie that's my saying, and I am glad they broke up

Pre-law is much more common as a track within a major than as a major in its own right... and Stanford doesn't actually offer pre-law as a major.

His PARENTS are rich, kids are not. And merit based is how it should be. Arts are based on TALENT. Talent isn’t financially based.
