I loved this scene, because it showed that he truly loved Lagertha and the life he had with her. All the people he truly loved was in this scene, in a time when he was the happiest with his wife, children and bestfriend.
The saddest thing is he didn’t even realise that while he was living it. None of us do unfortunately

Gyda didn’t get what she deserved in the series, it would have been nice to see ragnars daughter become queen in the end
I wanted to see Gyda married with Athelstan when she becomes an adult woman.
I always thought it was a huge missed opportunity and let down that we didn't get to see a daughter of Ragner grow up. Think of all the different things they could've done with that. What a bummer.

He was probably at his happiest when his life was at its simplest. However, he gave it up in pursuit of power and glory. And power is the greatest drug of all.
He wanted many sons and power well that came with a price. Nothing is free in this life.
Your right he did want sons and unfortunately Lagertha couldnt give him sons. He also wanted to be famous and for his sons to have the same fame and he lost Lagertha because of his desires. She loved him regardless but couldnt stay with him.
He just wanted more. It’s only human. No one realizes you’re living your best years while you’re living them. It’s only when you look back you really see it!

It’s sad how harsh he treats jido. And how he pushes her away. I hate it! Ragnar is an asshole. He made himself unhappy. It’s nobody’s fault Lagertha left him! Its his fault! A bitter pill for him to swallow but he chose that way
