This is a late comment but here's a tip on creating good looking silk wings: fade the under scales in a different way than the regular scales. Another tip: if u do bright colors then do the fading slightly darker then slightly lighter but if u do dark colors and u want to do fades then do fades from darker to lighter then on another side do lighter to darker then add some fades using different colors
