Wow. I’ve never seen such inefficient work. I love the French, they do so many things very good, but this isn’t an example of one of them. It didn’t help that I watched a bunch of German videos right before this. They are truly the kings of efficiency in Europe.
This cleaning was managed by city and state technical services. This is not exactly the elite. Don't judge the French through them. We also have excellent civil engineers, planners and hardware, but elsewhere ... in private companies. But be sure this video is, for me, as painful to watch as it is for you. Really painful.
It looks like someone got drunk at a local pub, and forgot where he/she parked their scooter. Also they need more equipment in the canal, two machines is not going to clean up all that trash.
Well, guessing by the amount of garbage an scrap in there that was probably the first time that canal got cleaned so they just where doing a lot trial and error.
I'm wholeheartedly convinced that every single person on this crew is witless & has no idea what they're suppose to be doing nor how to run the machines in which to do it with...they shouldve hired Andrew Camarata ...he would & could have made short easy work of that mess single handed. I know the truth is brutal, so grab a big ass spoon...cuz swallowing that truth may kill ya
They need to build a ramp so the trucks can line up to be filled. As your comments say they must be paid by the hour. What a lovely job to do well with.
I would move the mud away from the center of the canal towards the wall so that the water can drain off. Notice the middle of the canal is lower than the sides.

Absolutely ineffective 😮😣😯😮

Hey Boys, A much faster way to get rid of that mud and sludge would be to pump it out !!
Pump would constantly be getting blocked judging by the amount of crap in there
I was there last month. They still haven't finished.
work being done by the lowest bidder.............
Disorganized as hell need more scrapers etc to much fkin off
Sehr interessant, was da alles zum Vorschein kommt. ;-)

Seems there's a lot more crap still to shift!

there french that tells you all you need to know, the laziest people on the planet
These people cleaning out a dam versus all the comments saying andrew cant do concreting
Thanks a lot for taping editing uploading and sharing.
Watch this at 2x speed. Makes everyone look more efficient.

It just has to be government workers
I think the Three Stooges could have done a more efficient job.
What about sewage pump's ❓
Have they finished it yet 😮
Seriously ❓
I’m guessing the operators haven’t been around heavy machinery much!!
Painfully slow, indecisive, and down right inefficient use of the equipment!
City workers? Job security!
Must be on day rate
France! No wonder they are so dis-organized. A vacuum pump dors not care about bottles. Anything smaller than a 6 to 8 inch hose will be sucked up
il faut regarder cela en vitesse X 1.5 et tout devient normal .
the end result ???,..the water back in ?
The fastest way was: Make a ramp for the trucks en load them inmediately in the channel: But the French prefer the more expensive way.
or get a big front loader and scoop it up to make the provess faster
There were restrictions on permissible weight on the canal bed. The canal is 400 years old.
flierefluiter johnny the canal floor is not very strong, but I would recommend a d6 to shift muck
would mixing sand with the mud make it easier to collect

Would have been faster to let the bloke in the telehandler to load the trucks not the slow ass grab bucket!
That canal must stink!🤢
Даже дно бетонное,молодцы!Но в канал бросают так же как и в Российской Федерации....(
мышиная возня а не уборка
