I sprayed WD40 on the clips before putting the door panel/card back (someone on TH-cam uses a few drops of machine oil on each clip). Line up carefully (two people) and press in / little hit with base of the hand and you’ll hear it click in. Big problem I made was I didn’t notice there was a broken clip still in one of the holes!!! Make sure you have a few spare clips in case of accidents!
Thanks for the video, I didn't have the tool but improvised by sticking 2 flathead screwdriver tips into the gap and turned them simultaneously until the clip popped open.
Very helpful! I actually broke off the other part, the white one off the trim itself. It looks like ot is glued. I also ordered those clips, if you need some let me know :)

Helpful. Thanks. When did VW Group start using this style clip and are they still being used in 2020? Seems like there is room for improvement. In the good old days door panels and interior trim was held on by metal (unbreakable) clips or Phillips screws.
For me the beggiest problems is to put this special tool for retaining clips in gap between door and door panel. I can unpin maybe 2 clips? But others clips are too far to get them with that tool. Looks like i have same as Yours. Can u solve my problem?
Over-engineered, just like everything else Audi/VW makes. How in the world is anyone supposed to get those tools AND their hands behind a door card when it's attached in order to undo those clips??
