Though my daughter wanted to Medicine, which she could have easily got in a Government College with the marks she scored in 12th and in Entrance Exam, i advised her to choose Engineering.
One of the main reasons was, that for a brahmin student to get PG admission in medicine in Government colleges is next to impossible. ( She finished her +2 in 2001, got 200/200 in
Maths and chemistry, 199/200 in Physics and 198/200 in Biology. In TNPCEE, she secured 20 th rank for Engineering taking into account Entrance Exam marks and got 35th rank for MBBS after taking into account Entrance Exam marks. ) She finished in 2005, got a job in a MNC, working in USA in a leading bank. Though she was sad initially that I did not agree to her request, now she says that this was the wisest decision taken. Similar is the case of my first daughter. She finished her engineering in 2002 got a job in a leading MNC worked in USA for 10 years and in India for 2 years.
She later resigned to take care of her twin children.
    MBBS is a myth.

My sister passed MBBS in Bangalore 20 years ago and couldn’t get any decent job at that time itself because it was all saturated. Finally she worked in a hospital for 12 thousand rupees a month, 12 hours daily 7 days a week with 2 night duty every week. Finally she somehow got MD in pediatrics and still couldn’t get a job in Bangalore. Now she works in Mysore as pediatrician for 40 thousand a month . She is 43 years old. My 23 year old son IT engineer earns 40 thousand a month.

In medical the job satisfaction is higher.
I was a software engineer for 20 yrs and the job security is less in IT. For every recession be ready to be jobless. If the manager doesn't like you your efforts would be disregarded and the office policitics and exploitation of your hardwork is higher in IT. IT salary is called as compensation for a reason you would lose the work-life balance very easily. Some of friends lost their life due to stress.

@@sabarirajan5139 Its not so simple...Medicine is vast and ever evolving....so it takes time to get a hold of the subject and one needs adequate exposure to patient care before beginning to practice. It is the life of another person/child a doctor will be dealing with (and not a machine where you might afford to make mistakes) and hence need to be that much more aware of the subject. It is indeed an extensive period of training for doctors (but definitely lesser than US/UK where UG itself is about 7 years), but if we are given a decent stipend during the course, there will be some financial stability and mental peace to focus on studies as well ... that is my point of view. But everyone should understand that, that's the reality of studying for mbbs, that's why many would say do not come into this field without passion, its only for people genrally who are dedicated to serving for other peoples well being. But I still feel like from government side they should give something that's counts for ever doctors hard work, don't feel like it's appreciated that much.

Same as you,I joined the mbbs to make my parents happy and proud, which I have accomplished 😂. But in reality, medicine is for someone who is actually passionate and dedicated to it.
Well the college life aspect of it is second to none . If you get into a top college in your state, then there will be many programs and other events and enjoyment and also you will get best friends and friendship you can ever get and these friendship and relationship will be there for your entire life.
But at the same time you have to keep up with academics , and it's not something easy. Even if you missed studying for a day , that's going to give you some problems. A single subject is more than the physics, chemistry and biology of 11th, 12th combined and there's 19 subjects in the mbbs. And then there's PG, I'm seriously considering not to join for PG because I don't think I'm going to survive that.
If you are willing to dedicate your entire 20s into studying patiently with compassion then medicine is a good option, otherwise don't come. Once you joined , you can't dropout, or you will have to pay a compensation of 10lacs . And once you joined, you can basically forget about all your hobbies, and other things you want to do in college. That's impossible with your schedule. Usually the college hours is 8-4 ,but in my college it's 8-5 due to pending topics.
tougher than repeat, never-ending records, viva, exams, seminar, presentation, etc. I wanted to do many things in my college life, but that's all ruined. I want to quit, this is too much for me to take, but 10 lacks compensation . So please think before coming,

No offence but a middle class first generation aspirant but think twice not only about subject but job offers once he she finishes mbbs utmost necessity to pursue pg later in betwwen to help ones family economically or starting a family
Working in abroad would be easy with respect to duty hours salary stressfree comparartive to same one in india

Good content. Clearly distinguishes passion vs ability to crack competitive exams. Most in our society choose mbbs based on some forced dream from parents. Not something inspired by oneself during his/her education or inspiring personalties. But the ability to crack exams can be attained with faculties such as proper coaching and disciplined study schedule. However, that's not something that drives one towards happiness or future career. We need to measure passion and future goals for mbbs aspirants somehow, may be with sop or something. I think that should be an important eligibility criteria to enter these heavily funded and demanded study courses. 🤔

Read, Read, Read, Read, perform reading, mainly observe and express clearly on what you learnt and understood, if you have this skill naturally then join this medicine or doctor studies. Don't bother or think about earning while studying. Naturally when you have strong skill then money pours automatically. Top 1% medical college , YES , but it doesn’t have the top 1% students , all undeserving students get into top colleges due to reservation

Appreciate the unique attempt by youtuber , interviewing medical aspirants . Most of the students not being exposed that there are multiple courses are opened in medical department. Of course NEET is an evil forced on our younger generation , in a federals constitution. Truly this video is an good exposure.

Then show which profession gets settled soon? Brother in this modern world to much of inflation, recession everyday every domain is getting dimmed.
      Not only mbbs
But Atleast in mbbs people can i have statisfication in curing people
So please don't demotivate youngsters who wanna become doctor
All proffesion has hurdles to cross

@@parthiban454IT people need to relocate for earnings
So what about IT after your 50's
      Ask this question to yourself
Settled who,? People who spend based on their income?
People who have better investment plan, delayed gratification, better side hustle, better passive income is the one who settles
Just getting high income doesn't make you rich and stable 🤣

@@wowser2153 your logic doesn't work here
The fees for for each patient nowadays is minimum 150 rupees
Atleast doc if they see 10 patients a day with work life balance can earn 45k (note this is minimum also if they work extra they can surpass engineers three month salary)
Also IT is not long lasting also this 40k your 23 year old son getting is just salary not a self employed income
Doctors can work and also can make themself employed
😅 and it's not always about salary
      It's about balance
After some age your son can't manage his work life mark this
Also he need to get permission for leave holiday etc
And i won't trust your comparison
If your 40 year old sister just starts her Consultation from her home
      The game is different 😅
