This is why we can’t believe everything others say. There are many countries known ad bad ones, but in reality they’re not. Nice to see how you show the real daily life in every country you and your wife go.
Novi Sad is my hometown and it warms my heart when I see that you are having a positive experience here, taking the time to really appreciate our culture and breaking down old prejudice and the false picture painted by politics and the media. If you need any info, please be free to contact me, I would be happy to help if I can! :)
What I like about you is that you move from a country to country and you have fun and find good things in those places. Which proves that it's all about having a right attitude. No country is perfect and no country is completely bad! Love the video! So far, your Serbia vlog videos have been the most informative and entertaining. Have fun!
Great video, very informative. This is the thing I miss here in the States. The outdoor markets, the pedestrian zones, the cafes and outdoor restaurants and the people out walking(and wait till spring). Most cities in the USA, we just don't have this, in fact, most of our inner cities are unsafe. Serbia has a lot going for it if you don't want to live on the sea, but you have Greece, Montenegro, Croatia and Bulgaria(Black Sea) all near by to get your beach fix when needed, enjoy!!!
One other thing, if you live in the suburbs(which most Americans do), you need a car, everyone needs a car, kids too. You have to drive everywhere. You need space for the cars(garages), you need to maintain and repair the vehicles, gas them up and insure them and replace them. It's a whole industry I would like to live without.
Great info., unlike a lot of others we watch, you took the time to tell individual prices on common purchases. The walk through the area was beautiful, clean exciting city!! Thanks for your efforts.
I am so glad to see that you are having a good time in Serbia! And congratulations on buying a house too! If you have time you should definitely try visiting the south of Serbia that is also beautiful like Nis and Pirot, nature and cities are beautiful and it's also very safe! All the best!
You're right. Staring into the eyes of someone you don't know, random on the street, is not a "Serbian" thing. But you are free to contact anyone, but you have to introduce yourself first.
Always have in mind that Serbia Is a very old European country cespite all difficulties in the past. Always between East and West. Nothing Is accidently here. People are well educated and they.now English.well.because English Is mandatory in Every school at any University, on Every level + another European language My raccomandation Is check out Roman period or Medievale fortresses and monasteries of Serbia. Also check out Winter ski resorts of Serbia
Olon is nice and we enjoyed Ecuador, especially the Cuenca area. Take a few weeks to check out the country prior to making the move to locate the community best for you of course. You’ll probably love Ecuador, we’ll be exploring different countries in Europe for several years, we hope you’ll continue following along with us. 👍
I like your video and your comments. The idea of traveling around being pensioners is marvellous. Please check Turkey as well if you can. Its a beautifull coutry, I would like to go there one day, too.
We will get there eventually, we are somewhat trying to travel currently based on where we are allowed by Covid19 restrictions. We also want to avoid flying with the dogs so land borders are our targets.
Hi Warren, Your videos are very nice and informative. Your videos seem to answer all the questions I seem to have. My wife Florida and I would love to invest in a very small studio apartment as our holiday home. I'd like to please ask if you could recommend a website for that and also a reliable agent as we live and work in New Zealand. Many thanks CS (Chandrasekhar)
Serbia (and Bosnia and my Croatia) have invisible guards - a lot of honest and big&strong men...If anybody tries to rob or insult you on a public place - they will prevent it...No reason for police patrols on the streets. My hometown (Split - Croatia) is a very popular tourists destination, and I bet that 99% of tourists have never seen croatian policemen.
Do be honest it is not. Some cities in Vojvodina(Northern Serbia) are clean, but Belgrade and some other cities can be dirty...Serbia is well behind some other countries when comes to ecology.
Well it's not 100% true. You are not allowed to produce GMO food by the law BUT companies are allowed to import GMO food... I know, it sounds silly but it's true!
@@goransukovic8703 if you’re from Serbia you may not understand the perceptions that others have regarding Serbia. Some based on past perceptions, some based on Serbia being one of a few countries that still looks fondly on Russia. Many perceive Serbia to be something very different than the real Serbia. I wish to avoid political discussion here, but I hope to show the vibrant and softer side of Serbia to those that may not know the true Serbia. ♥️
We miss Ecuador and our friends there, but we are also happy to be moving forward with our travel. Serbia has been great so far, we posted a video on our Airbnb in Belgrade and another in Fruska Gora. We will do an Airbnb in Novi Sad where we are now and one in Zlatibor and another in Belgrade before we head to Macedonia.
For tourists its very friendly and cheap. The products (food, clothes..) are very good quality and very affordable for tourists. Its not like we hate everyone and everything (if thats like we are portrayed to the outside world). We are friendly and welcoming ! Ofc there are some areas of the city you should avoid, like in every city in every country but it is mostly safe !
Of course if more tourists come or people move to Serbia then more money enters into the economy and raises the economic strength for the country. The more people that visit the more familiar people become with Serbia and friendships are thus made.
@@WarrenJulieTravel Awesome, I heard that you can leave Serbia for a day or 2 than return for another 3 months. Do you know if that is true or not? Thanks

Sorry being vegetarian we didn’t spend much time around the meat area. There doesn’t seem to be a supply concern however. Nobody has brought that as a concern and restaurants and stores seem well priced. Actually they seem well stocked also as a heavy meat society. We have more concerns finding meat free food.
Short supply of meat :D ??? hahaha dude all we eat is meat and meat...This must been some shitty store with short supply.Regarding beef, its not so popular here like pork....Pig is the king of animals in Serbia. We dont eat beef like Americans do,like stake or bbq...we eat beef in long cooking meals. Our diet is dry or cured meat....meat and potatos ,some vegetables and ofcrs a lot of more meat and the most important thing is that non of the meat is GMO
Try small healty food shops all arround, there are many people in Serbia that are fasting often so its just a matter of finding right place for supply, and those are actually all arround. Me for example i have people that bring me organic vegetables from a farm near Belgrade. There are farms that you can visit and see how they treat their food. I suppose its not only Serbia, but when you go to some other place you just need some time to relink to things you have used to by your habbits.

My mom always said be wary of people that won’t look at you directly in the eyes. It’s usually a sign of insincerity or sneaky. Hmmm 🤔
I would think it's like that in all cities but in villages people will say good day.
