Great video and thanks for the tips on streamer fishing I’ve been fly fishing for a few years and have never tried using them but after watching this video I am going to try it next time I’m fly fishing thanks again for sharing 🤝🇮🇪👍
Great video, but... that loop knot looks wrong or something got edited out... after going through the hook eye, it should go back through the overhand loop before doing the twists and going back through it again? I also find that which way through the overhand loop matters to the strength of the knot too so it is worth showing that part if it was edited out. Unless it is meant to be a different knot that I haven't seen but I'll keep doing the lefty/non-slip I think
And some will only fish dries because that is what they like. I'm actually happy if I don't have time to go somewhere with fish to instead practice casting because casting a fly line is fun in itself, not just because it is practice. I do see your point though, and I tend to put a streamer on when nothing else is working or when the lake looks like a better option and drifting flies in a current isn't an option anyway and it feels like streamer conditions like targeting big trout cruising in the shallows at first light in Winter. So definitely not my first choice on fly. And I also use flies in saltwater when I know for a fact I will catch more fish on soft plastics because I like the casting, and the connection to the fish when they are on, so each to their own, I've caught plenty of fish in life that the process and the techniques matter to me
This is first class information. I was fascinated I didn’t know about territorial aspects in bait fish - and a knot! This dude is the best!
Great information. Can’t wait for the opener here in Michigan. I appreciate your content and delivery.

Wow, again and again, your videos are gorgeous in content and presentation, Simon! A joy to watch.

It's like having an old friend who's really good at fishing and you paid them a visit.
super informative, thank you.
Thank you
Another great video, thanks! Does anyone else hear 'Eyes with out a Face' by Billy Idol in that music?
Definitely hahaha
Holy shit if you hadn’t mentioned it I would’ve never realized. It’s like a rip-off of that song. Commercials do that all the time.
Happy Fish’n
I still need to get better at casting before I got something like that wizzing by my head!! haha
Ugh...being a beginner sucks!!
Don't worry, with practice you will improve! Have fun and good luck
Sometimes a smack in the head from a whizzing streamer is all you really need to learn from your mistakes! Speaking from experience haha.
Smash down the barbs on all your hooks and you'll be fine. We were all beginners, keep fishing, never stop!!
I wonder why rivers seem like an easier fish than lake trout. 🤔 every time i go to the river i catch em but at the lake i gotta really switch it up
Would all be so much simpler using a light lure rod, mono or braid and a spinning reel 😂
You are too simple to get it

😂😂 hucking big streamers is american as baseball and jazz.

Streamers work well for trout because trout are stupid creatures which think they are fish food.
Not the smartest are they.
As opposed to say a idiot..calling a fish stupid?
I have seen trout caught on a tugged floating matchstick.
Reminds me of a video where they nymphed with a bead head on a hook... and caught fish... presentation is everything :)
Great!
