The end result is a gorgeous finish! I laughed when you talked about the sewing clips ending up on the floor....I can relate. Ribbon is used to add strength to the connector, if you don’t use it then you only have two layers of faux holding the entire weight of your bag which can be too weak fkr a larger bag, you could use a four fold connector but that creates bulk behind the exterior fabric which looks unsightly. This is just the method I use,, , there are many different versions of this look,, if you don’t feel you want to add a little extra to your connectors,, then don’t,,, lol, I’d just rather be safe than sorry

Yes they hurt like the devil when you stand in them,,,, there are a lot of ways of doing these connectors,, this is what works for me,,,, x

No I tend to use glue stick or fabric glue, I’m not a massive fan of DST
