I think the situation with the SG position is partly (maybe mostly) influenced by the steep rise of 3 point usage since mid 2010s, around the warriors era. Everybody and their grandma starts shooting 3s, and a lot of players become much more versatile. Unless you're a center, basketball stars these days are usually versatile enough to play 2-3 positions. As such, a lot of PGs and SFs can roughly do what the SGs do for the teams and cover the role. That leaves the position partially redundant and as such, unless you have a defined star like Donovan Mitchell or Devin Booker, a lot of teams usually filled it with role-players to balance out their teams. Well, at least that's what I feel from watching the last decade or so from the NBA. It's not exactly bad per-se, just the evolution of the game I guess. Who knows what we'll get next.
Love your guys’ videos. I’m gonna listen on Spotify to boost your ranking. One thing that I think could be helpful for your position rankings going forward could be to meet beforehand and decide as a group the position of players who play multiple positions, for example Jaylen Brown being a SG vs. SF. I see him as a SG, but it would probably be helpful for y’all to get on get on the same page with certain players’ positions. Love your videos, favorite podcast out there
15:21 MO is speaking big facts. Basketball is position-less now and you can’t even be an effective player if you aren’t able to switch between at least 4-5 positions on defense without being a liability. It’s almost like playing pick up ball at the average LA Fitness. Most everyone is the same size. Makes the game more fun in my eye.
You guys should definitely rank best NBA beefs (MJ vs Isaiah Thomas, Larry Bird vs Bill Laimbeer, Draymond vs his teammates, Rasheed Wallace vs the refs, Shaq vs everybody)
It seems like people can just talk about Vincent, Strus, Martin like they aren't good. When they did their PG rankings Isaac had Brodgon, White and Smart all on his top 30 list Mojo had Brogdon and Smart on his list and Donnavan had Derrick White and Smart on his list so if Boston has all these talented players, and that's not including Tatum and Brown how does Miami beat the Celtics Vincent for example barely made lists (29th on Isaac's and 30th on Donnavan's) and I think those players are talented, another name not mentioned Grant Williams. When I watched Blake Griffin during the season he looked like he was playing good ball.
@@ieatpastal0l yea, what I was saying wasn't only directed at what you were saying. It was incorporating what the deep 3 guys had said. It just seems people are saying Miami undrafted guys are writeoffs, and can't be good. Then my question is, if all the Boston guys are highly ranked, how did a team that people writeoff even their players, even after they beat the Celtics, how can one say all those Miami guys aren't good. Putting Butler and Bam aside, they played Vincent Strus Kevin Love (who I think was waived) Kyle Lowry Caleb Martin Duncan Robinson Cody Zeller (who I think was either waived, or not signed to a team) Haywood Highsmith Tyler Herro (who was out for the entire Celtics series if I remember correctly)
the silencer was made up by nick van exel to basically signify breaking the backs(pause) of your opponents and silencing the crowd after hitting a dagger. easily top 3 most iconic celebrations and the fact that y’all didn’t put it S tier is criminal
Dort is underrated in my opinion. He's been a 40% shooter for a while from deep, and he's a great defender. Outside of drafting a couple of stars, the holy grail is finding a great 3 and d guy willing to play his role. Dort is definitely that for OKC.
They saying Curry's night night is ass is WILD, people everywhere in the world, in any sports, in any country, started doing that, even here in the Philippines like the kids on the court when they hit a shot and they just lay down on the court HAHAHHAH
It's hard to take the DLo "Ice in my veins" celebration seriously now since I can't help but now attribute it to Bruce Brown throwing it right back at him because of just how garbage DLo was during the Lakers series.
We got a surprise guest for y’all today 👀
😃😃😃
Eeeeee

Hell yeah baby
😮😮😮
You guys are so good. The only podcast I regularly listen to, your chemistry is immaculate, your takes are horrendous; this is peak NBA content.
Wow 😂😂😂😂
I think they have good takes, but yeah great chemistry, nba should be paying them
bad takes make it much more entertaining, but i wouldnt say teh takes are horrendous, only some of them
@@dodgerblue482 that's true, just some 👍

Love the podcast and the new effects and editing yall are doing.
Could you guys please do a episode with your top 30 NBA players of all time ?
Mo’s reaction to Isaac’s 30-26 had me on the floor
Mo came back from a 3-1 deficit compared to last week when it comes to audio and video 🤭 You guys look great, keep it up!
As a hockey guy from sweden, got really into the NBA in the last year and love the podcast!

Everyone had a valid list, so I can't complain there. The tiktok time was fun as hell, peak podcast content.
Issac putting Max strus into the list is like putting Jaren Jackson Jr in the top 50 best shooters in the league rn

I love the KCP fake news story and the three reactions. Mojo the duped. Isaac the debunker. Don in willful denial.
