Here are the 2k rankings for y’all’s No MVP lineups: 1. Mo’s Team: 71-11 (Lost in Finals game 7 by 2 points) 2. Isaac’s Team: 68-14 (Won the Finals) 3. Don’s Team: 72-10 (Lost in EC Finals to Isaac’s team) This completely proved me wrong cause I thought Isaac’s team would be the worse while Don’s was running through every team. But looks like Bosh wasn’t as much of a hole as I thought he’d be.
The fact that it’s the dead end of the off-season and y’all are killing it my guys 🤌🏾. Meanwhile, Isaac picked Steve Kerr for shooting 😏😮💨 I’m here for it lmao
14:13 Donnavan "I don't think we've seen anybody" The first 6 years of Al Horford's career he averaged 0.1 3 point attempts per game (and it's not like his mpg were low) The next 8 years of Al Horford's career he'd average 3 or more attempts every season. This last season he averaged 5 attempts per game, and shot an impressive 44.6% 3 point FG%
I meant to say in the middle there, years 7 and 8 were 0.4 and 0.5 3 point attempts per game. but anyways, a big shift in 3 point attempts for Horford in his first 8 years, and his next 8 years.
Don really does know ball the best of this group. Bridges is about that. Very underrated player and think he has the right take on Middleton. Also I share the frustration that kawhi and PG always go down when you need them and it hurts the team. Finally tatum has surpassed lebron as the best small forward. He’s a better shooter, better defender, gets to the basket just as well, better rebounder, only thing lebron does better is pass and last post season his age showed because he did have games where he was slower and didn’t perform after going all out and having a great game. Also, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, John Havlicek, and Isaiah Thomas have left the chat as well as a few others that could have had an argument
Jayson Tatum even to this day does not get to the basket better. He’s lowkey way too reliant on his jumper. The struggles he had in the 2022 finals are still the same struggles in the 2023 ecf. I’d take Tatum too, but just because of the youth and consistency. A healthy LeBron still has the slight edge just because of the rim pressure and playmaking and this year as a help defender he was amazing.
@@LearningHoops I disagree. Tatum averaged 2.3 free throws more a game and while lebron still has that athleticism, it isn’t what it use to be. Tatum also has mastered footwork inside with his euro step and has great finishing with either hand and his threat of being a better shooter also allows him to get a quick step on his defenders. If you want to say lebron is better I can’t say that’s a hot take or a bad take but I don’t think it’s a major difference. Lebrons help defense I wouldn’t say was amazing but tatums on ball defense is much better which I would rather have over lebrons right now.
I agree with Tatum being better right now, but Tatum absolutely does not get to the basket better than Lebron. The limitations on his passing and dribbling he does a decent job overcoming. BUT, the finishing is SO inconsistent. If he isn’t dunking that mf it’s such a roulette if he actually converts. There’s a lack of touch around the rim, especially when he isn’t using the backboard.
@@as5622 if he mastered that, why are teams still closing out so hard on him compared to other players? I know that Tatum has great shooting, but teams are willing to let him drive because it is easier to defend him. You can only do so much euro-steps in a game. He has great footwork, but not at the rim. He is not a threat as a post-up player (yet as I believe he will be if not soon, but in the future). I would take Tatum too over LeBron for the most part. I'd take LeBron tho especially deeper into the playoffs as rim pressure and manipulating defenses are so important in that stretch. Tatum is still figuring out how to balance his scoring variance as he is so reliant on his three ball. Look at all the bad games he has had the playoffs and you would see that the common denominator is his poor shooting especially in that game 6 against the 76ers but he made up for it in the end.
The thing about the top 5 discussion and the whole injury thing felt like don was judging on the things that did happen last season and seasons prior to that and made his list accordingly, while isaac and moe centered their list on what would be, if these players played all games at max health and max capacity. So just a difference in criteria.
I love Bridges. He's a monster, and his game reminds me of Kawhi. Efficient and deliberate scorer with lock down defense. He deserves most improved this year for sure if he can keep up his production or even improve.
Scottie barnes is a hard player to rank there’s only a specific amount teams that he fits well in tbh like true mid teams He like a worse version of Andrew wiggins
Kyle Anderson is underrated as hell he should be much higher his advanced impact numbers are light years better then RJ and Hunter. Most ppl don’t even realize he’s one of the best defenders in the league
No Dennis Johnson on the PG trait draft is crazy. You guys really overlooked one of the greatest defensive guards ever who was also an elite passer and finisher. I’d at least take his defense over Chauncey Billups. He’s also certainly in the running for best Celtics PG, glad Don brought him up there.
Quick question? When they were putting championship teams in the tier list, do they ever consider the playoff record of the team during those playoffs? Because the rankings would have been so different. Like the '08 Celtics would be ranked lower than B or C since they took 10 losses before an NBA championship.
Will you guys be talking about the World Cup in September and the games leading up to it? I know it’s not you guy’s bread and butter, but there’s gonna be nba players involved and some high quality basketball will be displayed for sure
2020 Lakers are A tier. 57-0 when entering the 4th with a lead, gentleman swept the entire west (greatest 8th seed ever, unguardable small ball Rockets, & the comeback kids Nuggets) and they would've beaten this years Nuggets that y'all put in A tier
I think OG could be higher in a different situation, or if part of Toronto's plan is to bank on Barnes taking a leap along with giving OG more of a focus in the offense. He's going to be a monster in the right situation.
DeMar dropped 3 pts only and that bc of a calf injury he had in January. He was avg 27 before that and Lavine was healthy this year and took a lot of shots Ofc his averages go down
People are saying Jaylen had turnover problems because it was the playoffs, when the Heat had time to dissect film, but after that game 7, it’s not like teams are going to have to rework their defences to force him left. Put your second best wing defender on him, and glue him to JB’s right side. I’d bet he’s working on his left hand, but again: forcing a guy left is one of the most mundane things any defence can do.
They should really revise the All-NBA requirement for the supermax. With injuries, resting players, and “superteams” you’re gonna get a handful of questionable All-NBA that’ll demolish a team’s salary cap.
I immediately realised donovan meant he nearly put Mikal over Kawhi and I'm not mad about it. The fact that Mikal doesn't miss games is kinda underrated. No matter what your goal as a team is, having a star player that plays every game of the season is extremely valuable. Kawhi is the exact opposite of Mikal in that sense. You know that if you have him, you will win. IF you have him. They could have won the chip in 2021 and they definitely could have beaten the suns last playoffs. But he didn't play.
the argument against harrison barnes here is that he’s getting paid $25m for 12 points a game when in reality he’s getting paid $17m for 15 points a game so i guess you can just say whatever you want now.
1:55:10 if the discussion was greatest playoff RUNS of all time, 95 rockets are S tier but as a team, they're lower tier fs. same thing with the mavs in 2011
