I understand why most people from the western countries say that EXO is underrated. EXO even barely promote in Korea and the only collab they have done so far was with Walt Disney for Star Wars promo which is the LIGHTSABER song. They didn't have US and UK promotion, debut and tours. But despite all that, not only Kpop industry but the whole S. Korean music industry acknowledge them as an all-rounded artist and legendary group. Even Billboard who were turned down for many interviews and invitation acknowledge them as the Kings of Kpop. Ur right, EXO is more than Kpop. A well-diverse discography as a group, with experimental music and trying almost all genre there is. With all members not only as an idol who can sing, dance and rap but are all individually talented models, musicians and actors (movie, drama and musical). EXO's music are unique and unpredictable as most musicians and PD described them "it doesn't sound like EXO but you know it's EXO". EXO is the only kpop group who is well respected and acknowledged not only by their juniors but also seniors and veteran singers, big personalities from different industries. That alone speaks a lot.

If all the other groups are talented, *EXO* are monsters, they got every thing specially vocals (all the members are vocally amazing, the vocalist can Rapp and the main rapper sing crazy) , they sing all music styles but officially they are king of RnB, also EXO's *Chen* has 4 octave vocal range can hit 5 female key, and as you see all of them are superb dancer,
PS: Korean Government Officially Awarded EXO With The Title “The Nation’s Pick” , they are the most awarded band in Kpop and the 4th in the world, kings of vocals, not well know in western country lack of promotion, hate SM

EXO is straight R&B. Can't nobody touch them on that as a group. The producers they choose to work with that create their sound are phenomenal. The same producers that work with black artists in the west produce their music along with Korean and European producers. They have the best discography in Kpop. The best... even down to the engineering. SM is spending money. Plus Queen Kenzie, lyricist and her Pen. I understand where you're coming from wanting them to work with western artists. I personally would like them to do it on solo projects. But believe me people know who they are by word of mouth. They're brothers from another mother. Errbody black who knows... knows.

I agree with everything you had to say in this reaction. I have been a kpop fan since 2009. I saw their debut in 2012...Kai snatched me within the first few seconds he danced to the song My Lady! Although in past American collaborations would fall through due to politics in the industry. Aka who is going to promote or list song on a title track etc. EXO recently went through drama with a western writer that helped with Love Shot. He claims he wasn't compensated and therefore shut down it's live promotions maybe a month after it dropped. I don't know if SM worked things out. I'm sure the guys are interested. Yet these and a few other incidents may take some time. Teddy Riley from Guy worked with SNSD and SHINee on a couple of tracks. He claims there were issue with SM also. The tracks were released and did well. Another soulful track from EXO is She's Dreaming and What If. Sorry I got long winded.😘😉

Sm definitely does not hate EXO. They are the money makers. And Sm is a company where they are smart with their money. They probably didnt promote them in the west because Sm wasnt offered a good deal. With BTS huge fame in the west its hard to push other groups in america. Like NCT for example. Sm is trying so hard to push them in america. And they arent getting a lot of recognition.

EXO is not underrated! They have a large fandom here in the USA many EXO-L’s are world renown. They have had world tours and toured the USA twice2016 & 2017.! They are not performing now as the members are serving in the Korean military. It is mandatory that ALL Korean men have to serve in the military before the age of 28 for 18- 30 months. 4 members are currently serving and 2 just completed their service. They dropped a new mini album July 9th 2021.. “Don’t Fight The Feeling “ it was completed just before Baekhyun & Chanyeol entered service April & May 2021.

some big american and british artists offer to work with exo but their stupid company sm decline the offer also a lots of big american recording label want to sign them and of course sm refuse all of them . they focusing on promting exo in china this is why they have a lots of chinese songs and chinese promtion . exo r really mistreated by their company and the member said it loud on a variety show and everytime i mention why don't exo do a promo in the U.S like a lots kpop groups do this days some of their fans get triggeredi don't know why ??

Is that so important to collaborate with western artists?? I don't think so, Western market is not everything on this world, #EXO are huge all around Asia. Why nobody mention that there's no english fluent speaker among them? They are about to learn, let's see what's happening next

Actually kpop is not a certain type of genre. Kpop is every genre you can put in. It's a term loosely used in Korea. I think westerners think kpop idols only sing pop songs but they do all genres.
EXO really like to work with western artist too like chanyeol he said that many times but SM turn down collabs and even guesting maybe because EXO is made for Korean and Chinese market even from the start the focus of EXO is asia but with the overflowing talent and big fanbase its hard to hide such a gem like them they are one of a kind for almost 8 years in kpop EXO still remain on top as one of the biggest group in kpop from thier debut until today. Even solo or sub unit they sale Millions. By the way EXO Baekhyun officially announce the 2nd and the youngest solo artist in south korean who got the title million seller artist after 20 years and who sold 16.6 billion won on his 2nd album delight joining his co EXO member the king of china Lay in the list of million seller in thier group aside that EXO is the youngest rookie group that time who got the title million seller reviving the drought in kpop after 12 years and still holding the quintuple million seller group title in kpop.
