What I hate most about our Hmong community; the older generation tolerating and accepting physical abuse and violence. Abusive and narcissistic men get away literally with everything. When an abused woman seek help from elders, she is told to keep quiet and tolerate the verbal and physical violence. If a woman calls the cops, she is considered evil and portrayed negatively. She is condemned and not condone from the community. That’s completely so WRONG and DISGUSTING to treat women as inhumane. What if women were the abusers?

Do Hmong people really need 30 cows for a funeral? I think this practice is ridiculous and stupid. When doing wedding, we don’t go all out but when it’s a death, we go all out. My dad passed away last year and the relatives did tried to scam my mom too but my mom is not dumb and we as kids also told her not to so we didn’t hand any cash money to the relatives.
