This is so beautiful! This is one of my favorite songs, too. I cry every time I hear those words, "Then they took his hands, his mighty hands, those gentle hands, and then they pierced them...and he let them, because of Love. " What a reminder, that he suffered and died because he loved us. His hands bled in the Garden of Gethsemane, and on the cross at Calvary, because he loved us, even the worst of us. I hope, as a Latter-day Saint, I am making my hands like those hands from Galilee.
I suspect you could sing that song very nicely Judie. There are so many beautiful songs out relating to our Savior. Things are tolerable and lonely . Tell Morrellyou that Sharon May's husband Paul has been in the hospital for 3+ weeks, and is now home. Also Maxine's husband Ray has some serious health issues. Pres. Holland recently gave a wonderful talk on the resurrection of the Savior. Take care of yourselves my friends. Neil
I heard"His Hands" for the first time on Easter Sunday during Sacrament Meeting. Tender Mercies from my Lord and Savior. I do love Him. My intractable and unceasing pain from arthritis melted as I felt Him lift and cradle me throughout the Service. My pain did not return until I felt him gently return me to my seat AFTER the very last note of the very last hymn and prayer of our Easter Morning meeting. ALL things are possible in Faith.
This song really touched my heart. I Ike the lyrics of the song. This helped me realize that Jesus Christ loves us all that he sacrificed himself for us to be saved.
His hands touched my heart as a small child. I would sit beneath them for safety when I felt scared. His hands healed me many times along my journey. His hands lead me to become a healer. Master teacher, healer and mentor. I will always remember I AM.
This is one of my favorite! I really apprecite the line that said.."...and then they pierced them, they pierced them, He let's them...because of LOVE! He allowed all hardships to come to HIM to fulfill the Father's will that we may be saved if we will follow Him! I'm grateful that Jesus Christ loves me so much...I'm PROUD TO BE A LATTER-DAY SAINT!
I love my Classic Rock along with all kinds of other music....but this song just reaches down inside of my and pulls my heart out, leaving me in tears.....to think that I'm one of the reasons He had to do what He did.....
What amazing thing he done for us and what a awesome God is we don't deserve nothing that he gives us but we get some awesome awesome gift from him thank the Lord thank the Lord he is amazing
This song never fails to bring tears to my eyes. The combination of the song and this amazing video makes me feel the spirit so strong. Thank you for posting this.
Thank you for sharing. I sang this song in my last week in my mission. It was a version in Portuguese. My gifted and lovely companion Elder Brown played the piano and I was generously invited to sing - may you know that I have no talent to sing :) 20 yrs ago. This song expressed the most deep spiritual feelings of my soul - the very imperfect man an his attempts to become and do what his Savior did. I know that my Savior lives. My soul knows. Now I know it much more, I understand better and appreciate in a better way this everlasting song.
Just saw your video and wept like a baby... Yes real men do cry. Thank you, and I will return often when I need the strength to make it through, realizing that there is someone who understands what this crazy life is all about.
Even if I am called Satan's Daughter, I still love this song. I cry every time I hear it and hope I can try to be the "angel" God supposedly intends me to be.
I'm not a big crier yet this song makes me cry a lot. Especially at the end...I can barely watch! Sometimes I turn my head and I just can't. A sinless soul had to bear the sins of others to take their sins away. He was the most perfect person in history and yet they crucified Him when today there's lots of good people and they're not even perfect but they don't get crucified (like me). We are all sinners and I'm ETERNALLY, IMMENSELY grateful for my precious, loving Savior! Thank you Heavenly Father for sacrificing your only Begotten Son and thank you Jesus Christ, for everything you have and ever will do for me. I wish I could somehow pay you back but I know I will always be in forever debt to you and yet you still accept me in Heaven. Wow. Thank you for this beautiful video!!!!!!!
I can listen to this incredible hymn all day long! Thank you so much for creating and sharing this beautiful music! It's soulful! She has an incredible voice! Very sincere and emotional!
You have done a beautiful job of showing the events that motivated Br. Cope's touching lyrics. This song has meant a great deal to me for many years. Thank you for matching its message and meaning with such lovely imagery. God bless!
I agree. I was recently gently reminded that our Savior was never dismissive, or condescending, and came to save the very people who reviled him. I will take your comment to heart, and strive harder to be like Him, and reach out in love and understanding to those who need it most, rather than trivialize or de-humanize those who are blinded by the adversary. Thank you!

Me and you both
If this video brings tears to your eyes, then if you watch a video called "The Lamb of God" that will make you cry. Just an observation.
I love my Classic Rock along with all kinds of other music....but this song just reaches down inside of my and pulls my heart out, leaving me in tears.....to think that I'm one of the reasons He had to do what He did.....

One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard....I love it. Our family has always enjoyed singing around the piano.
Even if I am called Satan's Daughter, I still love this song. I cry every time I hear it and hope I can try to be the "angel" God supposedly intends me to be.

Beautiful
Beautifully done!
Here are the lyrics:
His hands
tools of creation
stronger than nations
power without end
and yet through them we find our truest friends
His hands
sermons of kindness
healing man’s blindness
halting years of pain
children waiting to be held again
His hands would serve His whole life through
showing man what hands might do
giving, ever giving endlessly
each day was filled with selflessness
and ill not rest till I make of my hands what they could be
till these hands become like those from Galilee
His hands
Warming a beggar
lifting a leper
Calling back the dead
Breaking bread
Five thousand fed
His hands
Hushing contention
Pointing to heaven
Ever free of sin
then bidding man to follow Him
His hands would serve His whole life through
showing man what hands might do
giving, ever giving endlessly
each day was filled with selflessness
and ill not rest till I make of my hands what they could be
till these hands become like those from Galilee
His hands
clasp in agony
as He lay pleading, bleeding in the garden
while just moments away other hands would betray Him out of greed
shameful greed
and then His hands
are trembling
straining to carry the beam that they’d be nailed to
as He stumbles through the streets
heading for the hill on which He’d die
He would die
They take His hands
His mighty hands
Those gentle hands
And then they pierce them
they pierce them
He lets them
Because of love
From birth to death was selflessness
And clearly now I see Him with His hands calling to me
And though I’m not yet as I would be
He has shown me how I could be
I will make my hands like those from Galilee
Can you add an apostrophe in the word "I'll", please? Thanks.
I believe the original singer is Kenneth Cope. Either way, still beautiful video and song.
Amen.
He is the only One
