- 'Intermezzo' from Cavalleria Rusticana'
"Cavalleria rusticana " is an opera in one act by Pietro Mascagni, it premiered on 17 May 1890 at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome.
It was a sensation, with Mascagni taking 40 curtain calls.
At the time of Mascagni's death in 1945, the opera had been performed more than 14,000 times in Italy alone.

I played my Fender Stratocaster guitar, into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen USB Audio Interface, then into a 'Reaper Mixing Software' programme to record the sound whilst playing to the backing track of :- 'Intermezzo' from Cavalleria Rusticana'
Using Reaper & Guitar Rig, I produced the desired sound required and saved the finished soundtrack to my computer as a MP3 file.
Then I placed the camera footage onto the timeline in CyberLink PowerDirector19, 'BUT' I replaced the camera soundtrack with the 'NEW'
computer mixed soundtrack from Reaper and Guitar Rig, re-edited the footage to produce the finished video of :- 'Intermezzo' from Cavalleria Rusticana'

Hi Ian, " Interlude -- Rustic Cavalry " a beautiful piece of western classic opera played beautifully on the F S and with all the feelings and emotions expressed more beautifully through music than words was a Weekend bonanza. Variety being the spice of life. Guess all is well and winter has given way to spring. Here it's a cloudy Sunday morning. A very windy night here, leaving the birds to open up a new day with their songs of a better day to follow yesterday .
Weather definitely picking up now but still getting more than our fair share of rain on a 10° - 12° level.
Alway plenty going on here at the Sanctuary and this time of year always provokes visits to garden centers to view their latest array of plants for the gardens. Should be paying a visit later.

A beautiful piece of music and No1 on my classical hit parade. Loved playing it but like many others it’s very difficult to play due the timing of the piece. There’s hardly any reference points to play to until half way through. One you really have to concentrate on ……..Pleased you enjoyed the listen.

Hi Steve, many thanks for your response. I still wasn’t happy with the final outcome as I know I missed one or two ‘ in ’ points…. The timing was difficult so I’ve actually sat and done it again today and finally got it spot on. Trouble is what do I do with it now ? Maybe save it for next year.

Hi Ian, a beautiful rendition, I've always liked this class opera piece, on of those pieces of music, that make the hairs on your neck stand up, loved your take on it Ian , sounded really nice on guitar.

Hi Dave, without doubt one of….. if not ‘The’ best classical piece ever written.
I loved learning it….. ( with great difficulty due to not getting the timing spot on and it’s still not perfect ! )
I’m sure the purists would condemn it for a number of reasons…… but …. Let’s hear them try to play it.
