I seriously hope Aston Martin has some kind of plan in order to sign Verstappen in 2026, because seeing Stroll driving a Newey designed car is a crime in the making!
I think Vowles will sign Colapinto for 2026 at Williams for 2 reasons: 1 - Colapinto was rather competitive against Albon in Italy and showed a lot of promise, while Colapinto was barely behind Albon today after out qualifying him. Not to mention, in my opinion, Colapinto was doing better than Albon when Albon was given the better strategy. If Albon had been pit rather than running the smart massive overcut, Colapinto would've beaten him by a few seconds. 2 - Vowles is proud of the Williams Driver Academy. Very proud.
@@F-Duck1 I'd say Vowles would try to sign him for 2026 before Sauber has a chance to sign him for anything longer than 2025. Sauber would probably then get Bortoleto to partner the experienced Hulkenberg
You were right for Baki, nice performance from Ferrari. Hopefully in Singapore will be as well. Sad for Carlos, but we still can get constructors. Also, 100% sure Piastri will be champion one day, and a Ferrari driver, hopefully both at the same time.
my favourite part about that whole situation is that he manifested it once again. my guy was asked what the ideal situation would be after quali and he responded with "the four guys in front of me crash and we win". absolutely hilarious.
Norris recovered very nicely, pretty much as I expected in terms of position in P6 (until the crash at the end gave him some bonus points, which could be crucial in holding off the drivers behind him in the standings), but I wasn't necessarily expecting him to finish ahead of Verstappen, so that was a nice bonus! He did seem to spend a bit too long in traffic though, which has been a weakness for him I think. Brilliant drive from Piastri, it was a great battle with Leclerc. And well done Williams and especially Franco Colapinto, and another good drive from Oliver Bearman for a crucial point for Haas. Colapinto probably won't be on the grid next year, but if he carries on like this, he certainly won't do his career prospects any harm, whatever and wherever he goes on to race. I was expecting Red Bull to be stronger here anyway, they're typically very good here even though they surprisingly don't have a pole position! So any gains McLaren made were very welcome. And a little nibble on the championship lead after what happened in qualifying and taking a double-digit lead in the Constructors, I will absolutely take that. Based on past precedent Singapore's an even bigger opportunity (for both McLaren and Ferrari) to take a decent chunk out of Verstappen's lead. But again, I can still see Red Bull finding something and making the whole title fight moot.
@@F-Duck1 I looked at the standings using the old points system, so 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for the top 8, and at the moment the driver's championship looks a lot more realistic for Norris than it does in real life at the moment! Drivers: 1st Max Verstappen 117 2nd Lando Norris 100 3rd Charles Leclerc 90 4th Oscar Piastri 86 5th Carlos Sainz 68 6th Lewis Hamilton 57 7th George Russell 51 8th Sergio Pérez 51 9th Fernando Alonso 18 10th Lance Stroll 7 11th Nico Hülkenberg 6 12th Yuki Tsunoda 5 13th Alexander Albon 2 14th Oliver Bearman 2 15th Daniel Ricciardo 1 16th Kevin Magnussen 1 17th Franco Colapinto 1 18th Pierre Gasly 0 19th Esteban Ocon 0 20th Zhou Guanyu 0 21st Logan Sargeant 0 22nd Valtteri Bottas 0 Constructors: 1st McLaren-Mercedes 186 2nd Red Bull-Honda RBPT 168 3rd Ferrari 160 4th Mercedes 108 5th Aston Martin-Mercedes 25 6th Haas-Ferrari 7 7th RB-Honda RBPT 6 8th Williams-Mercedes 3 9th Alpine-Renault 0 10th Sauber-Ferrari 0 Under this system McLaren had actually taken the WCC lead after Monza. And it really highlights how much of a no-man's land Alonso's been in this year, as if the actual standings didn't show it enough already!
@@F-Duck1 I only saw the last couple of years with this system (a bit of 2007, and then 2008 and 2009), and considering how those seasons played out, it clearly did its job! But it had only been introduced in 2003, before that it was just the top 6 who scored, with 9 (10 from 1991 until 2002), 6, 4, 3, 2, 1. And in a field of 26 cars, scoring points was often at a premium for midfielders and backmarkers. The top 8 system's my favourite though.
10:20 end of 2023 yeah, I believed we can have a season like this as RB wasnt second ahead of everyone anymore. Its actually much more fitting for the first 5 rounds of 2024
Eh, I'd put Lando in more of a meh category. Quali wasn't his fault, as the data showed he was more than quick enough to make it into Q2, but the yellow flag in sector 3 ruined his chances. That being said, he still not only recovered into the points, but still managed to outscore Max. Not enough, and could've been more, but he still did pretty good considering the circumstances.
Not sure why everyone tries to push the narrative that Landos qualifying was on him. There was a lot of track evolution, so the final lap was important. And Lando was on for an improvement, that was good enough for him to get out. But because mclaren waited way too long to send their drivers out, Lando ended up having to abort his lap when Ocon caused a yellow flag… Totally avoidable for McLaren, I hope the team takes this to heart and doesn't do this to their drivers in the future… With the cards he was dealt by his team, Lando had an impecable recovery drive, real championship quality, still managing to close the gap on max and gaining an impressive 11 positions… Dude was cranking out faster laps on his 36 lap old tyres than Oscar, Charles, Max or Checo on their fresh hards, gaining between 3 tenths and 1.5 seconds per lap. This was no embarrasment for Lando, this was an embarrasment for the team once again, and given his race pace, this would have been a win. Another win that Lando couldn't take home because the pit wall still has midfield mentality. Oscar did his job. That's what McLaren fans want to see of both their drivers, maximise the result given the circumstances.
Fully agree with this comment. It was a scrappy Saturday for McLaren but a perfectly executed Sunday. Lando's always been one for a good chase but seeing him close in on Verstappen in 10 laps was something else. Oscar drove an impeccable race of his own, saw Charles snoozing at the wheel and jumped him and kept him behind masterfully for the rest of the race. All that said, the real highlight for me was albon keeping a McLaren and an Red Bull behind him for as long as he did. Outrageously good driving from him.
Lando definitely did not embarrass himself on Saturday. If anything he showed his strengths, gave himself some extra confidence, and did his job by beating Verstappen. Oscar’s win was completely deserved, but I definitely don’t think he outclassed Lando by any means. They were both in their own races and both did a phenomenal job given the positions they were both in. The only reason Lando was 17th was bc of the yellow. That’s out of his control and was not his fault
lando and lewis were "losers" if you go by how they ended up finishing but they both gained 10 places from the start to the end (8 places on their own and 2 cos of carlos and checo lmao)

Okay I still have some faith that this could still be our year (with a bit of luck) But definitely absolutely and with all the conviction in the world 2025 is our year
blud put lando who got from p17 to p4 in losers but put “ferrari” in winners with fu ing sainz who couldnt keep a straight line and crashed into checo who almost proved his worth at redbul team but naaahh sainz is a winner
When I say Ferrari I mean the drivers, the car, the team efficiency, the strategy, essentially the team itself so there are way more factors than just both drivers. And I stand by with Lando because he bottles too much because he could’ve won and with max in 4th or 5th, the gap could’ve been closed up massively but he fails himself again. And before you bring up the yellow flags, why was he 17th anyways
Charles should have attacked on the inside He tired time after time after time to roudn the outside and failed while he wasted his tires He could have won big time Also I'll say this 2024 could still be our year (with a bit of luck) 2025 is going to be out year hands down But 2026 will be the year of the Alonso 1-2 in practice 1-2 in qualifying 1-2 in the race Total domination Because I believe in the Alonso
For my Ferrari was kinda of a loser, at a moment I was almost crying with a P2 P3, and than P2 + DNF Max getting a lot of points, yet we get exactly the amount of points to my spreadsheet get happy. Dream on
Man I wish Carlos didn't have that unfortunate incident as it seemed like he was about to overtake Charles and mybe he could have overtaken Oscar too and would have won the race i guess! His tyres were in slightly better condition too!
Leclerc lost the race because of his arrogance. He did not defend or push after the pitstop because he didn't believe Oscar could overtake him. Had he have done so he wouldn't have lost his tyres after being in the dirty air for 30 laps. We cannot accept a bad performance like this especially from him, if this goes Lec should be replaced with Pia.
@@F-Duck1 Yes sure that's why Leclerc was always right behind him. Maybe the McL was the faster car but Lec was faster overall. He could have fended off Piastri again and then he would have backed off due to the dirty air.

Carlos was veeeeery selfish today. He had two more laps to make a move and instead he almost wanted to pass Leclerc on a crazy long overtake, costing Ferrari secured points (even if it wasn't 100% his fault)
Yeah tbh you’re right but I was scraping the bottom of the barrel for placements. But still imagine if he qualified top 5, the blow to max would’ve been lethal

@@F-Duck1 why is this the fate of the incredibly talented multiple time champions, all three of them are being let down by their machinery right now
In reality stroll is playing 4d chess, you don't get another team ahead of yours if you crash their cars, honestly vcarb should just go raid stroll just for what he did to both drivers, can't wait for what he will bring us next year
Okay I still have some faith that this could still be our year (with a bit of luck)
But definitely absolutely and with all the conviction in the world
2025 is our year
YESSSS
blud put lando who got from p17 to p4 in losers but put “ferrari” in winners with fu ing sainz who couldnt keep a straight line and crashed into checo who almost proved his worth at redbul team but naaahh sainz is a winner
We didn't get the race win, but charles still got 10 points on Max, and he basically needs to get 11 points per race SOOOOOO
CHARLES LECLERC 2024 WDC
ITS POSSIBLEEEE
Nico was ahead of bearman ultil he was caught off guard by an early green flag after the perez-sainz crash
That’s true
If Checo does well in countries that have questionable human rights, I predict a win for him in both Vegas and COTA
True
1:52 that string looks kinda like the jeddah circuit 💀
Not getting out of q1 wasnt lando's fault.
Still, of the front runners with the exception of verstappen and Piastri, he was that low anyways and needed a better lap while everyone else was safe
What a driver Oscar Piastri is.
Dare I say he is better than Lando or at least has a higher ceiling
Piastri 2024 wdc is a real possibility
Imagine 👀
Max would love nothing better than a three way melee for 2nd
I TOLD YOU BRUH THE CYCLE ALWAYS COMES FULL CIRCLE
…
"if he could continue this form"
Don't encourage RedBull delulu, duck!
😼
6:10 The tyre management was an issue due to missing FP1 and FP2 for Leclerc I think so the hype train can carry on
Ahhhh, that’s the truth now. So technically we kinda won when you think about it
@@F-Duck1 I think Leclerc would’ve gotten the win if he defended pinstripe’s move and kept clean ar
Charles should have attacked on the inside
He tired time after time after time to roudn the outside and failed while he wasted his tires
He could have won big time
Also I'll say this 2024 could still be our year (with a bit of luck)
2025 is going to be out year hands down
But 2026 will be the year of the Alonso
1-2 in practice
1-2 in qualifying
1-2 in the race
Total domination
Because I believe in the Alonso
For my Ferrari was kinda of a loser, at a moment I was almost crying with a P2 P3, and than P2 + DNF Max getting a lot of points, yet we get exactly the amount of points to my spreadsheet get happy. Dream on
Man I wish Carlos didn't have that unfortunate incident as it seemed like he was about to overtake Charles and mybe he could have overtaken Oscar too and would have won the race i guess! His tyres were in slightly better condition too!
Yeah it was such a horrible crash
Alonso is gonna be the world champion this season
0.0000000000008% chance 99% faith
@@F-Duck1 100% faith
Leclerc lost the race because of his arrogance. He did not defend or push after the pitstop because he didn't believe Oscar could overtake him. Had he have done so he wouldn't have lost his tyres after being in the dirty air for 30 laps. We cannot accept a bad performance like this especially from him, if this goes Lec should be replaced with Pia.
No, the McLaren was simply faster on hards, he was going to get overtaken anyways
@@F-Duck1 Yes sure that's why Leclerc was always right behind him. Maybe the McL was the faster car but Lec was faster overall. He could have fended off Piastri again and then he would have backed off due to the dirty air.
Oh wait we are blaming Lando for the yellow flag that ruined his lap in Q1... Aight
He still made a mistake on his lap anyways
I was so delusional that I bought myself a Ferrari Cap, boy was I wrong.
Aye man, we’ll win in Singapore ( we won’t)

@@F-Duck1 Our delusion can turn into reality
Carlos was veeeeery selfish today. He had two more laps to make a move and instead he almost wanted to pass Leclerc on a crazy long overtake, costing Ferrari secured points (even if it wasn't 100% his fault)
That’s a good point

Bro didn't even give me a chance to watch the race before spoiling the results
Lol sorry
As a lando fan how is he a loser. He gained 10 positions after being screwed over by a yellow flag in qualifying.
Yeah tbh you’re right but I was scraping the bottom of the barrel for placements. But still imagine if he qualified top 5, the blow to max would’ve been lethal
Leclerc definitely need to learn more
That car and strategy were shit man
@@Addie15042nah if he had defended that move by oscar, he would have won by 15+ seconds.
Ehhh, I think McLaren were better on the hards but we were close to them but I don’t blame Charles for anything.
@@F-Duck1 carlos was much faster than oscar in the last stint. Charles would have been even faster if he hadnt been stuck in the dirty air of oscar for the entire race. Also, mclaren arr allegedly running a flexy rear wing, which really helped with their straight line speed.
@@askeladden450bfffff no. His 6 second gap vanished the moment Oscar went on hards
im starting to think delusion works
Landos quali wasn’t his fault he was the only driver to get a yellow flag in that area not the drivers before or after , so don’t think he should be in losers
Fair point

Max was also almost kicked out in q1 because of a yellow, it managed to clear up in time for him tho. So you can't really pin the blame on Lando.
My poor pookie Checo 😢😢
🥲
@@F-Duck1 that's crash is about to me my 13th reason 😭
Bro would’ve finally made it on pole but Sainz had other plans
Did you look at the illegal rear wing of the McLaren that basically allows them to have drs everywhere?
I saw that. If Red Bull were immediately struck down in 2021 for the same thing, then McLaren better be too because that’s just straight up unfair

That’s not on checo, Carlos veered into him. It’s like what happened in Austria where max is most at fault
@F-Duck1 nah in austia there was braking zone on right turn here it was a straight Perez was behind and had all that space on the left if he would think about it he would give him more space live to fight another lap but he wanted to prove he can get a podium so he can be proud of himself in interviews cuz he got more out of the car than Max
