Now a couple weeks after Christine has passed away, this was epically ‘profound’. I’m glad they had this time together. ☮️❤️To the Fleetwood Mac Family, McVie’s family, and friends. The ‘Songbird’ and her gentle soul may be gone, but she lives on in her beautiful music.🎼🎶🎤
Christine used to write letters to Lindsey saying things to the effect of "I'm not involved in any of this drama, I still consider you my great friend" and that simple reaching out by her was golden. It is sometimes all a man needs...someone to say "I got your back, friend".
@@traceyjones2010 Yes there's way too much of that and she's allowed to get away with it and remain this bitter and hostile. Not good, and so stupid as it stopped her being in the studio one last time with Chrissie.
Tell her to fly back! Seriously though, at least Lindsey-though he couldn't have known it would happen-made the bother of recording with Christine before she left us. Nicks didn't even do the courtesy, oh she can regret it now, maybe, but tough, her childish choice, as she was ambivalent about returning to "a war band"-forgetting her own wars were very much part of it. Bottom line is: you don't always need to argue with people to get something done. If every group and business did that, nothing would get done or made.
@@tieukhavu8832 Not even that-"Say You Will" lacks Christine penned and sung songs, and she can barely be heard on only a few songs. Many critics state that despite the brand title, this is more a solo album by both Buckingham and Nicks, which it is really, as most of these songs were brought to the table from their unused solo ventures, add to this some of that sound more like solo work than FM work. Now this new album from 2017, given a lazy stupid title, is far more a FM sounding album, and I guess if 3 extra Nicks songs from somewhere were added to it, it'd be like old days, but then no one told Nicks not to be part of it, she made the stupid choice and therefore utterly destroyed any chance of her being in studio with Christine ever again.
@@sirgilmour Rumors is 45 years ago, let it be what it was and not hold these musical artist in that mold. They are not the same people as they were 45 years ago. They never wanted to make another Rumors at all and have said such.
The forcing of Lindsey out of the band was such a huge mistake. I don't know what all of the circumstances were that led to it. But his absence left the band with an essential part missing. Now with Christine's passing, the band is now missing another essential element. Just as Lindsey is the boy with the magic fingers, Christine was the girl with the golden voice. I'm grateful for all of the wonderful music that they all gave us throughout the years. Christine will be missed.
Lindsey didn't get forced out of the band it's the same thing as in 1987 Fleetwood Mac Wanted to go out on tour and Lindsey didn't in 1987 he threw a tantrum over it and he quit in 2018 similarly the band wanted to go out on tour and he wanted to do his solo career anyways the band voted and he blamed Stevie as he always does when something don't go the way he thinks it should they were at an event before this also where he allegedly said something not nice that upset her but to blame her entirely for him being out is ridiculous that was why he dropped the lawsuit to he even said he would be open to coming back c anyway that was before the loss of Christine since she passed Mick Fleetwood has said he feels like Fleetwood Mac is done.
@@aprilgosa5779 Yeah people either forget or weren’t aware that Lindsey quit the band right after the release of Tango In The Night and right before they were set to go out on tour. He left them high and dry and forced them to scramble to hire two musicians to fill in for him. I remember how disappointed so many fans were that he didn’t tour with them. His history with the band is not pristine.
@@EastSide-qc5oy Please. 3/5ths of the band barely showed up to record on Tango which took 17 months because they were perpetually wasted and when they did show up they barely contributed. Lindsey with a huge assist from Christine gifted them a multi platinum album and their second highest selling WW and made the band relevant again. He didn't want to go on tour with them because he said it was always 10x worse on the road. Lindsey had to set up an RV in his driveway so they'd party there instead of bringing drugged out strangers into his home at 3am. By the end Mick was living in the RV and meeting his drug dealer in Lindsey's driveway. Mick later referred to himself then as an out of control coke monster who when he actually showed up passed out during recording sessions. John was having alcoholic seizures and blackouts and when he did show up often forgot to or couldn't play. Stevie showed up for about 2 weeks total then complained she wasn't on the album a lot and threatened to go to Rolling Stone about it. Lindsey later called it the worst recording experience of his life - he was burnt out. This was an album Mick pressured Lindsey into producing for the band because he was bankrupt. Also a solo album Lindsey turned into an FM album - not for the first or last time. But sure - he's the one that let the band down. They knew he didn't want to tour but Mick set it up anyway - and he never signed on which is what they were pressuring him to do. Mick told him he toured or was out of the band so he left. Priceless hypocrisy. Fans were disappointed in him because he didn't throw their dirty laundry out there in 1987 but they were happy to throw him under the bus and not for the first or last time. He was fired in 2018 in a Stevie him or me ultimatum. One done behind Christine's back and presented to her later as majority rules. The band lied about it - or rather Mick and Stevie did claiming he refused to tour for a year when he'd already signed contracts and had been negotiating a 2-3 month push to tour solo after Stevie had just unilaterally pushed the tour back from 2017 (the actual 50th anniversary) to tour another year for 24k. Even then he withdrew his request. Later when that truth came out Mick said it was because they were unhappy - after everyone but Stevie had just happily made and released an album. He sued them for breach of contract and they settled in 3 weeks and paid him his promised tour money because they legally had no cause to fire him. Stevie basically admitted the ultimatum was true with her later bullshit statement of I didn't get him fired, I fired myself. (so yeah him or me) Last year during interviews she was back though to claiming he didn't want to tour. Stevie dragged her heels on recording new FM music for about 15 years. First it was a claim that albums didn't sell so why bother - then she made a solo album. Then it was because Christine wasn't there and when she came back instead went into the studio to release her album of 40 year old demos instead of being with her band. She later said she would contribute and Mick wrote in his book they were just waiting for Stevie to add her tracks. Then unilaterally in 2015/2016 Stevie announced there would never be another FM album even as her band was working on one. That Mick caved and didn't call it FM was an insult to the rest of the band and another late black mark on their history.
@@joroberts7855 Yeah, he didn't drop the lawsuit. After FM lawyers said they were happy to see him in court they folded in weeks because he had all the documented evidence and gave him that settlement.
Creating this album must have been so magical for these 2 old friends. You can tell they have enormous love and respect for each other as singers, songwriters and musicians, no politics involved, just two members of a former Super group getting together to make music and write songs together. I really do think bringing John and Mick on board was an afterthought, Lindsey was probably Just looking for some nostalgia, they could have gotten anyone to play bass and drums on this collaboration album. The most important factor was the songwriting, music and harmonies of Buckingham and McVie which is legendary. These 2 were always the main force in the success of Fleetwood Mac's heyday.
THE DRUMMER IS MIC FLEETWOOD THE OWNER OF THE BAND JOHN MCVIE IS THE EX HUSBAND OF Christine McVie Lindsey Buckingham was asked to join the band and Lindsey would only join the band if they would take his girlfriend with him now that you’re caught up maybe you understand better now
Both wrong. Bringing Mick and John on board wasn't an afterthought, & this wasn't FM so they weren't obligated to. Read where Lindsey had said that his songs (not sure how many) that he had used on this album were ones he had done earlier, in the "maybe later" file that all artists have, & he had made the demos with Mick & John already playing on them, so why should he get anyone else to play on them when the time came to use them, they were part of those songs from the beginning, before he & Christine even had the idea to collaborate. That doesn't sound like an afterthought to me, probably an unspoken code of ethics between musicians, besides the fact that it made Christine more comfortable than using others after her long sabbatical.
Mcvie is always been underrated she brings a smooth chill transition to FWM, its like been at a party and when its all over you can just sit and relax and listen to the music and her singing its relaxing and you can enjoy it. a rare voice from the 70s 80s that hasnt changed.
@Mr. Cairo...Could you enlighten us who do NOT even know about "this little turn of events" here??!! What lawsuit and why??!! If you do NOT want to explain it on here, could you please provide a link to those of us FM Fans who do NOT even know ANYTHING about this!! I mean, this is quite UNbelievable here!! The FM Fab Five (Mick and Lindsey and Stevie and Christine and John) started off on 1 hell of a rock n roll history here and have lasted for over 40 years (with the exception of Christine leaving the band for 16 years here)!! Then, in April 10th, 2018; it was reported by the worldwide media that LB was "FIRED" by FM for "refusing to go on tour"!! Then, within the past year; LB and CM decided to do a duet lp together here (just them, doing the singing and the song writing with John and Mick playing instruments on the recording itself also here)!! So now, everyone is happy with this brand new duo lp by LB and CM (and even L and C are happy with the result of it saying "that the chemistry is still there"!!) Now, would you even believe it here...me and other FM fans are reading that L and C are suing each other in some kind of lawsuit here!! WTF????!!!!
@Mr. Cairo they settled and Christine immediately reached out to Lindsey telling him she misses him, that FM is not complete without him, and that she had nothing to do with what Stevie and Mick did to him. there's hope for Buckingham McVie 2!
@@ericaleslie257 In chronological order: 1) Lindsey and Christine's duet album - which originally was meant to be a Fleetwood Mac album (but Stevie didn't want to participate) - was released in 2017. The video above about the making of the album is from May 25th, 2017. 2) Lindsey and Christine toured their duet album in the Fall of 2017. 3) on January 26th 2018 Fleetwood Mac performed at MusiCares in New York and they were honored as 'MusiCares person of the Year'. 4) on April 4th 2018 former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Billy Burnette (1987-1995) shared a tweet that has since been deleted, saying: “Breaking news: Lindsey Buckingham is out but I’m not in.” His tweet is mentioned in this article: www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/fleetwood-mac-fires-lindsey-buckingham-629198/ 5) on April 25th 2018 Fleetwood Mac's new line-up (with guitarist Mike Campbell and singer/guitarist Neil Finn) did an interview with CBS's Anthony Mason and here Stevie and Mick explained that Lindsey had been fired because he - allegedly - "didn't want to go out on the road for an year". Link: www.cbsnews.com/news/fleetwood-mac-tour-2018-without-lindsey-buckingham/ ........... But news travel fast these days, thanks to the social media. And several people who are connected to Fleetwood Mac and Mike Campbell's old band Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers talked about Lindsey's firing weeks before the CBS interview. One example of that is the tweet that Billy Burnette wrote. (He was clearly disappointed that the band had not picked HIM as Fleetwood Mac's new guitarist.) And here is another example: On the 7th of April - weeks before Fleetwood Mac did the CBS interview and months before Lindsey Buckingham told his own version of what happened - photographer Joe Compton, who has been a backstage guest at Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' concerts for 30 years, posted the following message on a Facebook page called 'Mike Campbell Fans': "The truth re my April 1 post - Mike will be lead guitarist on Fleetwood Mac tour ; Lindsey-Nicks issues came to a head - LB fired.” Read also the fifth comment (No. 5 out of 98, so you may have to press "Earlier comments" a few times). Here Joe Compton says: "Stevie started tour prep and finally decided she could not stand to work w LB---ultimatum to the band : Him or me. Band asked tour promoters did they want Mac w Stevie or LB? 20 to 1 vote in favor of Stevie...LB fired and Mike asked to join....I expect a second guitarist w good vcls to also join but don't know who." Here is a link to Joe Compton’s post: facebook.com/groups/MikeCampbellFans/search/?query=joe%20compton it should be noted that Joe Compton isn't a Lindsey Buckingham fan - and he doesn’t like Lindsey Buckingham as a person. (Read the second comment / No. 2 out of 98: “LB has too high opinion of self”.) No, Joe Compton is a fan of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, so what interested HIM, was what guitarist Mike Campbell was going to do as a musician after the death of Tom Petty. Unlike most Lindsey Buckingham fans, Joe Compton thinks Mike Campbell is a great addition to Fleetwood Mac. And he obviously heard the news about the firing from Mike Campbell. What Joe Compton said regarding Mike Campbell replacing Lindsey soon turned out to be true, and therefore many fans never doubted what he said about Stevie's "him or me" ultimatum. What he said about “a second guitarist with good v[o]c[a]ls also to join” also turned out to be true (when Neil Finn joined), so it’s pretty obvious that Joe Compton knew EXACTLY what he was talking about. And that's not all: The 1st of July the famous Fleetwood Mac co-producer Richard Dashut who's been close to the band for years, posted to Twitter a message that confirms that Stevie forced Lindsey out of Fleetwood Mac: "I’ve been asked for my opinion on Lindsey’s departure from FM quite a few times. Alright, here it is. I believe what has transpired amounts to the final chapter in Stevie’s & Lindsey’s relationship. Power balance finally tipped over. Creativity spilled, “never going back again“. There is also a fan video of Lindsey talking to some fans about the imminent Fleetwood Mac tour and how he intends to do his solo gigs on the band's off days. Here is a link: twitter.com/savemeaplace/status/988489477986443265 This video was recorded the 27th of January, which was the day after the MusiCares event. And that's interesting because in the CBS interviews three months later the band claimed that at this point he had not agreed to tour! ... But why on earth would he then tell some fans about the imminent Fleetwood Mac tour? Mick Fleetwood claims they had hit a brick wall, but if that's true, why then did Lindsey talk about the love between the five of them, when he did his speech at MusiCares? It was pretty obvious that he wasn’t aware of any crisis in the band; (just like he says in the Rolling Stone interview). On June 29th Lindsey's wife Kristen Buckingham (aka kbchrush) posted to Instagram a straight up denial of the band's story. She wrote: "He didn’t ask for any such delay. Ironically, they are starting later now than what they had planned with Lindsey." She calls the firing: "Cruelest move I’ve ever seen. Lindsey did not deserve any of it." Link: instagram.com/p/BkmFVqHAhT2/ That's why Lindsey himself said (on May 12th 2018) : "I have sadly taken leave of my band of 43 years, Fleetwood Mac.This was not something that was really my doing or my choice.” There's no way around it: The band lied when they claimed that Lindsey wanted to postpone their tour. Stevie wanted Mike Campbell in the band and just needed some sort of excuse to fire Lindsey; hence the “him or me” ultimatum to the band - and the “Lindsey didn’t want to tour”-lie. In October Lindsey told the Rolling Stone magazine his own version of what happened, and he pretty much confirmed what many fans already knew: That Stevie had given the band an ultimatum, "him or me": www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/lindsey-buckingham-fleetwood-mac-firing-733460/ And later Lindsey was also interviewed by CBS: th-cam.com/video/3Wvfj0zqBDo/w-d-xo.html

Lindsey Buckinham you are so much, you are part of the history of Fletwood Mack, the legacy, the story can not be just deletted it's too much and you will always be there and misses for your work and talents.
When Lindsey says "that was so special" and Chris chimes back with " no kidding" my heart is filled with such joy! Can't wait for this amazing record to finally come out!
I think this is what Fleetwood Mac would've sounded like had Stevie never joined the band. I'm glad that both Lindsey and Christine were able to make this album before Lindsey was forced out of the band. I don't care what Stevie has to say about it, but Fleetwood Mac isn't the same without Lindsey in it, and I hope, one day, there will be a follow up to this album. Cheers.
Once upon a time even Stevie could see things clearly ... "I realised a long time ago that there is no Fleetwood Mac without Lindsey. If it can't be with him, then let's not do it." (Stevie Nicks in Q Magazine, October 4, 1997)
Fleetwood Macs album "Time" from 1995 was the only album without Stevie as the vocalist. Instead, Bekka Bramlett was introduce to as their session vocalist, while Stevie rejoined the band for the Live album "The Dance". This could be seen as a follow up, with the vocal spot filled by Lindsay and Chris (Christine).
I read that Lindsey was orginally invited to join the band, but not Stevie. Lindsey basically insisted that Stevie be bought aboard as well - in other words, a 'two-for-one' deal.
I own this album, and it is wonderful ! The harmony's are fantastic,as well as the songs.I miss this really good music.Lindsay is a master at his craft, and Christine is still a beautiful writer, and singer. It's all good .

Not only was Christine an Amazing Musical Artist, in Singing and Keyboarding, She has a lovely, beautiful, sweetheart for a soul. That is very rare in just among common, ordinary people, or not famous; and yet they toured the world for decades and was loved by millions, and yet she is so friendly and lights up with affection and love like a Christmas Tree. Stevie on the other hand, rarely smiles, and does NOT seem like a sweet person; it's no wonder she kicked Lindsay out; the audacity; she's mean. She really sold her soul for fame and you can see it in her persona. And when you see old people that do not wrinkle; that is not normal. There is something sinister involved that has to do with children, look at dolly parton, NOT Normal, Stevie Nicks, NOT Normal. Just look up adrenochrome very sinister and it is not unnoticed by Our Creator Jesus in heaven; judgement is here already at the door for these nonhuman/people/solds out for riches. I Still Cannot Believe Christine is gone, I Miss her So Much. I’m glad my 21 year old son had the privilege to see her in concert with Lindsey and with Fleetwood Mac. Rest in Heaven Christine McVie, We Love You ❤
IMO Lindsey is one of the greatest singer songwriters in human history. His singing voice is one of the most unique, attractive, and greatest of all time. Their voices together are magic.
I always thought there was a certain synchronicity between Christine and Lindsey, I always heard how in F Mac how eerily their voices blended. Sometimes it would be tricky to tell the two apart in singing. They're both very melodic singers too. In F Mac, musically, imho I always thought the two complimented each other greatly. I feel this uniting musically new album, as a duo is a great, idea. Long awaited. I'm looking forward to hearing the music when the album comes out. You also know that they are doing this for the sake of the art of songwriting, and the love for that, not the money. Two very heartfelt people, finally putting creative juices together, as a musical marriage in a way, and the music created between the two, will be their children.
People refuse to accept this, but Fleetwood Mac WAS Lindsey and Christine. Stevie was just the ribbon on top. While the other three were snorting away cocaine and drinking themselves into a stupor in an RV, Lindsey and Christine were trying to manipulate their voices to sound like Stevie was there were she was drugged out and chronically pissed at Lindsey.
Ha, strange dynamics between those two...you would think that she wouldn't get so uptight and understand him better after 45 years. I think its her ego and her being an artist in her own right.
Congrats to these two genuine artists and musicians for having the guts to release a new CD of new material despite today's "commercial" climate. And despite what their band mate Stevie Nicks feels about the creation of new songs: that it isn't "worth it" for the Mac to record a new CD because it won't sell 5 million copies or whatever. A true musician makes music because he or she HAS TO. They have NO CHOICE. Music is in their veins. The members of Fleetwood Mac have sold enough albums and have played enough profitable gigs to where they have the financial freedom to do anything they want artistically. Lindsey's last 3 solo albums rival some of his material with the Mac, and they probably didn't sell more than 90,000 copies a piece. He doesn't give a damn. Why? He had no choice but to create new music because he's a true artist. Stevie Nicks, as much as I love her songs, has her entire self esteem wrapped up in the commercial acceptance of her work. Unless her new single is #1, she feels horrible about herself. How sad for someone who has a gift; that she needs 5 million people to approve of her creativity. I lost a lot of respect for her during "Destiny Rules" documentary about the making of the Fleetwood Mac CD "Say You Will." She was literally on the floor praying to the "commercial Gods" for acceptance of the band's work. Actually, I didn't lose respect for her; I felt sad for her. In that DVD she showed a real lack of self esteem and a need to see a therapist. At some point record company bastards and naysayers got the best of her. It was truly sad to witness. I am just glad that Lindsey and Christine are following the muse. Just like David Bowie did until the day he died from cancer. A musician never stops making music.
@The Terrence Reardon Podcast but Pros and Cons and Radio Kaos is 2 soloworks by Roger. Both are pretty ok works. And have two big hits; 5.01 am and Tide is turning. Floyd was also still playing the old stuff endlessly. Because that what people keep coming for. The rest is momentary laps.....🌻
I still have more respect for this record than ANYTHING the Mac have done since Stevie fired Lindsey. Lindsey's new solo record is better than "Say You Will" which Stevie refused to make a double CD because she was literally "praying to the commericial Gods" because her drug habits had left her broke. And the Christine/Lindsey solo album is better than "Say You Will" too. The other people in the group (besides maybe Christine) went along with Stevie because they were broke drunk drug abusers themselves. Don't get me wrong: Lindsey and Christine were not saints, but they never allowed substances to get in the way of their artistry.
Lindsey and Christine are probably very good friends. But relationships with Stevie are always rocky the closer you get to her, and frankly I think they're both lukewarm on the other two, given the way things played out in the past. Nobody ever really forgets.
@@brandonbutler7204 I think that maybe the others who are familiar with the band’s history, would wish that Stevie wouldn’t joined the band in the first place. The lineup would be the same as shown in the film here.
I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac in Edmonton back in the early 80's. Stevie was sick that night and didn't take the stage. We left that concert not disappointed at all because Christine stole the show. Lots of us came to see Stevie and still love her but it was Christine's night.
I am remonded of Double Fantasy by Lennon and Ono. Just when you thought you were thru with them...They reel you back in! The ego is gone from center stage and all thats left is the music. No posing ortrying to be rock stars, but to just let it happen. Lindsay is one of my favorite guitarists. His picking style is undulicated anywhere. His hands must be raw sinew. And he is so fast. He makes it look easy, and let me tell you, Ive been playing since 1965...and few muicians have moved me as he does.
They have always been my favorites from FM. And to have John and Mick there makes it all the better. I'm going to see them on the 30th and I'm so excited. This is the real FM. Shame on Stevie for not wanting to be a part of this wonderful work. And the album is going to be awesome! "In My World" is already a fave.
Lindsey is very excited and genuine. Seems like a genuine person. Seemingly genuine friendship. He is a true artist and has taken ALL the rough work from especially Stevie Nicks and have given their works life.
IMO, even without Stevie Nicks being involved, the four ingredients of Lindsey, Christine, Mick & John make this album worthy of being released under the Fleetwood Mac name.
happiness2007 agreed. especially since they asked her over the course of a few years if she'd come in and do a few songs. stevie kept saying "i don't want to do another fleetwood mac album." so what, the band name dies? that's not fair to the band. there's been 40 different incarnations of the band - many without stevie - and they've all been called FM. somehow this is different just because she's gonna do more nostalgia tours while the rest of the band wants to make new music? sigh. it makes me sad.
victreebel - Agreed. Makes me sad and mad. The anger comes from the fact that Stevie has led Mac fans on for years regarding one final album. Nobody made her do this. She said early last year she was absolutely going to participate. Then, all of a sudden, her horrendous 2014 solo album HAD to be promoted (2 years after its ignored release) and the rest of her magical life was too busy to sing into a microphone after Lindsey took her gibberish poem and worked it into something presentable. But the worst part, for me anyway, was her saying to the press that there would never be another Fleetwood Mac album and that nobody buys new records anyway. What a bitchy attitude. So, Stevie will prevent the band from using its own name because she choses not to contribute or participate (even though she has always done the least amount of work in the band), will refuse to follow through on an album she told fans she'd work on BUT will tour with them next year because that makes her lots of money. The sadness is that we know they (all five of them) could have made another great album and ended their recording career on a high note. But they seem to be catering to the whims of their difficult diva. I wish them luck and despite my anger at Stevie, I will always love her music (most of it anyway - that last solo album belongs in a dumpster).
Rock Solid Podcast that's bullshit. stevie is notorious for not even being in the studio while Lindsey works his magic. she can tour with him for a year, though, that's perfectly fine - cuz it makes her millions of dollars. meanwhile the rest of the 4 all get along fine clearly.
Rock Solid Podcast it's BULLSHIT. stevie had always talked out of both sides of her mouth. there was a documentary made during Say You Will. they even left *in* footage where Stevie made Lindsey cry. I'm not saying he wasn't probably a jerk in the past. i'm sure he was in the 70s. but she's still holding a grudge and can't be a professional member of the band. and I say that as someone who VASTLY prefers Stevie as a singer/songwriter.
So important documentary!!! This are a little bit FM too, but the genial work of this two great artists. Nice to watch this Prozess and see Lindsey so light, happy, laughing and be in his element, never seen in all the years.
It is nice to see it, and Lindsey & Christine's chemistry was undeniable from the start. Unfortunately, Stevie did not have the same experience as they were former lovers with a very volatile relationship. Christine confirmed there was a confrontation backstage in 1977, where Lindsey was unprofessional onstage, mocking Stevie and very much under the influence. Christine actually slapped Lindsey backstage and told him never to do that again. Stevie gets a lot of flak but truth is, she was part of the band, and endured things that no one else had to.
Thank you Christine, for sharing yourself with us one more time. This may be your best work and a true legacy. We will miss you always, with a grateful heart. 😞 ❤
Being born in 1957, I've grown up on Fleetwood Mac through all of their transformations, and one of my favorite things about the band, has always been Christine, and her gifted unique singing and songwriting talent, and the way she has always shone, throughout the band's history, with upper echelon songs in her own personally unique genre. And all the while, seemingly hanging back in a very humble way, but when she comes up to bat, delivers the most soothing, beautiful, and powerful rock songs that I've ever heard. I'd like to have a giant collection of all Christine's original songs from the very beginning, all the way through. Someday I will make a collection of them.
This music make me feel like it's 1975 - 1982 all over again, like nothing has changed, I've been on a reunion with Fleetwood Mac all day long. Reliving memories and listening to all their music.
Wow, the magic they create together is heavenly! Those harmonies are pure FM, gave me chills to listen to these short samples of the new songs. Can't wait for the Buck/Vie CD!
This whole project is becoming better and better by the minute. It seems every song is a winner. Great to have a little homage to TITN in On with the Show with the sample of You and I in it. Very adequate since that Album also is a Lindsey/Christine/Mick&John effort! For my taste nothing is missing here!
This is exciting.. Bringing Christine to the front and highlighting her enormous talent alongside Lindsey Buckingham's. John and Mick what more could you ask for?? I'm glad in a way Stevie isn't involved.

Roy Clay - I’ve honestly thought Stevie was deep down a bit jealous of Lindsey & Christine putting out such a great album.. this really hit me when she was doing a sit down interview & in passing made sure to ‘mention’ how their album ‘blew over in 3 months’.. I personally think LB’s firing was a childish & back stabbing thing to do! Just my observation of the whole ridiculous mess..
RIP to the wonderfully talented Christine McVie. I was lucky enough to see her and Fleetwood Mac when they were at the top of their game many years ago. I have Penguin, Mystery to Me, Rumours, and more....such a joy. Thank you for the wonderful musical memories. 🌈🔥🌟💔❣💖💝
I'm so excited that two of my favorite musicians are doing something together... just the two of them. Christine shares my daughter Sarah's birthday, July 12. Very cool. Thank you Christine and Lindsey. Peace always, Rick
This was recorded AS A FLEETWOOD MAC ALBUM. It was only after Stevie refused to contribute anything it was released as Buckingham McVie. It’s all in Mick’s last book - he writes about doing these songs and waiting for Stevie to come and add her songs to it.
A follow up to „Time“ (1995) if you will. The one that featured Bekka Bramlett as a session singer in the band for that album. While Stevie rejoined for the Live Album „The Dance“ two years later
The Say You Will album was released under the FM name but barely had Christine on it at all. Does Stevie Nicks' involvement decide whether they call it a Fleetwood Mac album or not?
@@tieukhavu8832 those tracks were already recorded before The Dance, they were recorded for a LB solo album. Those sessions turned into the reunion and they did The Dance.
Listen carefully at 2:11 and again at 2:44. There's a little refrain from Lindsey's guitar at the end of new song "On With The Show", which is exactly like the one from "You and I, Pt. II" from the Fleetwood Mac's album "Tango In The Night", written of course by both Lindsey and Christine McVie. This link between the two songs is a nice touch, considering the latter is probably the last song this duo wrote together. Love it.
Such wonderful memories for Lindsey Buckingham ! I listen to there konzerts everyday ! Love Em 💕💕Christine was so awesome & loving & kind ! Love her ! I wish she didn't get sick! She was beautiful inside & outside ! I've been listening to Christine & Fleetwood Mac since the 1970S & I am in my 70S ! This was so wonderful to see. What a great post. Love and miss you, Christine ❤ We always held you dearly here in the U.S. RIP. What a wonderful, wonderful group of talented humans. ❤❤❤❤
This was a great surprise, since any new release with Christine's name attached is a treasure. "I'm just sleeping around the corner" is one of Buckingham's best
So great to see one of the greatest bands of all time back working and they have overcome so much pain and they are all still alive and kicking it’s awesome.
A many of you do not know that Christine was musically involved way before Lindsey and Stevie Nicks. They hooked up to a really gifted artist. She worked with Stan Webb!.
Thank you Lindsey for creating this video! I’m so happy the two of you were able to share some real time together (including John and Mick), enjoying the company and the talent. I love the presence you and Stevie bring to the stage, but Christine’s voice has always been very lulling to the ear, and the two of your voices together are what I consider the FM sound. Phenomenal musicians! ❤️
They were true partners on this album. Four singles were released. The first was by Buckingham. The next two were by McVie. The last was by Buckingham. There were 10 songs on the album, five by each artist although they did help each other a lot with all the tracks for the most part. The album managed to get over 60,000 in sales giving it silver status in the USA. Core Mac fans liked it as it was similar in sound to Fleetwood Mac.
@@redletter2008 Actually they kind of did that 30 years: The Tango in the Night album. It took them 18 months to make the album, but Stevie was only present for two weeks. The result? 9 out 12 songs on the album are written by Lindsey and Christine - there are only 3 songs by Stevie.
I was fortunate to have been at one of their first shows. They were clearly excited to play their new album. The magic was in the air so to speak. Las Vegas baby. Wonderful show. Walllflowers threw down also, by the second song they were really pushing and challenging each other to be in the moment.
This album is a joy to listen too. It’s unbelievably sad that this group of people couldn’t find a way to make this a final Mac album. As much as I love Stevie’s songs I don’t miss her contributions on this. It does baffle me that she couldn’t find the time to sing even just 2 songs into a microphone somewhere in the world and let Lindsey do his thing with them. There was clearly a bond between the 4 of them involved in this project. It’s interesting that it took such a short amount of time and without the drama that seemed to be a constant with all of the previous albums. It does make you wonder who caused the drama. I really appreciate that Christine and Lindsey still have the need to produce new music. The constant rehash of old stuff on tour has become tedious.
It's wonderful that she is back and performing again. I met her once at a party in the village in Kent where she lived for all those years, she was lovely very modest and had a wonderful sense of humour. I didn't realise who she was until sometime later when. Someone said she lived there, she was just like anyone else enjoying an glass of wine and having a nice time she never mention what she had done in the past or who she was. I know she felt isolated in the end living here, but I also know that she loved it at first and that it was only the later years she appear to withdraw from being out and about, she was quite often seen in her Range Rover driving around . Its a pretty part of England close enough to London and a lot of celebrities have homes here too , the locals would have respected her privacy and let her get on with life . Her house was beautiful in a very sort after village, she certainly knows the best places to live that's for sure. Can't wait for the new album and it's great to hear her back in action again.
Because Stevie isn't there. I love her to bits, but it seems as though she was the root cause of most of their fighting and disagreements over the years. :P
Yes, unfortunately Stevie seems to have become the consummate rock and roll narcissus and has been for years. Its sad as i have loved her music for years but i have also noticed her narcissistic tendencies for years.
HAHA,that has to be a joke right? seeing as she was fighting withLB,Christine was sleeping with the sound engineer whilst still married to John and mick was on a serious cocaine trip. The whole band was screwed up,but made some of the BEST music ever at the time.
It's possible Stevie simply enjoys the freedom of dong things on her own. As a writer she would be one of three in the Mac. Solo she can do whatever she wants. Besides, she likely still feels the pressure of Lindsey's genius hovering over her. There are TH-cam clips of Ms. Nicks from her current tour, some with Chrissie Hynde (the Pretenders share the billing) and she appears to be having good fun. Also worth noting is that guitarist Waddy Wachtel is in her band, having bowed out of Joe Walsh's excellent touring group to rejoin her.
What a great collaboration. Bummer recent events have probably killed any future works together. I think Mick and Stevie should've considered more what the fans would like. After all without the fans what is there?
Now a couple weeks after Christine has passed away, this was epically ‘profound’. I’m glad they had this time together. ☮️❤️To the Fleetwood Mac Family, McVie’s family, and friends. The ‘Songbird’ and her gentle soul may be gone, but she lives on in her beautiful music.🎼🎶🎤
Christine used to write letters to Lindsey saying things to the effect of "I'm not involved in any of this drama, I still consider you my great friend" and that simple reaching out by her was golden.
It is sometimes all a man needs...someone to say "I got your back, friend".
guess it was all Stevie's scheming....
They were great friends with a mutual respect for each other. Respect. I love them both very much.!🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏼
You mean she wrote that letter after the band fired lindsey?
That was all Steve's doing
@@traceyjones2010 Yes there's way too much of that and she's allowed to get away with it and remain this bitter and hostile. Not good, and so stupid as it stopped her being in the studio one last time with Chrissie.
It's so sad to think that Lindsey and Christine will no longer be singing together. The songbird has flown.
I miss Christine too. Also sad to see, that Say you will is the final full studio album by the 75 lineup of the band.
What a beautiful album, my two favorite musicians together. The music is perfection. Christine is greatly missed. 😢
@@kyachdistent1301 I mean the four of them . Although Chrissy played as a guest with Band
Notice how at ease Lindsey and Christine work together. Absolutely no drama between them which makes a great work environment.

She was my favorite part of Fleetwood Mac. So sad she's gone....💚🎸
She was an Angel in Person, and now an Angel, gone to heaven 😭
I always have admired Lindsey Buckingham's musical feeling in the guitar, and of Christine McVie in the voice.
it was never nicks it was the rest of them carrying her
These two...the most musical aspect of this group
If he left of his own accord why did FM give him a 12 million dollar settlement?
That doesn't sound like an afterthought to me, probably an unspoken code of ethics between musicians, besides the fact that it made Christine more comfortable than using others after her long sabbatical.
sort of Fleetwood Mac reunion minus Stevie Nicks
Christine McVie is 74 years old.. and so friggin gorgeous!
I always loved her voice, The Songbird is one of her best IMHO.

WTF????!!!!
I bet Nicks is losing her mind over this I LOVE IT
@Mr. Cairo they settled and Christine immediately reached out to Lindsey telling him she misses him, that FM is not complete without him, and that she had nothing to do with what Stevie and Mick did to him. there's hope for Buckingham McVie 2!

2) Lindsey and Christine toured their duet album in the Fall of 2017.
3) on January 26th 2018 Fleetwood Mac performed at MusiCares in New York and they were honored as 'MusiCares person of the Year'.

5) on April 25th 2018 Fleetwood Mac's new line-up (with guitarist Mike Campbell and singer/guitarist Neil Finn) did an interview with CBS's Anthony Mason and here Stevie and Mick explained that Lindsey had been fired because he - allegedly - "didn't want to go out on the road for an year".

...........
(He was clearly disappointed that the band had not picked HIM as Fleetwood Mac's new guitarist.) And here is another example:
On the 7th of April - weeks before Fleetwood Mac did the CBS interview and months before Lindsey Buckingham told his own version of what happened - photographer Joe Compton, who has been a backstage guest at Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' concerts for 30 years, posted the following message on a Facebook page called 'Mike Campbell Fans': "The truth re my April 1 post - Mike will be lead guitarist on Fleetwood Mac tour ; Lindsey-Nicks issues came to a head - LB fired.”
Read also the fifth comment (No. 5 out of 98, so you may have to press "Earlier comments" a few times). Here Joe Compton says:
"Stevie started tour prep and finally decided she could not stand to work w LB---ultimatum to the band : Him or me. Band asked tour promoters did they want Mac w Stevie or LB? 20 to 1 vote in favor of Stevie...LB fired and Mike asked to join....I expect a second guitarist w good vcls to also join but don't know who."
Here is a link to Joe Compton’s post: facebook.com/groups/MikeCampbellFans/search/?query=joe%20compton
it should be noted that Joe Compton isn't a Lindsey Buckingham fan - and he doesn’t like Lindsey Buckingham as a person.
And that's not all: The 1st of July the famous Fleetwood Mac co-producer Richard Dashut who's been close to the band for years, posted to Twitter a message that confirms that Stevie forced Lindsey out of Fleetwood Mac:
"I’ve been asked for my opinion on Lindsey’s departure from FM quite a few times.
Ironically, they are starting later now than what they had planned with Lindsey."
She calls the firing: "Cruelest move I’ve ever seen. Lindsey did not deserve any of it."
Link: instagram.com/p/BkmFVqHAhT2/
That's why Lindsey himself said (on May 12th 2018) : "I have sadly taken leave of my band of 43 years, Fleetwood Mac.This was not something that was really my doing or my choice.”
There's no way around it: The band lied when they claimed that Lindsey wanted to postpone their tour. Stevie wanted Mike Campbell in the band and just needed some sort of excuse to fire Lindsey; hence the “him or me” ultimatum to the band - and the “Lindsey didn’t want to tour”-lie.
In October Lindsey told the Rolling Stone magazine his own version of what happened, and he pretty much confirmed what many fans already knew: That Stevie had given the band an ultimatum, "him or me":
www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/lindsey-buckingham-fleetwood-mac-firing-733460/
And later Lindsey was also interviewed by CBS:

Man, Stevie has been pissed at Lindsay for 40 YEARS. It is simply psycho at this point.
Ha, strange dynamics between those two...you would think that she wouldn't get so uptight and understand him better after 45 years. I think its her ego and her being an artist in her own right.
Alan Cofer - Well.. she wrote little poems that others arranged..
Jayanna Kelley who Christine or Stevie ?
I´m in tears, what such amazing souls
I was at their concert in Murphy's. CA last night. I'm 49 and seeing Lindesy at least was on my bucket list. Let me just say: SHIVERS!!!!
Brilliantly said!!!!!!!
It's more probably Stevie don't feel like going on this Lindsey trip again. Nicks fans don' t need it either . In your dreams(...)
Or even 500,000 copies. Meanwhile Stevie made a bloody fortune on the road while they were making this album.
Christine always is dignified
Aww! I love the love and respect they have for each other!!
Rest in Peace Christine. Will miss your beautiful and soulful voice.
So very sad. They seemed like such special friends. Can’t believe the band kicked him out
Lindsey and Christine are probably very good friends.
Thankful they chose to do this. She’s now gone. None of us get to chose how or when we pass.
I remember seeing Fleetwood Mac in Edmonton back in the early 80's. Stevie was sick that night and didn't take the stage. We left that concert not disappointed at all because Christine stole the show. Lots of us came to see Stevie and still love her but it was Christine's night.
And...did they sing her songs?...
Pablo Pérez - The songs Lindsey arranged? Probably 🌟
@@pabloperez4063 They did Don't Stop even when Chrissy was out of the band. Stevie had Chris' part on it.
Stevie was always the least important part of the band.
Absolutely heartbroken hearing the news today. Fly high Christine...💙
I honestly want to hear another Buckingham/McVie album.
😥
Unfortunately not 😭🥺
Unity, love, & respect. That's what made our MAC special. Not to mention the music.....that speaks for itself. Rest in peace, our song 🕊️....
I can’t believe how amazing Christine looks at her age!
Evan Bakerian she sat in the English countryside drinking wine for 16 years. There ya go, there’s your secret
Adrenochrome for sure
Still looks like an Angel
This has to be one of those rare albums that from the first track to the last, is outstanding!!! Just FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!
I just bought mine, I'm thinking it's going to be great as well.
it's great to see how close they are to one another.
Sounds great. Can't wait to buy the album. Love Christine's and Lindsey's vocals.
This album should be HUGE! The parts in the story sound great.
Made my millennium!
It is obviously that Lindsey works very well with Christine. I will leave it at that....
I wish them luck and despite my anger at Stevie, I will always love her music (most of it anyway - that last solo album belongs in a dumpster).
redletter I didnt know Stevie said there wouldnt be another Fleetwood Mac album
Reliving memories and listening to all their music.
such the songbird. so humble, and now divine. RIP Christine.
She was one of my all time favorites! Beautiful Lady, beautiful Voice! 🎵😇🌹
R.I.P. Christine. You were so beautiful in so many ways.💗
Just wanted to thank you guys so much for the TANGO IN THE NIGHT DELUXE release!
Especially the classic Music Videos for BIG LOVE and LITTLE LIES!
@@kathyhays4025 That's some weird stuff to say considering there is no way in hell that you could know what actually happened between these people and how any of them feel about it. Take the aluminum foil hat off and grow up.
@@bX-rk2oo Actually, some of the things that Stevie has said in interviews when discussing Buckingham have been extremely arrogant, controlling and bitter. Buckingham has never had anything vile to say about Nicks, publicly, , as far as I know. He made her, and she tried to destroy him.
kuei12 - so true! She has talked about having to hid from wives of the married men she was with..
Of course
This makes me sad that Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey are at Odds.
It is not Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey at odds. It's Nicks at odds. Probably jealousy from not being included.
@@kuei12huhuh😂💆
@@kuei12 they really dont need her they are great without her
FM's fault, and I think they made the decision when Christine wasn't there so she couldn't exercise her diplomacy over the band.
@@Caroline-ms3kh True. The worst thing is that tMick falsely claimed that Christine was there, when the decision was made. (In this interview: www.yahoo.com/entertainment/mick-fleetwood-new-fleetwood-mac-important-remain-creative-not-tread-water-233748621.html) ... That's the problem with lying: Remembering what you and others said the last time.
I wasn't sure about some of the previews we've heard so far, but Red Sun and Carnival Begin sound fantastic! Also my god, look at everyone acting like adults. And happy ones at that. This is a band that should keep recording.
I've always said Lindsey Buckingham was the mastermind behind Fleetwood Mac. I do suspect Stevie got her nose out of joint over this album
Absolutely! On both counts.
Christine...you STILL HAVE IT, babe! Always did, always will.
I am glad that Christine got a chance to collaborate with Lindsey again on new music, hers and his. She looked delighted to be back in the studio again. I listened to this album a few years ago, not a bad track on it.
What a wonderful record these two have produced! All of the colors and shades of emotion and such atmosphere... it's just wonderful and watching this documentary is the icing on the cake! Cheers - Luther 😉👍
So great musicians! He is happy and in his element👌👍She is a great woman, singer and songwriter, so sweet talented woman!❤️
How can you not love this women....
This is really a Fleetwood Mac album if ever there was one! They all look so together. Who would think 8 months later he would be out of the Mac and no one would be speaking to LB? Crazy.
yup. it's the Stevie effect.
Tieu Kha Vu - No it wasn’t.. you need to re-watch & then watch Christine & Lindsey’s interviews ..
I don't get these lyrics ....liked Stevie nicks' much better
Bertha Manley - 🤦♀️
Roy Clay - I’ve honestly thought Stevie was deep down a bit jealous of Lindsey & Christine putting out such a great album.. this really hit me when she was doing a sit down interview & in passing made sure to ‘mention’ how their album ‘blew over in 3 months’.. I personally think LB’s firing was a childish & back stabbing thing to do! Just my observation of the whole ridiculous mess..
Enjoy seeing Lindsey and Christine keeping the chops up. Sad day losing Christine, life has it's changes.
Love it. Cannot wait for this album!
RIP to the wonderfully talented Christine McVie. I was lucky enough to see her and Fleetwood Mac when they were at the top of their game many years ago. I have Penguin, Mystery to Me, Rumours, and more....such a joy. Thank you for the wonderful musical memories. 🌈🔥🌟💔❣💖💝
Carnival Begin is an absolutely brilliant track. As others have said, I hope they collaborate again in the future.
John playing fretless at 6:29 - nice!
I'm so excited that two of my favorite musicians are doing something together... just the two of them. Christine shares my daughter Sarah's birthday, July 12. Very cool. Thank you Christine and Lindsey. Peace always, Rick
R.I.P. Christine, such a talented beautiful soul. I'm glad we have a huge body of work to remember her by. This album is stellar!
I love this so much, so excited for the album. Wonderful to see them so happy together.
So wonderful to hear those enchanting harmonies again. Thank you so much!
The whole album is awesome..omg....It is so great!!!...
@@jasonkentros1633 yes because she calls the shots now. Sad and pathetic.
@@jasonkentros1633 Although Christine visited the family to play on Bleed to Love her, Steal your heart away, Everybody finds out.
@@tieukhavu8832 those tracks were already recorded before The Dance, they were recorded for a LB solo album. Those sessions turned into the reunion and they did The Dance.
Christine "I LOVE YOU" !!!!!
I do it as well
Listen carefully at 2:11 and again at 2:44.
Love it.
Santiago Figuerero m that could actually be a little hat tip to those times....
Indeed! Also nice seeing the FM's penguin behind Christine at 0:02

Well spotted and Tango is a great album. Isnt It Midnight and Tango too

I had to come back a watch this again to see all that love and enthusiasm.
Chemistry running rampant....makes for wonderful music😍
These two have always had a musical chemistry. They should have done a duet album 30 years ago!
It did not take me long to order this album after watching this!! I can't wait for it's arrival!
Thank you for the beautiful music Christine ... rest in peace Songbird
That was an amazing look into your creative & personal lives! It's quite touching! Congrats! Great Duo! Love you both! xoxo
The atmosphere in the studio seemed to be quite positive: a first for Fleetwood Mac!
Because Stevie isn't there. I love her to bits, but it seems as though she was the root cause of most of their fighting and disagreements over the years. :P
Maria K - I think you are right. The other four don't seem to have any problems, tensions or drama with one another.
Multi-millionaire pop stars with big egos worry about themselves first. They're sensitive artists, don't you know.
When I heard Christine had passed I was very saddened. My favorite singer and songwriter from Fleetwood Mac. She was a gift.
She was my favorite, too! 😢💔
I love how Christine movie made Lindsey Buckingham so happy God bless her soul he's in heaven with this he's so happy thank you Christine
