Strasburg Railroad - Notable #90 Returns!

- Once again, we visit the Strasburg Railroad as 2-10-0 #90 makes her return in mid-February of 2016. While the engine and train looked as beautiful as ever, the weather was anything but beautiful!
Despite glowing sunshine for most of the day, strong winds and an Arctic Blast dominated the forecast! The wind chill on this day reached a staggering 2 Degrees BELOW ZERO!
Nonetheless, we were able to get some decent footage of #90 as she makes her way along the "Road to Paradise" in weather that seems more fitting of her old home of Colorado than Pennsylvania!

It's been over a decade since I've been to Strasburg. Good to see ol' #90 still punchin' the clock!
It's so awesome to hear 90's Reading 6 Chime again. It's been lonesome without her. :)
#90 is missed in Colorado all these year later. The sound of #90 hauling sugar beats on the front range will echo proudly throughout the canyons of time. So glad #90 ended up with such a great next home. Thanks, Stasburg, and thanks Christopher for this video!
Great Western #90 is one of my favorite locomotives.

totally interesting fact the day I went to Strasburg 2 months ago I rode on the presidents car carried by old 89 on the tree train :P I also saw 8618 running too!

nice seeing a steam loco in the Snow (in Victoria it only 3 times in the plains 1st in the 1880's 2nd in the 1980's and in 2012)
I visited SRR this past august 2015 and had the shop tour. 90 was being repaired and had her wheels removed to be turned. Great to see that shes back to working order! 475 and 89 were working before, which one is in the shop now while 90 is back?

It is good to see Old No 90 return to the rails again, and you captured her so well in this video, in spite of the weather. Good work buddy, I can't wait to see more of your upcoming 2016 videos.

@@trainmaster844Her whistle sounds droopy and quiet. Is she okay?!
@@OfficialMilkyFoxChannel There are a couple reasons why it would sound like that.
1.) It was COLD. Outside temperatures were in the teens with windchills reaching -2°F! The sound of a whistle can be affected by ambient temperature.
2.) The whistle always changes pitch depending on how the engineer “quills” the whistle cord.

hmm 90 is not gargantuan and dont have the same amount of tractive effort the berkshires do but as a decapod she is a genuine freight locomotive, not no theme park size toy tank locomotive either, not that there is anything wrong with tank engines but they dont have the big power to show what steam can do, like ones like this do.

Yet no one cares about #31 still in pieces...
Strasburg hasn't forgotten about #31... it's a "pet project" while other jobs have a higher priority.

She is still in the shop, being worked on as time permits. With 475 due to enter for her 15-year inspection at the end of this year, not to mention the multitude of other projects, #31 is taking a back seat at present.
