As a Scottish person, I find it outrageous that an English guy and a Welsh girl think they have the authority to offer an American a glass of Irn Bru for the first time without a Scottish person present.
I think she didn't mean to say that lucozade tastes like irn bru (because it doesn't), but the scenarios were similar, in that they were changing recipe to massively reduce the sugar content.

I’m sad they changed it. Just as a comparison, before they changed it, I would never touch sugar free irn bru. Now however, the recipe for irn bru has changed so much, I now think sugar free tastes better. IRN BRU SHOULD NEVER TASTE WORSE THAN SUGAR FREE

IRN-BRU is not a brew, this is the reason Barrs in court way way back in the day were told they can't call their product Iron Brew so had to change its name to IRN BRU. Also if there is artificial sweetner in any product i will detect it, this is the reason i do not drink IRN-BRU now because the artificial sweetner in it is blatent to me, i do by the IRN-BRU original 1901 now though but much more expensive.

It is made in Scotland, I actually met a guy who worked at the plant where it's made. I am sure he said it was in Cumbernauld which isn't really in Glasgow but not an awful long way from Scotland's biggest city. Cumbernauld is on the road from Glasgow to Stirling.

They ruined my beloved WHAM bars and Ribena tastes like sugar free blackcurrant juice.
