COP26: American officials hilariously try Scottish food before Glasgow trip for climate conference

  • Officials at the US Embassy in London sampled traditional Scottish foods and drinks such as deep-fried Mars bars, haggis, and Cullen skink ahead of his trip to Glasgow for the COP26 climate summit in hilarious footage.
Ambassador Philip T Reeker and his staff can be seen with other officials in the footage trying the Scottish favourites
The local delicacies were overwhelmingly a hit, even if Reeker observed that “you probably should sell Haggis with the actual description of what’s in it.”
At one point Cullen Skink sounds like it is referred to as Colin Skunk....oh dear!!

See haggis is amazing, people decide not to like it when they hear what its made from.

as someone who comes from the area that first deep fried mars bars i can 100% say they are indeed Scottish

Deep fried Mars bars are not a Scottish delicacy. This was just some fish and chip frier mucking around.

No I'm Scottish, some people actually do eat that here. Started off as a joke I'm sure.

I don’t get why people think it’s that crazy to fry chocolate in a batter. Loads of countries do similar dishes. It’s pretty much like a chocolate filled donut. Not that weird or any more calorific than a donut either really.

Nah Americans deep fired sweets way longer ago. And they actually eat it. Deep fried mars bar was a gimmick and i know of no one who eats it.

@@crabby2717 did you miss the part where I said I was English? 😂😂
Of course I’m going to ‘take the pish’ a little 😂😂
(Also as a side note….Haggis isn’t originally Scottish, and was quite common to not only the British isles but across the Scandi lands too, it just well out of favour in other places but the Scots decided to keep eating this delicious treat….there is a great well of wisdom hiding deep, deep, very very deep within the Scottish folk 😂)

I think it's outrageous making our American cousins eat Scottish food like that. How can you expect them to enjoy it without melted , fake , cheese poured all over it and only natural ingredients used. The least you could have done is cover it in some MSG for them.
