  • You may not give a second thought to turning on a tap and filling a glass of drinking water, but where does it come from?
Large scale access to fresh drinking water is made possible through treating raw source water at various water treatment plants.
Surface water (such as river water) is treated through a five stage process including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection.
This process provides a multi-barrier to ensure water is safe for human consumption.
Watch the process of treating raw surface water in the Bundaberg region in Queensland, Australia.
