This one was a surprise as 3S planes don't really exist much maybe old used ones but thanks for posting. I've been in a time warp stuck on 3S 2200 batteries and 1100 mm prop war birds like the Durafly P-51, T-28 and Corsair, Bearcat. I missed the boat on the A1 Skyraider. Had the last one in my cart and when I went to check out it was already gone. I mainly collect US birds but when a good opportunity comes around to pick up a Brit Seafury, Spit and now this Typhoon would go great with my 3S warbirds.
I'm VERY sorry, but my flight was on 4S, and I didn't even realize I was wrong - super embarrassed...but it was the 4S 2200mAh 50C Smart pack that we had used at the very tail end of the Unbox Build Radio Setup where we were having issues getting the CG to work out at 40-45mm, which seems from many comments, to be a typo.
Great plane, I love mine but had trouble with nosing over and a couple of broken props during grass ops but removed the wheel covers that were catching in the grass and no more problems. CG is 60mm as per the forums and that works for me.
Great video Brian. Loved the CJ6 too. Both on my list to hide in the loft from my wife 😂 shame the prices have kept going up over the last couple of years.
LoL pull out fast enough comment! Love the videos, unboxing and first flights. You are so helpful for beginners and experienced hobbyists. Keep 'em coming. Just pull out early ;P
Oo beautiful in its D-Day paint scheme! And look at the way it flies!! (Fantastic skills btw!). Look forward to seeing the unbox, build and setup!! What gains are you running? Sticking it in when you can 😂😂😂🎉
Yeah, sounds about right. The plane flew WAY too good on the 4S 2200mAh 50C pack we were using (which I accidentally said was a 3S - sorry!!!!) so you're onto something there.
The Pulverizer! So floaty for a short nose'd gal. Where did you CG her? Most forums say 60mm back from the LE is the sweet spot. Love the story behind the Typhoon...... Failed for what she was designed for. But found a new role as a perfect Ground Attack platform. Thanks for braving the cold too!!! Cheers! Been flying the FW in the cold and snow. She's a smooth belly lander on the snow. Just got back and watched your vid.
Nice! Thanks Randal. She's a great flying plane, no doubt. I didn't even bother to see where she balance, to be honest, but I know she was "tail heavy" if measured at the 40-45mm...which after flying is 100% an error.
I do try to mention it. It's on, if I'm NOT saying it. AUTO-LEVELING (SAFE) is something I specifically call out, but if not, my default flying would be in AS3X.
It was WAY off with 40-45mm, but I think now, based on tons of comments that must have been a bad number. The plane flew GREAT on 2200mAh 4S 50C pack that we were flying on.
So, the kit specified CG range was way off with specified battery pack. Why does that happen so often with some brands of foamy ARF models? Why doesn't factory or seller include a corrective slip sheet?
Yeah, tell me about it. You'd think they'd at least tell US, since they KNOW we're going to go try to show our experience online!??!?! - Oh well, at least she flies great as it...but imagine putting a bunch of nose weight in, only to find out it was totally unnecessary!
I honestly can't even remember that Zero, off the cuff...I'm about 90% sure we DID IT, but I, for the life of me, can't even remember it now - Super sorry about that
www.brianphillipsrc.com/supplies There's a couple options here ;) I like the WHITE plane tube just a tiny bit better, but foam to foam is very good too.

Love the subtle humor and silence when it happens from “the camera crew” 😂
I don't want to be an "enabler" - LOL ;)

Sold . I allways wanted one .
Its actually summer in New Zealand, but been so windy all summer
Dang! That's tough. We've been dealing with wind all winter too!!! Hope our spring is good, since being stuck inside SUCKS!!!!!
I have been out every day this winter but we are flooded so floats are the best way to scratch that itch. Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada
Wish it were a bit better weather, this year, but another polar vortex coming in a couple day which is gonna get you first, I believe.
I have the Typhoon and I love it! It's a great flying plane and it looks great too!
It sure is! Love this and the CJ6!!! Both surprised me, as being WAY better than expected.

Sure thing. Seems most are going with 60mm. Thanks!
10:28 In FMS’ defense the Hispano Suiza Cannon barrels were inside tubes which were painted the same as the aircraft
yes
Great video Brian. Loved the CJ6 too. Both on my list to hide in the loft from my wife 😂 shame the prices have kept going up over the last couple of years.
yeah, tell me about it...we're finishing our basement right now...about 4-5X as much as the last one we did about 16 year ago.
Brian I enjoyed your video as always you and camera crew do such a fantastic job
Lincoln Nebraska here, i know the pain of the midwest winters...🥲
100%

Very nice - Glad you got it ;) ...and yeah, timing is everything - LOL
Another awesome FMS plane! ✈️
really is!
Oo beautiful in its D-Day paint scheme! And look at the way it flies!! (Fantastic skills btw!). Look forward to seeing the unbox, build and setup!!
What gains are you running?
Sticking it in when you can 😂😂😂🎉
1X Gain at stock settings, RKnob at 50% - it was so simple!!!!
The C.G. in manual is a copy paste error carried over from 800mm version. I believe it is actually around 70mm from leading edge.
Yeah, sounds about right. The plane flew WAY too good on the 4S 2200mAh 50C pack we were using (which I accidentally said was a 3S - sorry!!!!) so you're onto something there.
Someone's in the horizon hobby catalog 👍
LOL - thanks ;)

Now you can only have fun all-day if you get a warm cooler to keep lipos at the best temp.
yes sir!
We have the opposite extreme here in SoCal.( Santna winds and fire storms)
yeah, we've heard. Hope you're doing well!
This has been out for a while, I was wondering why you never did a review on this one... This plane is awesome looking! Didn't know it had retracts.
It really is great! We've had it for some time and kept getting caught up with other planes!
I keep my lipo's in the inside pocket of my jacket in the winter to keep them warm. You get way better performance from them in doing so.
Yeah, that's a great way too!!!
Great review, as always! I fly war birds over The White Cliffs of Dover, on my channel. Thanks Brian !
very cool!
Love those flaps. What a looker. Do you have a link for astroglide i need some. Lol.
LOL - amzn.to/3WlajBP - have fun!!!
Please mention when you are using stabilization or not.
I do try to mention it. It's on, if I'm NOT saying it. AUTO-LEVELING (SAFE) is something I specifically call out, but if not, my default flying would be in AS3X.
Hi Brian what did the cg measure out after with the lipo you used? I'm having trouble in getting mine to cg right at the given measurements!
Nick.
It was WAY off with 40-45mm, but I think now, based on tons of comments that must have been a bad number. The plane flew GREAT on 2200mAh 4S 50C pack that we were flying on.

I'll fly in cold temps, -11F is my record low, but the wind has to be very light. wouldn't even consider it with the wind you had.
yeah, ours is still -14 F, but this was like 6-7 F, but the wind was definitely something ;)
HI, how it fly compare to the 1100mm Zero ?
I honestly can't even remember that Zero, off the cuff...I'm about 90% sure we DID IT, but I, for the life of me, can't even remember it now - Super sorry about that
Hey Brian where do you find the China glue. I need some.
www.brianphillipsrc.com/supplies There's a couple options here ;) I like the WHITE plane tube just a tiny bit better, but foam to foam is very good too.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Gotcha thanks. My wife and I love the channel. I'm learning so much while getting back into the hobby.
❤❤❤❤❤😎
Looks like a P40
