- Hello everyone!
Today's lesson is a real-time drawing of how I approach creature design. Throughout the video, I give important tips and techniques to achieving believable creatures and my approach to game concept art. Whether you're a beginner or a more advanced artist, the tips I give in this video will help you solidify a design process that's right for you.

I forgot to edit out me coughing in the video and it's scaring people. I can't help but laugh now because not only can you share this video as a drawing lesson, you could also do it just to scare people. Just don't tell them when the cough happens😆
😂😂😂
I was gonna comment, who's dying??
Wearing headphones and that cough scared the shit out of me, thought there was someone behind me. Fantastic videos, I'm completely enthralled with your creatures.
That made me laugh. Also, sorry😂
@@bobbyrebholz2183 I got scared by the cough and immediately went in the comments to find who else did :D
There was a cough and like a giggle lmao i about died.
Started at 1am, ended at 2. I am just so entranced. Your explanation and guidance is golden, and it's clear you've been a good teacher. I can't wait to use this and get better! Thank you Bobby.
Glad it was helpful!
I love your content, especially these full length demos! It's hard to find truly great artists on TH-cam and it's even harder to find ones that go in depth about their process. Keep up the great work!
Wow thank you. I really like doing the long form version and I will also be doing time lapse versions with drawings that take more than three hours.
I have watched every upload and you very quickly climbed to my favorite art channel. The full length videos are the best to draw to and help understand. Please keep these up!
Thank you so much 😀
I didnt get scared by the cough but i did get scared that you coughed while also talking.... lol then i remembered that you probably recorded the audio separately.
Dude. I watch your drawing videos as much a I can. You have an amazing imagination especially for horr and creature design. I would love to follow in your footsteps.❤❤❤❤
Man, it is so entertaining, informative and interesting hearing you talk. I think that I’ll be watching the video two more times.
So glad to have found your channel. I needed some good inspiration to get the pencil back in my hand for my own mental and artistic good. Happy sub, here!
Thank you for such a great video. These types of drawing videos are my favourite from you. Also been doing the 500 thumbnails challenge have already seen a massive improvement in my skill and confidence to draw
love all your lessons
I love bugs sessions
wow this video has a lot in it :) thank you :)
It was very nice hearing you talk, draw and go though the thought process of each drawing part.
it felt for me like a mini-lesson that I listened and watch through :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh... Great creature! Thanks for share it with us!
Almost an hour of happy, can't wait!
Absolutely amazing.
Amazing and excellent drawing tips!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Sus dibujos sin de lo mejor que he visto yotube gracias por los consejos👏👏
That's a huge compliment. I can't give enough thank yous
I think you’re the best artist ever dude. How do you shade like that? It looks so real
Thank you so much! I'll be practicing when I get back home.
Thanks for these videos! They are super helpful to watch and therapeutic in some sense
You're so welcome!
Damn, so good man! Love hearing the thought process.
You're art style is so inspiring to me. It's so similar to mine but quite a bit better. Thank you so much for what your doing here.
Thank you so much 😀
I wish I knew how to magically make detailed skin texture appear just by swiping a pen.
I think the most important thing about buying a camera is that you make sure it's video specialized camera, Unless you are aiming to do photography.
I’m new here. Just found your videos and I can’t stop learning. Thanks for the effort ❤ subbed
Thanks for subbing!
@@bobbyrebholz2183 simply supporting what I want to see more of, bro
The creature from that movie 'Graveyard Shift' reminds me of this one.
Graveyard Shift is such a guilty pleasure! Yeah I remember it being a giant bat-like thing. Didn't they kill it by a machine grinding it to pieces? 😆
@@bobbyrebholz2183 Yep. Its tail gets caught and its dragged into a rock grinder, a mining machine.
Thanks so much! I'm 14 and still learning but watching these type of videos with you explaining what/why you're doing something really helps me 🙂
Edit: Also i joined your Discord! kinda scared to share my art though lol
Hey don't be scared. The Discord is full of all kinds of skill levels but they're all there to help each other.
this channel is a literal gold mine if we could send you some work of our own for you to see what we could work on just a suggestion it would be amazing

I loved your video about ball point pen art.
Excellent drawing my dear friend 👍👍
excelente amigo seus desenhos sao incriveis
As far as your camera, look into the settings. Set one focal point so it doesn't search for focus, set everything manually then run. I blow glass and when i got my s22 ultra it was a game changer. Your pixel is supposed to have a better camera.
i looove it 💘
I think you have a poltergeist in your studio
Was it the sudden cough? 😂😂
@@bobbyrebholz2183 yeah, and also 15:38 and 15:45. A strange entity lurks in there. 👻
I would love to make a living like you make a living doing what you love. Life is truly unfair to some people like me. I can’t tell you the hours I put into guitar and it’s just so hard making a living doing what you love. Somehow you found a way nice job
I’ve been trying to be a session guitarist for years and years and all that I do now is work dead end jobs and I’m getting too old to be a guitarist anymore. Really people don’t like hiring older guitarists who haven’t worked professionally before
Prolly the same with artists to if you don’t get in young your fkd
Beautiful creature Bobby. It is literary coming out of the mist! I don’t want to encounter him😅 greetings from Holland🌷
Thank you so much 😀
I love my Nikon z50, its pretty great for photography, but the long format video recording stuff is a bit of a high overhead
I'm not sure how much you're willing to spend, but I have a good camera in mind. I have used it before and it shoots beautiful video footage and the one I use is the cannon EOS 2000D and I take film so if you need help with video settings to find something that looks good I can help with that.
can you make a video of drawing a Chinese dragon.thank you
damat i got to practice a lot this atmosphere prospectinve. Its really cool but not easy to achive.
Can you draw a very detailed robot or machine?
Like with lots of cables, bolts and metal paltes?
hey, i posted a comment earlier, but i deleted it because i wanted to rephrase it... say thanks for the drawing tips. especially the ones about having patience and also creating different values.
I love your videos, creature design is really interesting and I love to do it myself. I have the problem that my creatures are often really cute, even if I don't intend them to be. It's probably because I studied a lot of mammals and only started to reach into other branches (like insects and reptiles) very recently. I wanted to ask how you make your creatures look so creepy and realistic. My creatures also look very tiny most of thee time for some reason. Do you maybe have any tips for me or do you have a video that touches that matter?
Sorry for my bad English and thank you for your videos, it really helps me.
Awesome job once again, are there any exercises you would recommend to practice texture(s) , right now cause I’m still learning anatomy, a lot of my sketches are how you explained the drawing turns to who knows what. The muscles and joints don’t line up anatomically. BIG🦶rules!
As far as textures go, just practice layering your strokes on top of one another. Because once that smooth coating is down, any markings you put on top of that will start to build up in numbers and textures start to emerge. Dots, scribble marks, cracks etc.
Will do! I practice my doodles or sketches daily since watching you…so thank you. 🙏 I always look forward to these lessons you go over.
what is the pencil you are using? Thank you!
4B
What pencils do you use?
4b and black primsacolor
damn
Serbagon thingymejiggy…….its part dragon….happy me. Thank you.
I can't seem to find the discord any help would be great.
It's in the description.
Paper?
Thanks

I disagree on the pencil grade front, you should have at least 2, a "hard" and a "soft". My recommendation is to first understand your paper, the smoother the grain (tooth) the softer the lead grade. With copier or notebook paper you can use a 2B as your hard, most drawing and sketch papers have enough texture to drop down to B or HB. From there go up a few for your soft, of instance if B is your hard 6B should be your hard. Better yet going with a soft medium hard setup covers all of your needs. Just remember there is such a thing as being TOO hard and TOO soft. Too hard = doesn't make dark enough lines and makes you press too hard, too soft = wavy, crumbly lines and uncontrolled smudging.
Please try to keep your camera in focus when you're drawing.
Autofocus is built in and won't shut off. It's my phone. I'm getting a camera.
