Great video. There was a bit of a lion king moment there at the top of the bluff. Gary and Zak reminded me of Mufusa and Simba. 😂😂😂 Spectacular shots. Well done.
I've climbed up to Marions lookout, overlooking Cradle Mt. I haven't gone further on the track - I choose to watch videos of other people doing it. The climb up Barn Bluff looks similar in areas to the climb up Mt Murchison (I've done that - about 20 years ago).
Awesome mate, really enjoy your videos. Looking forward to the series. How’s the family going? You left us at the end of your lap with a newborn. Hope all is well 😊
Hi Steve, thanks for posting this. I did the track the same time as you. In fact we were in the same bunk house a few times. Looking forward to seeing your next posts. Has Zac posted any of the footage he took yet?
Loved watching this video - I’m planning on doing the OLT in November this year, so you’ve given me great info! When is Part 2 dropping? Can’t wait to watch!
Tassie has so much to offer, you definitely picked a good time to go. Hint ... when you talk about Launceston, pronounce it Lonceston, we can pick a foreigner from the moment they speak 😏
We thoroughly enjoyed this video when it first came out and have been looking forward to the next instalment. In fact we were at Cradle Mountain recently and thought again about your series. So… is everything ok with you guys as it's been a while since episode one?
@@ExpeditionAustralia And what a fantastic episode it is too Steve. Many thanks for the effort you put into your videos. I really think you deserve way more subscribers. PS I also thoroughly enjoyed your garage series recently. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks. I’d go with my Keen Targhee boots which are very comfortable, light and waterproof. Some people prefer hiking shoes than boots but there are lots of rocks and tree roots on the track making opportunities to twist your ankle so boots are more protective. Also late April you’ll likely get more rain than we did. Might be worth checking out waterproof socks. I haven’t used them but I’ve heard good reports.
It’s not that dramatic. Hiked it for the first time thirty years ago and each time after, the degradation is palpable. Social media has ruined it. If you think it’s wonderful now, visit the Barrier Reef!
Great video Mate. I’m glad our sharing of footage worked out well.
Nice..... my son and I are planning our first overnight hike.... watching carefully....
What an incredible scene! Well done on all the hard work and preparation. So glad to see you all starting this track!

We are kings of the the wilderness 😂
Fantastic blog of your overlander track, I was wondering what is the best time of year to do this trek when wanting less rain.
wow amazing track, thanks for taking us with you. Looking forward to Part2 Steve
Happy I came across this! So well put together ☺️ can’t wait for the next one!

Thanks for the great feedback. Jen and the girls are doing great. The newborn (Sienna) is 16 years old now! Can you believe it?!

Hey Andy, thanks for watching. Episode 2 going live on Sunday (finally!) Zak hasn't posted any yet, I think he's not far off though.
My assistance dog is definitely gonna need a wash once we finish the track in November 😂
Great video, awesome challenge ❤❤

Great video mate, well done.
Consider drone shots! Would be amazing to get some drone footage!
Thanks. 🙏 Drones not allowed on the Overland Track unfortunately
Love it 😍
when is part 2 coming Steve?
Hey June, Ep 2 going live on Sunday morning :)
@@ExpeditionAustralia cool look forward to it
Singapore? That explains the reason the shed series seemed to just end not quite finished then 😂
Yeah I only managed to film a few videos in there before we moved!
Great Vid - what footwear would you recommend for OT in late April?

How long have you been in Singapore and why?
About 18 months. Jen took a job opportunity here. It's a good chance to explore SE Asia.

Pronunciation needs some work.
