Just got this one to the table, really enjoyed it. I especially like the jobs as I can’t recall anything like them in other big-box Uwe games (essentially public contracts that come up periodically and can be fulfilled in lieu of taking a normal turn). It’s subtle and maybe not technically a mechanism but I also like how the provision resource has two markers on the production wheel so it lets you choose whether you want to keep the markers on the same level or stagger them depending on how you want to manipulate the production wheel, thus rewarding deliberate planning.
The Traveling Merchant is such a wild card at higher player counts that you can never know where it will end up once it gets back to your turn! Just want to add some clarification that you can move the Traveling Merchant regardless of where your pawn is. You don't have to be in the same village as it or its destination.
Glass Road is a great game. It's amazing that games this great go quite a bit unnoticed these days. I think it is an improvement on Glass Road. I mean, Glass Road and this are really quite different games that share a mechanism but I don't think I will keep Glass Road anymore with this. I really like it!
This was also one of my favorite mechanisms. I never played Glass Road but my favorite part of this game was the resource wheels but more so the automatic production when you gain resources.

Thanks for that clarification!
