Unchanged since it was first built in the 70’s, Aiginitou Street apartment, located in the popular east Athens suburb of Ilisia, was completed remodeled by Do Designers into a practical, inviting and contemporary home, with lots of storage space, custom built furniture and a cozy Scandinavian feel. In redesigning the home, the floor plan was completely changed, moving the kitchen from a dark back corner into a new open plan living and dining space. While the bathroom moved into the kitchen's previous location, making room for a walk-in closet with full height wardrobes that leads into the adjacent bedroom. The kitchen, now slightly elevated to accommodate the new plumbing, is separated visually through the use of oversized white tiles throughout, with oak flooring leading into the living and dining zones. Here, a built-in floating wooden bench and a round table, doubles as both dining and working space. Storage is maximized in the living room by two custom built metal bookshelves at the entrance and a low unit which seamlessly extends into a floor to an open ceiling shelf.

This is perfect. Full size kitchen appliances and washer/dryer, full size couch, just big enough dining / multiple use area. And focusing on the client requirements by providing the bigger bathroom and closet space. Can't think of any recent videos on this channel that had so much storage without excessively complex solutions like moving furniture. Even lots of shelving to show items reflecting her style.

This is one of the rare small places that really feels like nothing is missing, nothing is sacrificed, nothing is compromised. I love it!
Tha's because is not small, 50sqmts is actually pretty big for big cities.
Well it's not really that small, especially for one person. It's also fairly uninteresting when it comes to design.
Love this apartment. As a single woman, I could tell it was designed by women and would be perfect for the client. They've thought of everything, from great shelves in the shower to wonderful closet storage. Love the kitchen and that there was room for a dishwasher.

Shifting the bathroom and kitchen around allowed a very dreamy walk-in closet! The serenity of the materials and colors, along with the light, must make the owner happy to get home. 👍🏼👏👏👍🏼
Although they never tell how they get the necessary pipes for the kitchen in the opposite corner of the apartement - could they tap into the plumbing of the neighbour?
10/10 design and colours, one of my favourite apartments so far! The white walls and the soft coloured furniture definitely help to make the space feel bigger and lighter ✨ I also absolutely love how they included a big fridge, a dishwasher and a walk-in closet in only 50sqm!!! Amazing job, really, I wish I could live in a house like this one 🥺
I think this is one o my favourite ones as well. Maybe i would use a slightly different accent on some walls, just to break the white. Nothing to flamboyant though
Love that our NTS residents are Tintin fans! Also, one of the best conversions, and most livable; the unit does not feel small or uncomfortable. Well done to the designers!

For Greeks it's rather unthinkable to not have a full size fridge, dishwasher and clothes washing machine in a house, no matter how small.
I really like that the sleeping space is completely separate. Murphy beds are great for guest rooms but it would be such a pain to use everyday

It's usually funny to see Scandi style apartments as I don't usually find them particularly Scandi - me being from up there and all. But this one definitely has a practical mid-priced Scandi style to it.
I have noticed that sometimes designers sacrifice (or don’t need) a decent size of refrigerator or television. Is very nice to see this objects in a small department. Very well done with the storage also. I love it.

@ the NTS team: i have noticed there are no subtitles available for this video. Sometimes the voiceover is not easy to understand due to heavy accents (or even words i as a non-native english speaker don’t know), so subtitles would make this a lot easier. Or perhaps allow the architects to speak in their native tongue and provide in-video subtitles (not generated by youtube)? It would make understanding much easier. ❤️

Full size kitchen, walking closet, big-enough bedroom and bathroom, lots of bookshelves, comfy dining area and lots of storage places. This one is totally my fav, well it has everything i need in small area. Good job!

That closet is to die for!!! The reconfiguration of this apartment definitely improved the flow and storage.

This one is a keeper. I'm most impressed by the space efficiency in this one. The house is tiny but the designers did truly brilliant job on maximizing every inch of the space.
The decision to move away the kitchen to extend the bedroom area is smart and makes room for that pretty impressive clothing closet area, a wonder for such a tiny house. The bathroom and the kitchen are also bigger with the new relocation. As a whole, the house is not only more beautiful but also feels bigger after the renovation. An amazing feat I must say.
Not to forget, the design theme complements perfectly with the new layout. The light-toned wood floor is beautiful and perfectly compliments the white walls, doors and many elements of the house. Stylish furniture like the little table in front of the TV cabinet and the plenty of picture frames hanging on the wall sparks charm and character to the whole space.

Definitely a woman's abode. There was a reason we once kept kitchens in a separate room --no one can relax after a meal when looking at the debris left behind by a Julia Child chef. And who wants to scramble to clean up when you should be spending time with your dinner guests? A great solution without turning the kitchen into a galley. I also love the bathroom having its own entrance where you do NOT have to trot through the master bedroom, too. The walk-in closet is an absolute gift. Well thought-out, bright and calm.
This is fantastic, love the colours, the textures, very cosy, practical, and would age well. Plenty of storage and full kitchen, this is fabulous!

Looooove the bathroom, 10/10. Especially the laundry closet. Floating bench attatched to the kitchen is a really smart touch too, haven't seen it done like that before. Only thing I'd change would be to remove the bookcase in the corner next to the tv. Probably swap it out for a tall plant or maybe a desk nook.

I like how much storage it has and also that the kitchen storage is mostly cabinets instead of open shelving (seeing the latter so often always just makes me think of how easy dirt or splatter can get on otherwise clean dishes and cookware). It's streamlined but not so over-designed that it still feels approachable.
I LOVE IT! As a Swede, I can appreciate the scandi influence but even more so, i just love how functional the design is. Its perfect. I could comfortably live in that space and like the prioritisation of a wardrobe over a large sleeping area.
Now that is one properly designed space!!! Well thought out with the right amount of space allocation and storage. Love it!

Glad to see a scandi style design being accomplished with what's available in my country. I really support the idea of white-washed, minimal architecture in Mediterranean regions, especially in rural areas but also in cities.

This is perfect. And this is also the perfect size apartment for 1-2 people. I see some comments that it's not "small enough" but personally I'm not a fan of the trend of trying to squeeze everyone into as small of a space as possible. This IS small compared to millions of houses/flats around the world, people in general live in houses that are far too big with stuff they really don't need. Everyone could be happy as a solo person or a couple living in an apartment like this and it wouldn't feel like much of a sacrifice at all. And on the flip-side everyone also deserves an apartment of this size if they are currently living in something smaller.

I love it. This apartment allows more functionality than a lot of much larger spaces.
Beautiful apartment. It really has everything. I live in a smaller apartment with more windows and really envy the wall space here. Natural light is nice, but you just need ENOUGH light but you can always use more wall space.
Way too bright, especially in the bathroom, last thing you want is to burn your retina in the middle of the night when you need to use the bathroom 👀😀

I can't believe this is 50sqm... it feels like double after the redesign. Other than the stovetop, everything is pretty standard size which is unusual in small spaces. Really well done!

I like the bookshelves in the main space (the wooden one catches the eye, the metal ones are functional!). I like the gallery wall above the couch. I would have added slightly more space in the foyer to separate the street shoe traffic from the main foot traffic of the apartment. The architects and owner showed us that some spaces don't need layouts gutted for improvement - these were a few changes in the layout that made a huge difference. The twinkly lights are sweet -- good to see her personality in this space!
