I like that music playing, Dereck. As for Tull's "Warchild", I absolutely love that album -- lots of cool "songs" on that album. Might not be for you -- but I am very keen on that LP myself. OF course Ponty ... :) Peace!
great finds for a dollar man! that's why it's much more fun for those of us that know somewhat what to look out for! especially at flea markets and junk shops.they're usually few and far between, but there are gems in places like that.i need some new outer sleeves bad! i like those really clear resealable ones. always good to hear from you Dereck.glad you got to see that trippy Japanese band the other night,i could tell it made your whole week!
Did'nt know you appriciated classical music, that was nice to see. Your taste runs pretty close to mine, I think; right now I'm playing Bela Bartoks"Conc.for orch." and Capt Beefheart "Lick my decals off, baby" back to back.
Nice Jackson Browne dollar find. Same with the ECM records. I love that 58 musicians comp. Love Tractor is one of my favorites and I have mentioned a few times in my videos. Can't believe you found that for a dollar. Anticipation is amazing! Roberta Flack is lovely.
Aw man I loved seeing those $ buys ,I wish I could pick those kinds of bargains up in the uk. Parcel of rogues is great btw. I bought that album as a kid 40 odd years ago ,love it.
@EoLoVoX I'd be happy to share what I can about the Ash. I was quite happy to find this stuff, it can't compare to ten cents. Years ago I had such an opportunity. It's amazing what you can find. Thanks for watching.
Excellent selection of Deutsche Grammophon pressings, and for a great price! Any chance you'd be willing to talk more about Wishbone Ash in a video at some point? I'm woefully undereducated with regard to that band, and I need to fix that. Broken English for $1 is a steal! So is Parcel Of Rogues!
Can't beat it, $1.00 finds of those Phillips HQ pressings alone. Great finds / mix. Many only know Brownsville as a 1 hit wonder, but yeah they made some really solid albums pre hit-post hit. Cub wrote a cool columns for Goldmine & Discoveries too.A fellow record collector.
@dereckvon - The 10 cent stuff was a steal but, when you think about it, it's pretty amazing that we can still buy good music on clean vinyl for a dollar or two.
Steppenwolf, another fave of mine since I was a kid. Much more to them beyond the hits. "7" was the first one i bought shortly after it came out. One of their best imo. "Renegade", Kay's recollections as a young boy escaping Germany with his mother. Read his bio. "Magic Carpet Ride" if you haven't.
I've always been a big Heep fan since I was a kid too, mainly Byron era. Jumped ship after the 73' "Live" album. But later finally filled in some holes with 'Sweet Freedom" & "Wonderworld" bother good albums. There's a really good bonus track "Sunshine" on the "Sweet Freedom" cd reissues. Nice thing about the bonus tracks with these guys is many were tracks that could of easily been swapped or things that made the album proper.
Beautiful records.appreciate the tour.DERECK...WOW BROWNSVILLE STATION .don't know their material.AGAIN chock full visit DERECK....MIKE IN JERSEY...

i uttered the same sigh when you showed Roberta Flack.... her voice is a special kind of magic!
