    Thanks. Prices in L.A. are at least twice as high as at that record show. Condition much better as well. Like the background chatter!

    So it's not just a clever name! Lol wish we had something like this in my town. I have a friend that runs an indoor fleemarket that had 1 record guy with 2 tables of records with 90 people wrapped around waiting to go through the crates. Total mayhem!

    With your recent dive into all things Rick Springfield ('Working Class Dog' and later), you should do a power pop video. It's my favorite musical sub-genre and one that doesn't get enough love. THX, Brendon!

    I think I might have purchased that Missing Persons LP, as I am currently in a new wave spell at the moment. I am spinning CDs by Divinyls and The Motels, as well. Got Dale Bozzio to thank for that new obsession! Looks like a great record fair in NJ.

    Good post Brendon. Nice to see the physical format is still alive and well.I saw Bram Tchaikovsky at the NEC Birmingham ( UK) support act for Rory Gallagher at the opening of the venue 1977/78? Bram was ok,Rory was brilliant (as usual) .

    Great video!
    That Sharks album looked in great condition. My copy is a bit shabby so I got the CD reissue.
    Some great glam metal titles like Dangerous Toys. We’d never see those in the UK. Some slightly high prices on the last table. Well done haggling the CD price down, I can’t haggle. Now looking for a record fair near me, that inspired me.

    Love Flint lp. Actually, all three musicians were from Grand Funk. Mel, Don and Craig!

  • @davej.meister5421
    @davej.meister5421 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's Grand Funk's bassist Mel Schacher (pronounced Shocker.) He's the tall dark afro dude in the middle. Don Brewer is the short dude with the wild dark afro. Grand Funk's keyboardist Craig Frost (played on five 70s GFR albums) was also in Flint (he's the blond-haired guy on the cover.) He would later play for Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band on the 1986 Like A Rock album. Too bad Flint's only album sold poorly. Has a lot of great arena rock style music on it.

    Great video Brendon! How do those $2 records sound? I'm always hesitant to even look through those for fear of getting a record that is more scratches than music. I do like the concept of buying vinyl if it's something I can't find a CD release for or just to pick up something that might be cool then opt to purchase later on CD.

    Brendon, I notice that a lot of these record shows always seem to have an older group of people. With the youth of today being into vinyl, how come the youth don't seem to attend these shows? Are they even aware of how conventions work? Same thing with baseball card shows.

    • @BrendonSnyder
      @BrendonSnyder  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don’t think they are aware of them. Plus most of the youth that are into records is because it’s hip now. Record shows are “hip” they’re for real collectors that want to dig for hidden treasure. It’s a shame because there is a lot to find at these shows. Maybe in time it will translate and they will show up.

    • @MrMetalminded
      @MrMetalminded ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BrendonSnyder I've honestly seen a lot of younger people attend the one big record show I attend. The sellers are mainly older though and some great conversations with them. Luckily there are a couple of vendors that bring hard to find CDs and imports. They are a ton of fun, very disappointing when I have to miss them.
