I wasn't aware of the existence of such an engineering marvel until, whilst playing Euro Truck Sim 2 I had a delivery taking me through it. It honestly absolutely baffled and took me off guard; I love bridges and their designs, and the whole of this is just pure genius. I do hope I get a chance to drive through it in real life sometime, the price tag seems worth it, as long as you're not a daily commuter.
Hi Americans. Noticed how the left lane is being used here? For passing only. Once they're passed the car(s) on the right lane, they move immediately to the right, and if theres a car behind them that is driving faster, they also move to the right to let that car pass. That's how it's supposed to be done.
I've driven across this bridge many times. It is an absolute marvel of engineering!! Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus in Denmark, Sweden has temporarily closed that bridge.
Awesome drive :) Btw, you could put a song Hollow Talks by Choir of Young Believers into this video, as it is the main song of TV series The Bridge (Bron | Broen)
Nice video!! Expensive for the bridge, but oh, what a drive. Almost worth it. lol :) Keep up the great work on your videos. :) Can't wait for the next one :D
@Antonio Ceccon Yes, you're right. If you have a pass you get half price. The toll is expensive because the bridge was built on borrowed money. The tolls will be removed when the loans are paid back, expected to be in 2033.
I wonder who drives to Kiruna via the Øresund Bridge, when it's much shorter to take the ferry from Kiel up to Gothenburg and then E45 and E10 to get there. Particularly if you're coming from the far south of Europe, because Kiruna is located towards the top of Europe at a latitude of almost 68 North, so if you're coming from the south it's at least a 3 - 4 day drive there.
Before the bridge was built we used to "tura" (make slow ferry crossings) with sandwiches, TUBORG beer and snaps. When buying chees and wine in Copenhagen we got free ferry tickets.
Good job European roads and for the DKK it's pegged to the Dutch,German,Latvian, & Estonian currency the Euro at 7.46038 DKK for €1 or $1.20 using Eur to use exchange and if I were you I would have used Loreen Eurphoria or Mans Heroes both are popular Swedish Eurovision singers in the Mälmo Copenhagen area. For the railway line iparallel to the E20 motorway Liverpool-Manchester-Leeds-Immingham-Odense-Mälmo-Stockholm-Tallinn it has 25kv 50hz voltage

I live in the USA. Never have been to Denmark or Sweden (even though I would like to, my grandpa came to the USA from Sweden). I was just looking at Google Maps and saw the bridge and I was like, that looks really cool. And it is. I would like to drive on that bridge now haha. But paying 56 euros would suck!
that is neat. Thanks for the POV journey. I had to laugh a bit your perspective of people driving fast at 110kmh. I can't believe how expensive toll tickets are.
110 kph speed limit... Quite fast unlike most new bridges and elevated highways built within cities, especially those in my country as the Philippines.
It was 35-40 euros 10 years ago. The tolls have gone up significantly. There are cheaper plans that require a subscription and transponder, which in theory is cheaper even for 1 return trip per year, but the annual subscription of € 41 scares off tourists from using it, especially if they don't go to Scandinavia every single year.
RangerCZ Geographic yea when i drived this route from Sweden to Denmark i was like holy sh!t. Btw its was nice trip from Finland to Germany and Netherlands.
@spinning nonsense but you have to hide in a refrigerator lorry or hold on to the axle of a fully loaded 16-wheeler to get anywhere. I'm personally not that brave...
Just too bad that you can’t tell from the view from your car that 200 or so meter stretch of land before you go in the tunnel you can’t see from the car your actually in the ocean from both sides

The tunnel is for the planes coming in to land in CPH Airport. The don't need high towers in front during that! And yes, ships are able to sail over the tunnel!
I enjoy the drive until the end when I see it cost €56 to be driven on...
It's interesting that there are no cyclists on this road. It's an important link. YOu would think you would see them.

Did you think it was free to build? Geez
@@TrueMathSquare no cyclists allowed on this road due to road-security reasons (tight with space, and difficult to build bike-path side-by side a 90km/h high-way)
Well, given it is per one vehicle, it's pretty cheep. If you're alone, you can use the train service; 120 SEK for one-way ticket (~€11)
And I thought NYC tolls were expensive wow

I drove over the Øresundbridge in 2005, incredible experience.
Driven over this a few times in Euro Truck Sim 2. Far more impressive IRL of course.
Was looking for this comment haha
So many times I’ve crossed this bridge. Amazing architecture and engineering. 🇸🇪🙋🏻♀️

It depends.
With car, approximately 50 euros. By train, approximately 10-15 euros. G’luck and welcome to Scandinavia.

The tunnel, the island and the stat of the bridge is in Denmark. Most of the bridge is in Sweden.
I see people don't use their indicators/turn signals when changing lanes there, either. I though the U.S. was bad in that respect.
