MJ is a rabbit hole player. The more you watch, the more you research the more you see why he’s labeled the goat. You will find out about stats and highlights that are either unbreakable or unheard of by any player and yet, MJ did it and the only one to do it multiple times. The indisputable goat.

What's amazing about MJ's record is, he had done it at the least time any great players of the NBA did, I am 66 yr old and I am watching this league since the time of Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russel and also I did watch the ABA those times, I've seen quite a lot of great players but there's no player like MJ, he's amazingly great, hands down! 🙂🙂🙂

No plumber crap, they had an all-star team when everybody else had a regular team. That's why Bill Russell's name only gets brought up in the Goat "debate" out of respect & admiration.
And Wilt can't even comprehend playing at the level MJ played. There's no narrative needed here, just common sense...How's Wilt's ball handing compared to MJ's...or his jump shot compared to MJ's...or his free-throw shooting compared to MJ,etc? You don't even need to get into MJ having 3-times the anount of championships Wilt has,or the 5 more finals mvp's,more reg mvp's,more scoring titles, etc.
      Per game all-time at his position MJ is 1st pts,1st blk,2nd stl,3rd reb & 5th in ast.
      That’s top 5 in every category,top 3 in 4 outta 5 categories.
He’s the only player in nba history to accomplish that.
He's #1 all-time in P.E.R. in both regular season and playoffs.
He’s #1 all-time in win shares per game/48 min in both regular season and playoffs.
He’s #1 all-time in BPM in both regular season and playoffs.
He’s #1 all-time in VORP per game in both regular season and playoffs.
He has the most scoring titles all-time (10)
      He made the most all-def 1st teams all-time (9)
He lead the league in scoring and made all-def 1st team at the same time 9 times.
Only two other players in nba history accomplished that for a combined total of 3 times.
      Kobe twice,Jerry West once.
MJ has the most trophies all-time with 22 in 1,072 games.
For context Bill Russell and his 11 championships is 2nd all-time with 17 trophies in 963 games.
Lebron is 3rd all-time with 16 trophies in 1,421 games so far.
Kareem is 4th all-time with 15 trophies in 1,560 games.
Wilt and his 72 records is 10th all-time with 9 trophies in 1,045 games.
MJ is the best & most complete player in nba history. He's the Goat.
(**Trophies are championships, finals mvp's,reg mvp's,ROY,DPOY,etc all counted up together)

Everything else i posted (that you didn't acknowledge) is an all-time stat regardless of position.
Feel free to post everything possible about Wilt. It's not just about individual record/stats...

Only player in NBA history to post back-to-back 50-point games in the playoffs. Most blocks in a season by any guard ever with 144. And for good measure, won the slam dunk competition.
No player, ESPECIALLY LEBRON have recorded all those accolades throughout their entire careers, and Michael did all of it in one season.

As a rookie , Jordan changed the Stadiums less than 1/3 of it capacity to full capacity instantly, fan were so amazed at his offense, they didn’t realize as a two way competitor who was as good defensively which greatly improved because most of his teammates were druggies and Archie’s, so he was accustomed to carrying the team, which led them to the playoffs from his rookie season until his retirement, which as a rookie, he was already feared by most of the league. It wasn’t until he faced the Boston Celtics led by Larry Bird and his Allstar team full of HOFs, who’s only game lost throughout the entire playoffs, by the Bulls, as MJ scored 63 points in double overtime, which is a playoff scoring record that still hasn’t been broken more than 20 years after Jordan’s retirement. Larry Bird and everyone else throughout the league regarded him as Air Jordan, The Black Cat, His Air-ness, and most respectfully Black Jesus

So let’s say every one of those records get broken each by a different player. Would you consider being 2nd in every one of those categories, than having 1 or say 5 categories being 1st and other categories not mentioned? So I feel even if all his records are broken, since he has so many of, as long as it’s not by one player, he’d still totally be the best basketball player

    Another great vid. Thanks.
Jordan is the greatest player I ever saw. I have been watching since the 70's.
The amazing thing about Jordan in the playoffs/finals is that everyone on the planet knew he was getting the ball, and there wasnt anything anyone can do to stop him. There was no game plan for stopping him.....or one that worked anyway.
I will also argue that Larry Bird is the 2nd best player I ever saw.
Having seen the league evolve into the no defense, give the player all the space he needs type league I can only imagine what Bird, Jordan, and Magic (to name a few) would have done to todays NBA. No hand checking??? WTF??
Drive the lane against the Pistons or the early 90's Knicks and talk to me about hand checking.....or left hooks.
Anyway.....if any or all of the records are broken (which I seriously doubt) they will be broken under a different set of rules that you cant compare to when the records were set.
There are some great players today, but my caveat is always they are great under today's standards. I try to imagine that player playing in the early 90's. Would they still be great? Some would I am sure, but there would be some players weeded out as well.

Second…..people sit here and try to tell me that he’s a better score than Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. I just laugh. Harden is scoring around the same amount of points in some other seasons while playing absolutely no defense so he is exerting all his energy on one end of the floor. Kob and Michael Jordan were putting up the same amount of points or more, depending on which season you look at while also Being elite on the other end of the court. exerting equals amount of energy on both ends. You are 100% correct he plays one end of the floor - takes 30 shots to score 35 points.
Players like Kobe/Jordan/Bird/Magic were killers. They wanted to kick your ass on offense (embarass you if possible) while totally shutting you down on defense. As long as Harden scores his points he couldnt care any less what the guy he is "covering" scores.
At the end of the day I am glad I got to watch basketball when I did. I believe I saw the best basketball the NBA had to offer 25+ years ago. I know that sounds like the old guy screaming "get off of my lawn", but I believe it to be true.

In fact, the maximum hang time a normal human being can manage is 1 second - no more than that. Michael Jordan's longest hang time record - the time when he remained airborne the longest - is 0.92 seconds. That's probably why he is considered to be so great. That is far longer than the average human being.

My biggest issue is the 100% fact that when Jordan was playing with the Wizards.. his coach had 0 faith in him and kept him out alot most games.. I really do think MJ could have scored 50+ and that 1 time he scored 40 is only because MJ gave the Wizards coach an ultimatium by telling him if you have no faith in me then I quit.. and that made the coach panic since he knew MJ was the best player on the team and would be labeled as the coach that made the greatest player ever to quit the game. Then when he actually allowed MJ to play the man scored 40 and the crowd cheered and chanted that MJ still got it when they were feeling like he couldnt anymore. The truth is he always could but the coach was holding him back.

    • @FakeGoatDebateReferee
      @FakeGoatDebateReferee ปีที่แล้ว

I witnessed MJ's 37.1 ppg season but more on that later. With the Trey chukking out there, it doesn't take much effort to get points standing at the perimeter shooting away with no physical defense allowed so LBJ has a shot at the 40 at 40 record, although it will likely be heavy on threes and especially also since he's trying to catch MJ. And with Adam Silver admitting he likes the no defense rules, nearly every player young and old have had career highs in either fg% and ppg the last few years, it's just unwatchable, especially with the easy free throws. James Harden won two scoring titles taking 2-3 MORE treys than regular fgs, and with many trey attempts just trying to get fouled with no chance of hitting. I cannot watch that, it's nonsense, ugly, lazy and low skill. It seems a lot of people who have never played are into this style of play since they cannot relate to the different skills and think this type of ball is "more skilled", that dribbling for 20 seconds and taking a step back three is impressive. That's what you do in the playground if you want to get kicked out of the game for being annoying and lazy. Going inside or midrange takes so much more energy, knowledge and footwork it's just a different class of scorer that requires the hardest skills - which is why only the best are good at it. And today's open lane drives are so easy you shouldn't even need the Trey if you are good enough, like the way Zion can get 30 on 60% with no threes. Zion is an 80-90s inside skilled player who is mocking the open rules and if he can stay healthy, more of that type of game will force the defense back in and stop everyone from pretending to be a Trey specialist like Curry.
Back to MJ. My favorite version of MJ was his pre-championship version when he was the most athletic and had that vicious hunger. The 37.1 ppg year was the most insane display of athleticism I will ever see. MJ did the bulk of his scoring on drives to the basket, which is incredible since the paint was packed with shot blocking specialists, which took so much energy and lack of fear. But it was so natural and effortless for him because he was just athletically superior and inhuman. And MJ wanted the challenge, to dunk on the biggest guy as it was in his nature to humiliate you, so the more you try, the more he comes at you. These drives created new shots every game due to his obscene hangtime and hands and that's why you watched him back then, to see something you never saw before. The rings, we knew they would come later when he had a better squad but for now, this was like watching the best individual person in an extreme sport do his thing. I would pray that he would have an off jumper so he could get his 40 on drives alone. With his jumper on, it was too easy and boring for him. And you did not want him to pass because it would be a waste of his gifts. You wanted him to score 50 in the air and see your team win. To this day, that version of MJ is demonic to me in his aggressive, dominance and gap above everyone else who has ever played. I'm still shaking my head and it's so impactful it's as clear as yesterday. Also it was amazing in that he could turn it in at any point. MJ always started games slow to feel the opponent out and let his team play. Often times he would "only" have 20 or so into the 4th, but if his team was struggling, he just took over, hitting 7-10 shots of all kinds in a row to demoralize the opponent and wow the crowd and end up with 40. He's the only player who could enter the zone on call because his athleticism, body control, improvisational skills and hands were a constant. And, that's the ultimate difference with MJ and everyone else, MJ's 37.1ppg was beautiful in it's creativity and energy and physical dominance. Meanwhile you have guys like Harden heaving 13 treys to get 30, only driving when there's an opening, and then getting lots of free throws on Trey attempts. And that's the style in general for most and also because it's encouraged by data analytics by people who have never played. It's just insulting and amateurish and scamming people really.

I disagree with you on your conclusions RE finals scoring. The scoring records were for FINALS...most points in a Finals half, most ppg in a Finals. The teams that are making the Finals in this era aren't being carried by one superstar. These records will hold unless the rules and style of the game change again. Think about it...41 ppg in a Finals. Shaq scored 38.0 ppg in 2000 and 36.3 in 2002. The highest since then is 35.8 in 2015 by Lebron (in a losing effort). It's now been 30 years since Jordan set the NBA Finals PPG scoring record. 30 years. Who in the league right now could you even contemplate doing that?
There's maybe 2 guys that could "get hot" during the Finals that would be in the position to do what Jordan did...but could they do it for the 4+ games needed to win the Finals? Giannis and Luka are the only ones I can see currently being capable of even trying it, more so Giannis because of his playstyle, but both are limited by one key ingredient. They're not very good Free Throw shooters, which Jordan was.
The majority of guys currently in the league that had the chance to challenge these records, didn't do it, and are now on the downward trajectory of their careers. Steph, Lebron, Harden, Durant, Dame, Kawhi, etc have no chance now. The likelyhood of these records being eclipsed is very low, at least by anyone currently in the league.

MJ got screwed on the MVP race in 'most' of his seasons. But MJ took this on the chin, where it was better for the league to spread the wealth around and Jordan fully understood this. The longterm payoff was that the MVP trophy was patterned on his likeness.

I think it was 830+ games not losing 3 games in a row...Could be mistaken. Also just want to clarify why Lebron might break most points in a game at age 40 is because players are letting him score. You saw it when LeBron was going to break Kareem's record. They let him score. No one contested that shot. Every player just stood back and let him shoot. They were all looking. He had all the time to shoot. Just really sad. No competition, it's not a game anymore. It's just give me money and watch me shoot...not play. Or even worse, pay me and watch me sit on bench cuz I need to do some load management...To me the game to day is 2 groups of men taking turns shooting the ball, running up and down the court with no contest. They all hugging each other during games, watching the shot miss or go in together! A clip with Trae and Luka watching Luka's shot go in together might seem wholesome, but during a game and not even attempting to block or steal...it's just sad.

You say you believe some of these records will be broken. The problem is its been over 30 years and you still waiting for that to happen. As a matter of fact, over 100 million people have died since 1987 and it still hasn't happened yet. Yes, someone will break 2 or 3 of Jordan's weakest records but not the 10 truely unbreakable records like the one I'm about to tell you.
Here's the record thats missing from the video. This is the reason why Jordan will be the GOAT forever. This record has only been done only 4 times in the history of the NBA, where a player has won "all six events"... 1) The Scoring Title. 2) The Regular season MVP. 3) 1st team all-defensive. 4) Led the playoffs in scoring . 5) Won the Finals MVP and 6) Won the championship. This has only been done 4 times in NBA history. Do you know who all 4 players were? Jordan, Jordan, Jordan, and Jordan. Nobody's breaking that record. Why? Because that player would have to do it 5 times, but no one else has ever done it once. 🤣
Now the real question is... When will someone come along and break ALL of Jordan's records? But that's what it will take to become the new GOAT. You think LeBron will be the one to do it? 😂

@@BU_TV If he came "so close" as you say, he'd have the same results. This narrative has no basis in the truth. I just wish they could've been placed in the league @ the same time. Then you would've seen how far superior MJ's game was. Mentally, MJ was worlds apart from Kopy-Kat Kobe. Look @ all the [accomplishments] that MJ has in comparison to Kopy-Kat. He stole MJ's patterns of speech, his walk, parts of his game. Jus RIDICULOUS!!!
