Good to see you showing some respect for the capsicum. I have on occasion overdone it myself. Back in about 1980 or so we grew some jalapenos here out in the garden. My Mom and I canned them up into quart mason jars, about a dozen bottles. After the jars cooled there was a couple inches of oil floating on top of the pickling liquid. Of course, being a teenage fool, I opened a jar and ate a whole pepper pod in front of my family. It took about a minute, but the heat hit me hard and I ended up in the bathroom purging, from both ends, which of course did little to ease the pain. It was like having a sword twisted in my guts. We ended up giving those pickled peppers to my Uncle George, who seperated the oil and made it into pepper spray. Even a humble jalapeno can kick yer butt. My own Chocolate Reapers are now about six inches tall from your seeds and are doing well despite the poor germination rate of 25%. I make peppers into sauce with garlic, wine vinegar, and salt, and dose it out by the spoonful so I don't get that belly burn. Take care, and may you all have a safe and happy pepper trip.

I also cant believe anyone could stuff a whole pod in their mouth and not spit it out. I struggle to get them going and big enough to flower. They're dropping leaves now.. We have a drought this year..
I'm from St.Vincent. I just saw in a vid that the reaper was made from a cross between a pepper from Pakistan & St.Vincent (most likely one of our Vincyland scotchbonnets). I'm from St.Vincent and didn't know this, i always thought it was crossed with the scorpion pepper from Trinidad (I love the chocolate scorpion from trini). We have super rich volcanic soil here in St.Vincent so anything that grows here even without fertilizers are of a higher grade quality than most other countries without volcanic soils . I'm trying to getvscorpion pepper seeds from Trinidad to grow in my backyard soon and I know they would be properly big and hottt in our soil !!!🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🌶🌶🌶👍🏼👍🏼
My son liked my habanero salsa but said it was not hot enough so I made it with 4 home grown Habaneros and slow cooked it for about 24 hrs. Tested it by getting some on my finger and touching it to my tongue. Great flavor but in about 30-40 seconds the blow-torch hit he. Before he tried it I told him it was HOT. He took a Nacho chip filled it up and put it in his mouth. Told me it tasted great but wasn’t hot. Shortly he was running to get cold water. (fire enhancer). He later ate some more but in SMALL quarries. Too hot for me. I would like to try the Reaper BUT could not cut a piece small enough. Enjoyed this video.
Hi, just wanted to say I love the videos and I’ve learned a lot from them in my first year growing peppers. I have a question regarding a topic I can’t seem to find enough info on. I have Carolina reaper plants growing with a lot of fruit on them. Is a Green to blackish/purple transition normal? Or should I be worried about a disease of sorts?
HONEST QUESTION: Is there any way to prepare for "passing" the spicy oils the next day so that it doesn't absolutely kill your rear end? I love spicy, BUTT the older I get, the more I physically pay for it the next day.

I also just wanted to see how hot the whole pod was.
I also was so nervous it took me 30 minutes to even plop it in my mouth.
Those tiny "spikes" or thorns are something I always look for on my moruga chocolate scorpion peps. I have a new ghost pep and it has little spikes too.
I also cant believe anyone could stuff a whole pod in their mouth and not spit it out. Ive been growing and eating these for about 10 years and I wouldn't never put a piece bigger than a watermelon seed in my mouth.
I want some tips on how to get them going from seed. I struggle to get them going and big enough to flower. They're dropping leaves now.. We have a drought this year..
I like the way that one dude was like, "no, I'm good" Smart man!
Thanks Ed. Bless

Always a fun time when Ed is around.
Any videos on how you make sauces? Like the salt and vinegar ratios and other ingredients?
I love cooking with peppers😃🫀🌶
Just subscribed, Ed Currie seems like a great guy. True legend!
Lol. I love the fear in the guests eyes as they all realize what they're getting themselves into.
You guys going to be doing a live Friday video? Always a great end to the week 😀
I believe we are Caroline! Our product production dictates whether we will or not for sure.
@02:35 Bella is game. Greg looks like my younger adult brothers when I say I have a new batch of hot smoked jerky!! 🐂🔥💋🌋🌋
Another Great Video!! Thank You!!
You be blessed as well. Beautiful peppers Ed.
If everything else looks good, probably just sunburn. If they're in pots you could turn it so the fruits get shaded by the leaves as best you can.
Gonna be picking a ton of peppers 🌶 possibly today, reapers as well, one day I have to meet the man, thanks Ed from crazy carolinian to another 😜
HONEST QUESTION: Is there any way to prepare for "passing" the spicy oils the next day so that it doesn't absolutely kill your rear end? I love spicy, BUTT the older I get, the more I physically pay for it the next day.
Bonnet flavor with the reaper heat...
THAT sounds like a good pepper.
I love that he's just casually playiong Pokemon GO at the same time
You're a good dude. I loved your ending talk.
I have a red ghost chili plant. Not sure when I can pick them..
I really like the flavor of scotch bonnet peppers, but they are right at my limit. Without the seeds and veins, I can enjoy them a lot more.
Heat in the seeds is a scientifically debunked myth
CrimFerret once I bought bunch scotch bonnet peppers made sofrito for rice. Whew that rice was hot for awhile. Lol I still remember the flavor was so good of those scotch bonnet peppers.
My absolute favorite pod is yellow 7 pot and it's just as good if you cross it with a yellow ghost
I love the PexPeppers' Shirt Garret Peck is the man!
