The Macro is my one. My everyday clothes, even in the summer, allow for concealment with no issue. I have several Vertx short and long sleeve shirts that do the trick, wear them everyday, even in the pulpit when I preach.
I carry my Macro probably 98% of the time. You just can’t beat it’s size and capacity. Glad to hear you keep it on you at all times because you just never know anymore.
I try keep the number of guns I own and the number of holsters to a very low number. Muscle memory for one system for me always works best. I carried the Glock 23 10 years ago. Lived abroad for 7 years and now to the Sig 365 Macro. Thanks for this video
I totally get the mentality on this. I am unfortunately picky when it comes to firearms. Have bought and traded way too many. However after multiple firearms and thousands and thousands of rounds through different platforms, I can operate pretty much anything with minimal effort.
I agree with your choice. I have the Macro X (non-comp), the standard 365, the 365 X and the 365 Fuse, as well as the Shield, the G19 and others. The 365 XL with a spare mag carrying 17 rounds fills the bill better than the others for concealed carry, in my opinion. I also add Wilson Combat grip modules to all of my Sig 365s as they feel perfect in my hand.
I believe a Glock 19 size is the smallest fighting pistol I think there is. Smaller frame pistols to me could be problems. With a Glock 19 there is plenary of ammo, plenty of spare parts, plenty of mags, more reliable than most, etc…. I like you carry thr Sig X Macro leaving the 1911. Good videos and of great challenge to thinking what would I do.
Due to my location, my 70% of the time gun is my p365x. My others are my lcp2, p365, and p320 xcarry. I am planing on grabbing the 365 axg legion macro. If I could only have one it would be my regular 365. Great video and let’s face it, any of the guns on that table are excellent guns.
I have several SIG P365 models and like them. A lot. But if I could only have ONE EDC pistol, I'd keep my Wilson Combat EDC X9. Absolutely one of the finest pistols I've ever owned. For accuracy, capacity, concealability, and 100% reliability, the WC EDC X9 is a package that can't be beat. And ohhhhhh that trigger. It puts ALL of the striker-fired plastic fantastics to shame.
My EDC, the OG P365 with the safety switch. Sometimes I switch the slide from my XL onto the short grip. The short grip doesn't print at all on me. No one knows I'm carrying, not even a hint unless my shirt rides up. 10+1 with a 12rnd backup mag. Gonna order a few magguts upgrades soon to make it 12+1 and 14 rnd backup.
If I could find a hellcat used I'd try it but I wouldn't buy it new out of a distaste for Springfields past actions. I'd go with a 365 variant too, or the 43x.
Great video! I sold my 320rxp x compact after I got the macro grip module for my xl. I carry appendix and didn’t trust it with all the rumors going around. Idk if they’re true but I didn’t wanna take that chance lol. The macro is smaller, more comfortable to carry, has a lower bore axis, higher capacity, and I actually shoot it better than I shot the 320. For warmer months I rotate through my 365x, 43xMOS, and shield plus pc I had milled for a red dot.
My wife carries a P365x that she stole from me! I still miss it 😂 I will definitely be getting another and will probably make mine better than hers with the upgraded FCU lol
@@gearrunner yea I carry the CZ for now, but definitely going back to a P365x ASAP. Hers has the Icarus grip and she doesn’t shoot as much as me so good there, but that grip gets hot after a few mags. Definitely going another route for my purposes. Any suggestions???
I carry sig 365 x with mag gut springs giving me 14 rds. I bought two 17 rd mags that come with adapters for the 365 and the 365 x. Thats my set up, 365x 14 rd mags and one in the gun with one 17 rd mag as back up. I have others but as you, this is my favorite. I agree with you on the macro. Just little too big for me. Enjoy watching your video's .
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have and carry a 2.0 Shield. I think it's a nice looking gun. I'll tell you what I'll never carry. a Sig Striker fire handgun. I'll carry the Sig hammer fire handguns, Sig p229/226. But I will never carry their striker fire handguns on any level. I just do not trust them. It's way too many lawsuits out there. Great video though. And hopefully you won't be part of the class action lawsuit.
I thought you were going to choose your Wilson Combat EDC. I carry my Kimber Ultra Carry II, 3" in 45 ACP at the 3:30 position IWB. Do you have any experience with Ed Brown pistols? Merry Christmas to you and yours, Gear.
Thank you Stinger and Merry Christmas to you and your family as well. I really like my Wilson but have a video coming up on why not to carry high end pistols. I don’t have any experience with Ed Brown but I have owned a Les Baer and it jammed all the time.
Im a sig fanboy... BUT my xmacro is too long in the grip for me to carry it's the same size as a g17, I carry it with the X / Xl grip frame when I do carry it. but with all the issues ive been seeing with the trigger and rust problems my Sig now sits on the shelf. Summer carry is the LCP Max and winter carry is the Glock 19, At least when the LCP max rust I know I didn't pay $850 for it like I did the xmacro on release.
You mention looks on the M&P, I think looks matter more than most people want to admit. If you think your gun looks cool, you'll be more inclined to carry it despite any discomfort. If nothing more than being able to show your buddies, Obviously looks aren't the only reason you should be carrying but I really do think it's something to take into consideration.
I agree, if I can carry a reliable boring looking pistol vs the same reliability in a cool looking pistol I’m probably carrying the cooler looking pistol as long as I don’t give up any reliability or accuracy.
I agree with the logic here. EDC means every day. I need to be able to conceal it year round. I prefer my Shield Plus because I found the grip on my P365XL’s grip too small.
Hard to argue with your conclusions Gear Runner, at least from my experience. I own the Sig P365 Macro, and the P365XL (w/MagGuts internals). During my Arizona summer, I tend to CCW the XL... but my Cajunized CZ P-01remains my winter carry and my all-time favorite pistol. It's 7# DA and 3.6# SA trigger pulls are buttery smooth and it's short trigger reset is amazing.
If I had to guess you would have picked that I would have been wrong... I used to be a black guy 10 years ago I switched over to CZ and only last year I gave the 365x a shot. And for the reasons why you have chosen it has to be if you only have one it's the same reason why after a year I feel the same way. I can conceal it under any circumstances any clothing any weather conditions I have 12 + 1 and of course I too travel with additional 15 rounders plus one. All things considered the suitability the size and the capacity along with price make it the best overall option totally agree.
I'm a smaller dude -- 5'3ish 140lbs -- the P365XL feels awesome in my hands -- but the issue you had with the macro I have with the XL. The handle sticks out a little. I may have to look at the P365X which has a little shorter grip handle vs the XL. But I decided to look at the Glock 43X MOS. The low capacity kept me away but I like how it feels on my hands. I got the Shadows Systems CR 920 -- a Glock 43X clone. It conceals better on me than the P365XL. But recently, I found the P938. Even though it only has 7 rounds, it practically disappears on me while shooting as good as the Shadow Systems CR 920 and Sig P365XL (for me). Maybe if I were a bigger dude, I'd be able to conceal a P365XL.
I have Glock 43x and xl and that handle is too long for me to conceal on the 43x compared to my xl. Just a thought but maybe you should go with the regular 365.
If you carry appendix only, if you get a quality holster, you can easily carry guns with a full length slides. I invested heavily into 2 platforms. Gun glock 43/43x/48Mos. Holsters Tenicor! The velo4 and Sagax Lux2. With these holsters you get no pokes in the junk region! They make them only for top selling guns like Glock and Sig.
Could you screw one of those micro comp thread protectors on there and see if you detect and difference in recoil? I’m leaning toward a 365x with threaded barrel and screw on comp myself.
Great topic! Do you find yourself switching up holster type or carry modes to accommodate what you want or need to carry? I try not to switch up the pistol (work vs edc), but it drives me crazy that I have to switch up carry modes to make it all work.
I usually use the same types of holsters for all my pistols with very few exceptions. I always carry appendix and 99% of the time with a sidecar holster

So far, I have shot and had positive range experiences with the following pistols: Sig P365-380 Sig P365X & XL (9mm) Glock 19 Glock 43X & 48 Glock 26 S&W Equalizer Shield Plus (it's actually become one of my favorites to rent) M&P 2.0 Compact (considering purchasing the Subcompact little brother) Ruger Security-9 Canik Mete MC9 I will say that in my experience, the G19 feels like it might be just a tad too big for my hands, so I'm reluctant to choose it as a primary carry even though it's proven itself to be reliable. I'm also fairly small at 5'2" and 107-115 lbs, so I'm not sure that the G19 or any other true "compact"/"mid-size" would fit my frame very well for IWB concealment, especially in warm weather (I live in the South, so it gets pretty hot in the summer). Gun guys have to be the pickiest people in the world. Give me anything, i dont care what it is with iron sights and im hitting the target. I dont need special triggers and red dots and all that bullshit. I also dont carry tacticool appendix so anything also feels fine at 3-4 inside the waist Edit: also dont need 17 rounds to hit the target. 10 is plenty. Keeps it nice and light
The glock 19 or 26 are still imo the best for, if nothing else, the reliabllity. Even new designs like the sig m18 and walther pdp compact has choked on basic ball ammo. G19 is the onlty thing im confirmed in
I get it’s personal preference….but to me optics and flashlights added, you’re carry a miniature suitcase on your waste. Learn your preferred edc without the extras. Practice practice practice.
Interesting way of spelling "bigger." With less capacity. Unless you spend $40 extra on unreliable mags. I've seen more proof of Shield mags failing than new 320s going off without the trigger being pulled.
You know you’re in the golden age of carry guns when someone says “glock 19” and “lack of capacity” in the same sentence 😂

The revolver is more accurate and reliable than any self-loading pistol
Ammunition is readily available both in .38 special and .357 and hand loading is less troublesome with a larger range of hand loadings available
Compared to auto loading cartridges
The only two real drawbacks you may have is magazine capacity and ability to conceal carry
However if you know what you are doing
These are not a problem

Well, I only have one, and it is the p365-X.
Sig often have negligent discharges. No thanks.
Looks always matter.
Agreed
Gun guys have to be the pickiest people in the world. Give me anything, i dont care what it is with iron sights and im hitting the target. I dont need special triggers and red dots and all that bullshit. I also dont carry tacticool appendix so anything also feels fine at 3-4 inside the waist
Edit: also dont need 17 rounds to hit the target. 10 is plenty. Keeps it nice and light
The glock 19 or 26 are still imo the best for, if nothing else, the reliabllity. Even new designs like the sig m18 and walther pdp compact has choked on basic ball ammo. G19 is the onlty thing im confirmed in
P365 sometimes my glock 17
I get it’s personal preference….but to me optics and flashlights added, you’re carry a miniature suitcase on your waste. Learn your preferred edc without the extras. Practice practice practice.
Bad things happen at night. You need to know your target and what’s beyond it. You can’t do that in the dark without a light
Adding extras later is fine. But I think people should master irons first.
@@Catgat37 once you get older and those iron sites become blurry it's time for a red dot.
Colt SAA FTW
All year around edc Glock 45..
Kel-Tec P17
P365 AXG LEGION
@@bartcornelius7717 I picked one of those up a month or so ago. I just shot the video this past Friday and need to edit it.
Glock G45
P365x is the best edc!!!! I have the magguts +2 Wilson combat grip hson 507k gr it’s the best and it’s not even close
Makes no sense at all…you say the x macro grip is too long for edc but then shows a gun with an threaded barrel…never seen edc with a suppressor on it
The grip is to long. That’s what prints not the barrel!
Macro in a QVO More Discreet
The smaller guns just don’t work for me, but I agree the 365 is quite the CCW.
43X IS BETTER
That’s a matter of opinion
@@gearrunner THATS EVERYBODYS OPINION
@@buddy9577 NOT MINE!
Not mine either
Interesting way of spelling "bigger." With less capacity. Unless you spend $40 extra on unreliable mags. I've seen more proof of Shield mags failing than new 320s going off without the trigger being pulled.
I'll take the 19
I'll take the 48
