I am about to start diagnosing my electric scooter and am hoping I can fix it myself because this is my second electric scooter that cost a lot of money. My first electric scooter was actually an e bike and it quit working after I rode it in light rain on accident. - I never did that again… but that one hasn’t worked since- unfortunately. I really don’t know if it will ever work since I probably did damage to it and then my ex husband tried to fix it and probably ended up breaking it more and losing parts to it. He can’t fix ANYTHING and ONLY ruins things after pulling them apart. So- here I am trying to learn all I can from YOU!! Thank YOU for all of this and your excellent instructions and information. Rico your video is very informative. Lots of very important tips that I can not find in other videos. If I may ask you a simple question please: My controller that is NOT plug to a battery got shorted accidentally when I was cleaning the positive and negative terminal. There's a spark when I plug it back and tested the motor it won't run anymore. Which part do you think got damaged. can this still be repaired ? When I turn to ON the display lights and fades slowly disappear. Your advice is appreciated. Thank you.
Hello sir. If happened like this got spark even without battery because of the power stock in the capasitor. Controller can be running. But if you unit is electric scooter and the display power come from controller, maybe your controll has a problem. But i didn't try yet to fix like this problem.
Its most likely you fried your controller. To prevent this from happening again, use XT90 anti-spark connectors. They have a small resistor built in to prevent spark from the high current discharged from the capacitor in the controller. Wire the XT90 connector between the battery and Controller. It will solve the spark problem. Another option connect a DC Circuit Breaker 12v-100v 80-250A. You can switch off the circuit breaker before you do anything to your battery or controller wiring. Dont worry about the amps as the purpose of using the DC circuit breaker is to prevent the spark. I know this message was many months ago, i hope your problem already solved. Be safe everyone!
Wow, Master Rico! Thank you so Much! I watched your video like 6 times. My Father's eTrike had a loose battery series connector on his newly built by me the amateur 🙂( wires were too short ) and it would die on the road especially over large bumps. Wow, your "UNA" check Battery/Fuse. So Simple So Genius. Loose Series Wire was my Culprit caused by me. Thank you for all the DETAILS. I can return the replacement controller.

Hello po. Kadalasan pag tumataobo mag isa controller ang problem. Pero pwede rin pag maluwag yung socket ng throttle or may tubig sa socket ng throttle or pwede ring yung throttle mismo ang sira.

Hello po. Bak po sira na yung switch ng reverse oa kaya loose connetion yung mga socket ng reverse line/wire papunta dun sa controller.
Try mo e spray ng WD40 yung switch at mga socket kung mag tino ba.

No pedal assist on Jupiter Discovery bike. No magnets on rear wheel like on a Rav bike. so must be in the crank? Thank you for any help.
Most of ebike the pedal assist sensor and magnet is mounted at the middle gear/ crank.
