Of course people are hating on the girl saying she's Italian decent...what else is she supposed to call herself. People need to remember, especially Europeans, that white Americans came from somewhere else they are not natives. Calling them just American is disrespectful because they are not natives of America and they never will be. They will always be white with ancestors from Europe.
What does "native" even mean? The human race didn't start in Iceland either, but people still consider those that are part of the predominant ethnicity there to be natives. We humans tend to make everything about heritage, trying to exclude people based on it instead of celebrating differences.
Was she born and raised in America? If so, then she's American. Simple as that. The race/culture/nationality of her parents doesn't define her.

When I found out that the father of my grandmother came from Poland, that meant something to me, even if it doesn't make me polish. But you can see it in my bone structure, my hair and my eyes. Most people would say I'm from East Europe. So it shows in your looks where your ancestors come from. And sometimes also in your behavior and the way they raised you.
With that thoughtprocess there really are no natives anywhere though. All peoples arrived to a country at some point. I mean then we can't call the english native of england either, because they arrived from all corners of the world, integrating with the celtic people who already lived there. And the celtic people most probably killed the people who lived there before THEM according to historic sources. It makes it all rather difficult.
It's not that she's supposed to call herself something else, it's that she shouldn't really be in this video. The difference between her and the others is they have a clear heritage taut impacts their life and she just has some Italian cousins and that's it. She's white and it's kinda embarrassing here
I genuinely don't understand why people have to say that just because all European are white that means we all look the same . Sorry guys but us Europeans have many physical differences related to the country we were born in. Italians are not like British people, danish are not like Spanish people and so on. Please stop criticise her just because she said she has Italian origins , because ,to me, that makes completely sense .

Yes, obviously she doesn't look Italian to most Europeans but almost all white Americans have a mixed European background nowadays. Europeans are very diverse, it's easy to distinguish between a (non-mixed) Polish person and a ( non mixed ) Italian person. If you don't think Europeans are diverse you obviously don't know the culture and really shouldn't talk about it. The ignorance of non-Europeans about Europe is pathetic sometimes.

Kyle Davis black people were barred from different places depending on their skin tone for many years. and slaves that were lighter would be treated different from slaves were darker. It's something that has not changed for as long as his country has been a country. darker skin women don't have the same marketable Beauty in many Industries as lighter skinned women. It shouldn't be that way but it's still is.
momogurl I agree that people need to be accepting of all skin tones and especially their own. I'm not sure but it appears that most people find their own race most attractive (not being racist), so maybe that's part of the so called ideal beauty image being different in different areas. Kyle Davis on the aspects of skin color, lighter being better is a beauty standard that has been forced on people of color for a very long time. the ideal of European beauty being the best is a long he'll tradition and its sad. Now I don't doubt that people are attracted to their own race more than others. I think that really is an individual thing for the most part. I personally have no limitations that area I like all races. But there are some people who are attracted to other races of lighter skin because they hate their own dark skin. it is a psychological issue that had been created by the institution of slavery. not only slavery but it's also a class issue is well. If you were poor you were in the Sun and you were treated like you were less. And some countries, the darker you are the less desirable you are like in India. It is a huge topic and one that will take a long time to really go through. There so many layers.
momogurl I see what you mean. I know that pale people are considered less atractive than someone that's tanned according to social standards in the U.S. is darker skin also considered less desirable in primarily black nations, such as northern parts of Africa?
momogurl yeah when I said tan people in the U.S. are preferred over pale, I meant within the white community. But yeah there isn't one image of beauty and media all around the world needs to promote diverse depictions of beauty. I don't think that will change though until we get everyone confident In who they are. It's definitely a complicated issue in need of change

Face - sharp nose , big eyes ( even better if they are light) with big lashes, thin lips, fuller cheeks(preferably pink) and fair complexion that flushes.

Well I personally split where I live and where my parents, my grandparents or even my great-grandparents came from into two parts of me. By this I mean that if somebody was to ask 'where are you from?' on the internet where they can't see me and so don't know where I live already, I'd reply 'I was born in Australia but from my parents I'm half Italian and a bit Greek and Irish'. So yeah, they're all American, but they were only talking about their race from their family, not from where they live.

Why is lighter skin somewhat coveted in the black community? And being a white girl, I've been made fun of for being too pale. Is it just everyone wants what they can't have? People with darker skin are told it should be lighter, people with light skin are told it should be darker. People with curly hair are told it looks messy and they need to straighten it, people with straight hair are told it looks limp and they need to curl it. Heavier people are told to lose weight and skinny people are pressured to gain. It sucks beauty standards are so rigid and unattainable. (Edit: Thanks for so many likes ❤️)

i’m a black female and growing up i constantly felt that my skin should be lighter, i should gain more weight, and should have more curves because that’s what the beauty standard was. it was interesting to reflect myself on to how freddie was photoshopped to look more “beautiful” and think. this video definitely made me feel a lot more confident in the body i am in.

Mathew Tillson but what is white? Every ethnic group has a culture identity and they know where they come from. Saying that you identify as white doesn't tell people anything. It's basically a poster sign saying oh I don't know where I come from. If you identify as Italian American or from some other European country then sure be proud of that.

I think it's fine to say you're 1/4 of something as long as the grandparent that 1/4 is coming from is 100% said heritage. If your grandma is full Italian, and your mom is half, you would be 1/4 and I think it's close enough in relation to you that you can embrace it.

As a Mexican American woman I’ve been told I should have curves in “the right places” and a small waist and long full wavy hair. I am flat chested, no butt, and short thin hair. 🤣🤣🤣
and still looks just as beautiful as a girl with a small waist big boobs and wide hips, your body is perfectly shaped the way it is and should never be changed. in my opinion there is no such thing as “curves in the right places” cause technically everyone views “right places” differently. everyone does not share the same views with eachother on beauty. we all like different things and that’s a good thing. there are so many people who will love your body type, you just surrounded by the wrong people that’s all. you are beautiful

I think that's because they're basically the same as American standards. Big boobs a bit of a booty, slim waist. Although we don't seem to have adopted the scary thigh gap trend yet. Even the trends with Hair and Makeup are pretty much the same here as the are in America.

I don't mean this is in a rude way at all but I think Kiersten should lose weight to be healthy. Obesity is not healthy and I want her to be heathy
She has PCOS (as she's said many times in previous videos)- it's incredibly difficult to lose weight when you have it. It's not that she doesn't want to- it's that she can't since part of the condition causes weight gain.
In order for her to lose weight she'd have to workout for several hours (depending on severity 3+ would be my guess) a day and be on an incredibly strict diet- no sugar, no fat (no cheese, diary, meat), no carbs, etc.
She also can't have any children, and faces a numerous amount of other issues due to a condition that she was born with.
So what you're saying that is that she can lose weight but isn't willing to put in the effort? I agree. Weight gain doesn't occur magically, it comes from the (over)consumption of calories.
Mabon You don't have to work out at all to lose weight, regardless of what conditions you have. You just have to eat less.
Somebody Else It's not that simple with PCOS. The condition causes Cysts to form in the ovaries. This causes a handful of other issues to crop up. One of them is the inability to lose weight. Another is facial hair. Infertility is another of the most common problems. PCOS slows metabolism and while it doesn't affect your hormones, per say, it does affect you with other imbalances, causes the weight to be piled on, despite eating habits. While eating healthy will slow the weight gain, it doesn't prevent it. Again, with working out, it can slow it, but the only true way of somewhat reversing the effects PCOS has on the body is to go on a very strict, very difficult diet. For a lot of women, it just isn't possible because of the amount of work, time, and general lifestyle change that needs to go into it, as well as other health risks involved with the condition.
It is very much possible to lose the weight, but to what cost? Keeping it off for years as well is again, nothing to sneeze at.
I just want to clarify something for everybody. And before I begin, this isn't meant to attack anybody with PCOS or Kristen. I have PCOS and was diagnosed at the age of 10. Yes weight gain can occur in excessive amounts and it usually builds around the midsection. Yes hormones are out of balance and we have an increase in testosterone as opposed to normal women. But no it doesn't make weight loss impossible. In fact, just last year I lost 30 pounds because I was sick of the way I looked. I lost it VERY quickly in 1.5 months following a VERY strict, no carb no sugar diet. I have kept all the weight off and even lost five additional pounds. It's absolutely possible to lose weight with PCOS you just have to be dedicated like any regular person!! It's also a life style change, not a temporary one.
Honestly, they all look perfectly beautiful as they are originally.

I would agree with you except for the fact that American is a broad culture. We are all influenced by similar lifestyles. What would you say your culture is? why can Italians say their culture is Italian and American's can't? Are we characterized by our state? Because most of us nowadays have no cultural ties to our European/Asian/whatever it is ancestors unless it's very minor or the family has sought to keep it alive. Still I would count their culture to be "asian american" or "italian american" 2 cultures are influencing them. Because we are more connected than ever there's even talk of a global culture.

You can be black, and not be from African American culture. You could be Haitian or Jamaican, and many more. @@godzilla4005 They vary a lot, they have "versions" of beauty standards. Long hair and feminine curves are appreciated everywhere I feel like. And it's very achievable with a healthy way of eating and enough physical training.
