I still have that Spider-Man CD from when I was a kid! I would've loved to see Joel install the screensaver from it. If memory serves me right, it's got some creepy ambiance playing in the background while a web sits in the corner. Text pops up telling you the, "experience starts on the web". You can then move your mouse around the web until after a while, it gets stuck. After that, a spider crawls down and eats your cursor before throwing a bunch of garbage at your screen, telling you it's a teaser for the Spider-Man movie. Good ol' 2000's nightmare fuel! I hardly miss ya!

If I had to guess, the screensaver was either made in Macromedia Shockwave or Flash, and you could force mouse movement to not interrupt the screensaver and just make a close button for it instead. Source: I actually made several personal game screensavers using Flash 8.0 as a kid, including one for The World Ends With You and Shadow of the Colossus!
