We got away with simply bashing the top of the door to free ours!!! Brilliant content, this will save E53 owners a fortune in garage costs!!! The doors/handles on these are to be desired let's say... 😡 Great job!!! and Thankyou👍🏼
Same symptoms as this video, the trick to mine was: Partially (half) opening the exterior handle, while locking and unlocking with the key fob a few times. I assume whatever that does, reverses what caused it (which I think is possibly someone opening the door while it's being unlocked...) Thanks for the video certainly pointed me in the right direction without pulling apart anything :D
Unfortunately sometimes they are too internally corroded and the door latch needs to be replaced. I ended up replacing the latch with a used unit just before I sold the car as the problem eventually came back. To replace the latch the video already gets you about 80% of the way there. Past having the door card and membrane peeled back its one electrical connection, one ball and socket from the outside handle and 3 screws.
@@surreyhustle517 after a couple of hours soaked with WD40 and operating the lock and unlock with the key it seems to be working fine........(for the moment) fingers crossed
I have the same problem with the front of the right door, only that when I lift the handle from the inside, that black butok also lifts and it still doesn't open, it's blocked! it does not open either on the inside or on the outside! how do I solve it?
thank you for sharing. I replaced the Rear Right door lock carrier on my E53 this afternoon, and now I have the same problem, door closed & won't open. I wonder if you can remove the interior door card without removing the rear seat ? or isn't there enough room to unclip the lower rear panel ? Otherwise I'm up for removing the seat as well.
@@string2155 other then pulling the cord and pushing on the hatch, your only other option is to maybe take off the interior panel and see what is bound up and or broken. I would try to trace the cable from the pull cord as far I could to see whats going on. Sorry I'm not much help with your situation, I've never encountered it before.
Thats quite a pickle! You will have to get creative. I am assuming both rear doors do not open? If all the tricks outlined in the video are unsucessful you may have to bend the seat bottom in the middle while removing to get access to the door panel to remove. It will be super tight working quarters.

Didn't need to progress to plan C. 😁 nicely described and demonstrated. Cheers.
Thank you Sir. got the same problem with the rear door Great help for this problem.
Preciate it gang you helped out hella
Easiest fix is to put a jump start battery bank across the terminals in the engine bay and then use your FOB to unlock the boot .... 20second fix
I had the same problem, your video was a great help, I used WD40 and lubed all up....it kept sticking so need to find the permanent solution

You could definitely try. Im just not sure there will be enough space to disengage all the door panel clips.
needed this ! thank you!

Help! Do you have something for the rear tail gate? Neither the key fob nor the manual release latch are working.
When u say manual release did u try the emergency release from the inside on the hatch itself?
@@surreyhustle517 you mean the pull cord? Yes, that’s not working. Is there another manual release?
