Jim Harbaugh: The most polarizing coach in all of sports | Outside The Lines

- In 20 years as a head coach at three different colleges and with the San Francisco 49ers, Jim Harbaugh has proven to be the rarest of commodities: A consistent winner. Now the Michigan head coach has his team back in the College Football Playoff playing Alabama in the Rose Bowl with a berth in the National Championship Game against either Washington or Texas on the line. But 2023 has been different for Harbaugh and his team, with two separate NCAA investigations taking place and the program parting ways with several members of the coaching staff for disciplinary reasons. And Harbaugh has faced discipline too, six games worth of suspensions, with possibly more to come next year.

As soon as he mentioned players getting part of the revenue they started to go after him. He's a great ball coach.
Ah amazing you're a genius it's a conspiracy, great work man! You put it together, you're actually immune from consequences if you ever say anything good!
@@jeffreyoa8628you are a slavemindfool. Low IQ
Him and his family has done great things for the sport of football in general. Great football player and great coach " I always like to see players give back to the sport .
Imagine if Jim and John both get a champion this year
He’s polarizing to the extent that the media make him that way. Go Blue!
He's only hated by OSU fans and the media. I'm a UCLA fan and Nebraska alum but Harbaugh has always been interesting to me
Nah. Not “He's only hated by OSU fans and the media.” /
He deserves a lot of respect.
As a 49ers fan, i will always root for this man
Pete Thamel has been milking this like a midwest farmer on grocery delivery day. The fact that this has gotten so much attention over other dealings going on in CFB over the last several years is ridiculous. That includes ESPN/Disney snubbing FSU (I get they may not be in the top 4 best teams, but if you think that decision was based on anything other than TV markets and $$$, you're sadly mistaken).
It must of been hard for Pete to complete this interview. I can’t imagine the mental toll it took for him to be away from Ryan Day for so long
Unless you directly benefit from making more money by making sure college football players don’t, then there is no reason to dislike Harbaugh.
Leaving out the fact they did mid flight to penn st on Friday. We still won. Go blue.
Fu c/m big ten commissioner Tony something
That’s about as positive as the ESPNSEC network could be when it comes to showing respect to a legend of the game…
God bless the Harbaugh family. God bless the MICHIGAN WOLVERINES!! GO BLUE!!
As a Michigan Alum I hope Jim signs that 10 year contract as soon as possible. He's not "polarizing" at all here, we love him and want him to stay forever. Screw the haters.
He’s coming to the NFL
Love Jim! 〽️💙
Great coach with a great history. Only polarizing to ESPN and other woke media.
Come to LA and lead the Chargers to multiple super bowl championships ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Look at him now. 1 win away from winning it all.
see you in LA coach ⚡
Bolt Up baby⚡️⚡️
What a stupid title 😂 no he’s not and he’s not even remotely close. Classic ESPN clown video
GO BLUE 〽️
Herbert’s next coach
2:37 that’s not Connor stallions, that’s Jesse minter, Mich’s defensive coordinator
He’s so controversial-yet look how many Chargers fans want him….
You can hate him all you want but a guarantee he is better than any coach you have for your team. Guy is legendary. Him and his brother both. Excellent coaches! They have the two best teams in college and NFL and now everyone is trying to copy what they are doing. The entire Harbaugh family is legendary. And they don’t care if you don’t like them. That’s the icing on the cake for me. Go blue!! 😎
He’s innocent!!!
He's one the greatest players coaches ever reminds me of Jimmie Johnson at Miami his players love him and he loves them
Chargers can use him
Ncaa and top head coaches hated Jim Harbaugh because he over shadows them with his prowness and reputation and that hurt their EGO.
Go Blue ‼️
⚡🏈👊⚡
1 to go!!!!
He's always been a great coach. Vast majority of 9er fans loved his tenure in SF. The bay area media, along with the national media were cowards with Jim. They used their power to ride him out of town essentially. Mostly because he never worried about rubbing shoulders with media figures and didn't always answer questions the way they were used to expecting. It was terrible to watch and it's not much different in Michigan. Media really can be ugly sometimes to people who refuse to play the game they're always pushing....
Why is greasy Pete Thamel on this lmfaoooo
On an international level, I assure you no one even knows who he is. Stop using blanket statements like “all of sports.”
Did deion or saben die?
I think prime time gets that title
Unfortunately Deion sanders hasn’t shown anyone he can coach at the big boy level. I’m here to tell you he can’t, so don’t ever worry about that
@@irishron4861I can tell both of you guys think about Deion Sanders more than you should
⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
That’s just a convoluted way of saying it’s just a cheeseburger 😂
Sounds like a bill belacheck thing.
Someone check on Pete Thamel
Got to get by Alabama, first.
✔️
@@MusicalSavior23 Bunch of cheaters.
@@ak102986😂😂😂
And we did 😂
@@donaldhopkins1476 You are still a bunch of cheaters.
Click bait. Ask his team.
No piece would be complete without an appearance by spineless osu fanboy Pete
Pete Thamel is the biggest 🐀 at ESPN
what's wrong with. him. buying a Cheeseburger ?
He’s a great “ball coach” if you think “CHEATING” is a good example to set for young men(or women) Dude thinks rules don’t apply to him-over & over
He’s really not that controversial at all.
1stttttttttttt
Coach Prime > Harbaugh
What has he really done at Michigan he’s never won a championship #overrated
