Still on Singer 2018. KZ's cover of See You Again, Say Something, Royals, etc. I think there were 10 songs/performances she did before she got eliminated. Extra song is the trio she did with Jesse and a chinese singer. If I'm right the song was Bang Bang.
She also did a song on BBC Radio (in Tagalog).
Another cover that I can rember is the song Close To You (outside Singer 2018).

HA! I felt the same way when I discovered this incredible spitfire. When I watched it for the first time and she kicked out of the rap with: "Ladies & Gentlemen!" I fell out of my chair. So, now you have discovered Mori, the best voice in the world, and KZ, the best entertainer in the world. Each of her performances are like mini-movies. I loved your reaction. I have watched that performance hundreds of times. The Philippines and music are wonders I just learned about a couple of years ago.

@@GOTGames Greetings, my invisible pal! Love your channel. Perhaps you don't know the full story behind the performance. This is what I know. KZ, Jessie J and Dimash were the first performers from outside of China to ever perform on this Chinese talent show. How about the orchestra, drummers, background singers, lighting crew and the overall production of it? So, KZ takes this arrangement she and her guitar playing pal, Makoy, made up and with huge crowds from the Philippines watching and as her introduction to the massive Chinese audience, this musical genius comes up with that arrangement.
Mind-blowingly brave to take such a chance on that performance with all the parts. So much could have gone wrong, but KZ rose up and knocked them dead. I love this young woman so much. I discovered Morissette, first which lead to KZ and Jaya and others. I was diagnosed with cancer in January of 2021, the exact month I discovered Mori and KZ. These two young women have been my guides through my ill days. I could not have ever asked for such a tremendous soundtrack to my ending. The pleasure these two girls have given me cannot be expressed or communicated fully. KZ's Say Something , Real Gone, and the Royals--also from the Singer 2018 are must sees. Now, please remember these two also: Close to You--- and Feeling Good with her mentor, Jaya. Jaya and Mori go to the same church.
Excuse me for being so long-winded. I just wanted to share my love for my girls and cheer you for your wonderful reactions. One caution, try not to stop Say Something too much. Share the love; fight the hate and enjoy life.

KZ is a force of nature. She will shake down to your toes. She makes the Energizer Bunny look like a candidate for an old folks home. This young lady is a TALENT. Later in this competition she learned whichever Chinese dialect was necessary to sing to the Chinese people a trilogy of songs to them in their own language. In reading the comments after her performance many Chinese speakers gave her high marks for her ability to sing all the right words with the proper inflections and nuance that is buried in the Chinese languages. KZ is a remarkable performer who graduated from college with a music degree. She has also had to reinvent herself as a singer after a severe problem with her vocal folds. Stripped of her upper chest and mixed voice high notes out of her repertoire, KZ plunged into arranging songs with more of what you hear here. KZ's emotional investment in "her" music makes her a great listen whatever she is singing.

Auto tune? Yes, she used it at first but not in entire song. That's her real voice. She is really talented singer.
She mixes different genre into this one song, and added her own. She basically 'creating' a new song out of that original song. Talent? Yes, it's a TALENT. A true performer.
It's not autotuned, it's the feature of that mike that she use.
You just witnessed a filipino pirates raid on poor Adele. This was her initial presence on the show and she won the episode against singers like Jessi J and Hua Chenyu. She totaly blew the roof on this one and stormed everyone as she was totaly unknown in China.
From the same year I would suggest as great performances:
Hua Chenyu "Nunchaku", "Fake Monk", "Ordinary Path" (find subtitles for those if possible)
Jessi J "My Heart Will Go On" "I Have Nothing" and Tengri "Heaven" (/w Subs also)

Adele is a love torn victim; KZ is a woman scorned, someone to reckon with. Her arrangement is demonstrative of her talent. 🙏🏻🇺🇸
IMO, KZ Tandigan is the most creative female artist that I have ever seen. If you want to see one of the most creative male artists, check out Hua Chenyu (at 2:20) who is a creative genius who sings rock, opera, raps, and often adds art to his vocals. EVERY one of his songs is different; he cannot be pegged into any specific genre. Many of his songs reflect his perspective on life and feelings. He is one of the most influential people less than 30 years of age in China; his 100,000+ concerts sell out in less than 10 minutes (he was unable to even get a ticket to his own concert). I strongly suggest listening to "Nunchucks".
You should also know the context of the performances of the singers you react to. The Singer competition in 2017 features professional, established Chinese singers with foreign invitees. Dimash finished second as an unknown wildcard (Sandy Lam was first) which launched his career. In 2018, Jesse J won the competition; KZ was eliminated (although she won this round with "Rolling in the Deep" against Jesse J). Dimash was invited back as a guest in 2018 where he sang "Hello (Lionel Ritchie). Chenyu won this competition in 2020.
You may have noticed that many of the singers that you have reacted to are from the Philippines (Morissette, Katrina Velarde , KZ Tandigan, etc.)- the "Land of Singers". There are so many more whom you have not even heard!

So happy to see you are loving our KZ Tandingan! Apart fr EZ Mil (whose name coincidentally rhymes with hers), she is right at the top amongst my favorites, definitely one of the few pure artists whose ingenuity always make me love music even more. Like EZ, KZ treads on a totally different lane altogether. She cannot hit very high notes due to a vocal chord polyps at a young age which almost made her give up on her dreams, but her way of tweaking songs and delivering them like she becomes the song itself, hit me more than the impressive belts of other singers. And she definitely delivers, no matter what genre she takes on. I recommend all her performances in "The Singer 2018". Every song is a showcase of her abilities, and every performance didn't give me a competition performance but rather, like I was in her own concert. As they say, original singers, be wary if KZ sings a cover of your songs, because she can easily convert fans to KZ's versions instead. 😊 You may also want to check out KZ's performance of "Bagsakan", with Filipino rappers Shanti Dope and Gloc 9 - a totally dope performance done during one of KZ's concerts in the Philippines. Enjoy the KZ ride! This js just the beginning. 😆

One of my favourite performances from The Singer 2018, a Chinese singing competition. She did a few more songs on that competition, all different, all good. If you had trepidations about PTX doing Say Something, hers will wring your heart out. That competition was for recognised artists so all of the performances were above average. Apart from KZ I would recommend Jessie J (who won that season) with Purple Rain or Killing Me Softly, Hua Chenyu with Nunchuks and finally an Earth shattering version by 59 year old Tengri of his song Heaven (Look for the one with English subtitled lyrics, they're important). It was an amazing season and there are lots I haven't mentioned because that would be overload but I will just add that the backing musicians and singers, production and lighting were all top notch. Just be warned, if you get drawn into The Singer, their blocking game is up there with PTX's label.
