I heard of this story before but never actually read it. And I'm glad Tale Foundry introduced me to this story. It is indeed such a beautiful and meaningful story!
It's probably the best children's book ever written. Please read it, even if you're now an adult. (It's also pretty small.) Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (the author) was an actual pilot, flying reconnaissance missions at the start of WW2. He had an actual crash in the desert, in 1935.
The Little Prince is one of the most well-written stories ever, Its pure imagination sparks interest in a child's mind yet also appeals to older audiences, making them reflect themselves along with the ones in the movie, it is almost like a mockery of what the adult life is, making you realize you have started to care of other's opinion on you not knowingly, that you gained the need of pride, wealth and power, losing the pureness of a child you once were. We shouldn't live in other people's shadows, nor be lost in power, submerged in pride, hungry for wealth, and live to impress others. To live a life fully for yourself and to cherish it. No matter what you do, there will be one day when all of you is forgotten by the world, nothing left from your life remains, so why not live a life you fully enjoy and leave no regrets. I read The Little Prince once when I was 10, I returned to this book 8 years later to find myself not only reading a fantasy, but more.
The only thing missing from this video is that one particular sentence from the fox: "You are eternally responsible for what you tame" It seems madness, yet it is the most profound, most absolute wisdom there is.
I just want to let you know, I caught another TH-camr, Nuxonor, reacting to your video on killing gods. He had many reactions of 'WHOA, What is this production quality? How is this so good!?' As a long time fan, I had kinda forgotten how amazing your work really is. Keep it up, it's impressive, and moving. I remember this story from my childhood. I had forgotten it, but now I remember.
I first leaned of The Little Prince through the movie, which I absolutely adored. It was my favorite movie, it still is. Every time I look up and see the stars I think of the story and it makes me smile. I love this story, it changed my life.
I love how the movie not only depicted the actual story, but it does so through the lens of the kind of person it’s meant for; a little girl burdened with school by her mother in order to prepare herself for the future. Not only is it a cool meta way to explore the original story, but it also gives us a relatable character to help us better connect with the story. I didn’t think too much when I first saw it, but I’ve appreciated the movie a lot more for how much it built off of the original story after learning that the story didn’t have some of those things.
There used to be a cartoon on, I think, Nickelodeon when i was in elementaryschool in the early 90s. I'm pretty sure it was usually on ridiculously early in the morning, though, so I would only ever catch the end credits... I also want to say it may have been in French but with English subtitles??? Does that sound right to anyone else?
In Germany there was a popular kid show adaptation and I remember watching it almost every weekend with my grandma. She loved watching the show with us kids and we would always ask our parents to drive me to her every friday. Those were great times.
Indeed. It was a continuation of the original story (with some changes of course), where the little prince goes to different planets to help people that have problems. Most of those problems are caused by "The snake" which whispers promises and evil thoughts into the minds of people that hold power or just tries to break them apart. Its one of the best animated kids show here in germany.
@bijaru0019 It aired in Canada quite a bit! I grew up on that show, it was always a big part of my childhood and I'm surprised I haven't forgotten most of it yet!
The timing of this video is crazy. My wife just gave birth to our son a week, and I'm reading the little prince to him every day, not just for him but to also remember what's important.
Having read this story first as a child in its original French, and then again (repeatedly) as an adult, the difference in meaning that it carries is a powerful spotlight on our own journeys as we grow up.
This story is, beat for beat, how my boyfriend's life has gone so far. This video helped me realize I'm his "fox." I'm so scared to be left behind, but I'm so lucky that I can witness my boyfriend learning how to fully see with his heart for the first time in his life. At least in the future I'll always have positive memories to associate with him, no matter how things go... This is the most I've cried in a long time, let alone from a TH-cam video. I've always peripherally known about this story's existence, but I'd never heard it all the way through. I think this is one of those rare children's stories that gets more and more true as you grow up. Thank you for making it into such a gorgeous video, this is one I'm going to show to so many of my loved ones!
"The little prince" is a story that followed through all my childhood. It's my father favourite children book, he knows the line by heart and would recite it to me and my brother before bed. So... some detail, that weren't necessary for the video, that's why they were cut out I assume, but some detail that i find important. The man, the aviator is Saint Exupéry, it's a book told as if a real story which is pretty great in my opinion^^ Also, there's another character in the book, the snake. The one that will let the little prince go back to his world. See, the little is simply to heavy now, so the snake will bit him and thus, discarding the flesh, the little prince will rise up. Yes, the little prince DIE at the end. But it doesn't, not really, he's still in every single stars
I love this story. My mom used to read it for me as a kid, and after she passed we found a copy of the story that she had gotten for me that was meant to be a gift.
I just want to say how calming and soothing your voice over is. It seems so rare in this day and age. I not only appreciate the stories you tell, but the way you tell them. Thank you.
I remember, not fully, but my grandma reading this to me as a kid. I rediscovered him in Sky Cotl, and found my copy of the book. He’s been my comfort character since
Today has been a good day. I'm getting kittens, both of my favorite games are getting huge updates, I get paid and now you made a video about my favorite book. I love today.
Funny thing is that in my country we have to read this book for school. It's an amazing tale, and as my teacher once said: It's a book you get back to once in a while, and you always find something new.
I never read this book or knew about this story but the feeling it brings me reminds me of a memory. When was young I had horrible nightmares and often couldn’t spend time with my parents because of work or because of school. So my grandmother would often sing to me of all the stories from her childhood. Most prominently Puff the magic dragon. I love those memories of a more innocent time, of a time when I truly didn’t know about the sadness and mundane nature of adulthood.
This story marked my chilhood. It's very known in my country and heartwarming yet still very sad in ways that pull that my heartstrings a way no one else can.
The Little Prince has been my bible for all these years. Like, the perspective of the readers change depending on the reader's age. And I don't know any other book that does that. And so I read it every year just to see how I've grown as a person and how my perspective in life has changed. There's a reason this is an all-ages book: Everyone can read it. Not just kids, not just adults, not just elders, but everyone. And this is why I love the little prince.
I've always loved the story of "The Little Prince," it made me feel something very unique for the longest time and I have to say it's always sat at the back of my mind for years.

The Little Prince was required reading for us in elementary. And I'm happier for it. It's just one of those books you have to read that you will never put out of your mind.
A lot of my friends are in a production of “The Little Prince” that’s in the near future, but I hadn’t read the story in a while and I found it confusing when I did. Even as a kid, I was pretty close to the grown ups in the story, but I wasn’t able to critically read literature yet, so I never really understood it. Thanks for explaining it so beautifully! I’m gonna go read it again.
I really like Little Prince, I used to read it quite a lot and when I grew up, I realised I liked it the same, but for different reason, because whenever you read it you will discover something new, something you didn´t inderstand before and that is very unique
Hey, I stumbled upon Tale Foundry just a few days ago and I just immediately fell in love with everything here. I currently can't help myself but to feverishly watch every video on your channel. Keep up the good work!
I feel like there is some element of a complimentary pairing between The Little Prince and The Last Unicorn. Similar themes but different views. A lot of the adults in The Little Prince seem to directed themselves into their craziness. Whereas in The Last Unicorn it seems common to be somewhat aware of the loss and dealing with it in different ways, whether hoarding joy, giving up, or chasing stories in the woods.
I remember reading the book when I was a kid (it was a copy given to my dad just before he left the Philippines), and then watching the movie as soon as it was added onto Netflix. I watched the movie again during GCSEs and it actually made me motivated to revise for my exams (a bit ironic considering its overall plot). Even as I'm nearing my A-level exams, The Little Prince continues to be a source of comfort to me. Looking back, I think the line in the movie "I will grow up, but I'll never be a grown up like you!" was what propelled me to keep pushing forward, regardless of all the obstacles that stood in front of me and the fear of growing up and forgetting how to be a child.
we played this for my school theater. i had the honor to play the fox and it changed something inside of me that i am so very grateful for. i really love this bittersweet story with all of my heart
I have the book and have read it a few times in the past. Over the years I kind of forgot about it. I watched the series and really enjoyed them. Now I want to reread the story. I just love it so much.
I first watched the Little Prince in a languages club at school, then ThatSkyGame did an event of it, and now you're doing a video on it. I'm glad you are, because it is really good.
i want to reread this book, i read it a few times already, but back then i was a kid, and I think that the book is only fully apriciated if you can expirience it as both a kid and an adult. I will most likely revisit the book later in life as well, as I may be an adult, but still young
_The Little Prince_ is my go-to, feel-good story. I love it so much, I try to read it at least once a year because, as myself, the book changes, grows, and become something new.
I once saw a play that manage to capture the essence of this story so perfectly that I was sobbing throughout the entire thing. This story is so well written that as a kid you CAN't even realize that there is a deeper meaning. But when you're an adult... It feels like a friend is telling you an almost obvious metaphor, but great nonetheless.
Awwww. I haven't watched this yet, but I already love the title. Fixing our hearts, about a year after you broke them with "The Ocean At The End Of The Lane" and SCP 1762 (and yes, I cried over both of those). The thumbnail even looks super similar to the one you used for "This Story Will Ruin Your Childhood" (the video about "The Ocean At The End Of The Lane." I went and read the book after listening to that video, and it hit even harder. Thanks).

I remember how my father told me to read the book of The Little Prince, and when I first finished the book I didn't like it and didn't remember a lot.. Yet, now when I watched this video, I now love the story of The Little Prince, and I don't know why I didn't like it in the first place... Maybe because it was in my native language? Probably yes.
ive loved this story since my grandma read it to me as a child. The Little Prince is such an amazing story, my grandma teared up when she learned that they had made a movie from the book
When I was a child, I think I saw a movie for this short film somewhere and I can never seem to find that movie again. It’s almost like it’s disappeared from the Internet itself. I wonder where that went it really made me reflect Jackson, my kind of forgotten it.
This is the first time I've heard of this story. What a great story. This is one I'll treasure. Thank you for all you're hard work and dedication to these videos. They truly make my day each time I see a new video released.
I remember reading this one. My grandpa was deadset on me finishing it, and I did. It was a school afternoon, in class. I had finish all my homework and the teachers had nothing to give me, so they gave me a copy of the little prince. There, that day I finished it. I did not remember any of these thing you said. I only remember the fox, the rose, the man with the streetlantern and the pilot. But I do remember a character that you didn't mention. A Snake that made me cry for a week straight. I think I should re read this, now that I have grown. It's good, tho, that this story that now I understand better gave me the feelings of sadness and pain it gave me, I felt relaly happy once I tamed my first dog.
The little prince was my favorite as a child. I even got to play the role. I read it again as an adult to my own child and oh my lord, not the best idea 😂😂😂. I was weeping full blown by the end and my daughter was like what's wrong dad? My only response was we all forget our roses.
I recently got my own copy of that book. I'd read it in school and forgotten about it for so long, but when I ran across it again all these little bits came flooding back.
My mother loves this story. She once had us all sit around the TV to watch a musical version of it. About 1/4 of the way in I asked her "Does this story go anywhere?"

The Little Prince is one of my all-time favorite books. I’ve written part of a ballet based on it and, even though unfinished, I think it’s one of my best pieces, because of the inspiration.
I remember having to read this in grade 12 french class. My teacher was wonderful and made it similar to the classes in English, where we discussed some of the plot and we also got to work on different concepts and tenses in french as well.
The little prince in one of my favorite childhood story, from learning it at school to reading it again and again, so thank you for reminding me of that story now that I have pass the grown up level, it's really cool tu here it again I also realy like your other video Good job, Keep the work 👍 A fan from France
Omg, this book is one of the school "reguired books" where I live and it's my favourite by far! I have to read it again cause last time I've read it I was around 13/14 yo and I suspect a lot of the meaning was lost on me back then(I'm 22 now) thank you for reminding me ☺️
I read it as an adult for the first time. It was a nice little story, bittersweet but heartwarming. I interpreted in the sense that we all have a Little Prince / Princess inside (i.e. inner child) and that we mustn't forget that it's there, nor should we forsake it. Looking at the world from a child's eyes, it's true that the adult world doesn't make a lot of sense and it's downright absurd at times. Children / the inner child possesses a certain wisdom, a way of looking at the world that retains much value especially once we're older. So tend to your flowers and do not forget your inner child. It has much to teach us yet, that I am sure.
Hi I just want to thank you for this wonderful channel I love not only the cute little talinods I love how inspiring this channel is as a writer whose just starting out this channel is a big encouragement I love you guys for this channel thank you for telling me if the little Prince it’s now my favorite short story thank you so much for all you do
I grew up watching the TV series and now I want to read the book! Thanks so much for choosing this story! I remember always adopting a 'Hold everything! The Little Prince is on!' attitude whenever I heard the opening theme tune. Being a program directed at pre/early teens, it covered a lot of topics on how to be a good adult (or person, I suppose), but I loved that the solution to any problem the Little Prince encountered almost always involved taking the most simplistic and child-like option - basically using a kind of child-like maturity to solve problems caused by adults being too 'adult'.
When I read this book 20 years ago, I saw myself as the little rose, left behind. "I have thorns; I'm ready for tigers." Somewhere between then and now, I've become the pilot. Not quite sure what that means yet.
Ever since Ive heard this story, I’ve tried my hardest to keep my inner child alive. But sometimes, I worry about what others would think. I fell uncomfortable when watching kids movies, or discussing a more childish topic around other people, so, I usually try to hide those things that I love, and pretend that I don’t care for such things. If anyone has advise about it, I’d really appreciate it.❤
Well, I think the story itself shows us how to get through that shame! Grown-ups may see many things that children do not, and the things they appreciate are often more "complex" or "serious" than those that children enjoy. However, just like the drawing of the snake eating the elephant, and the sheep in its box, all well-thought-out "childish" art and topics touch a very true and important part of ourselves: the simple feelings and lessons of the heart. That, I think, is why children's stories will sometimes have such a great impact on us, even when they're not that profound. Seeing the hero win against the villain, the princess find what she desires, or simply good morals triumph over the evils and contradictions of the world... it's powerful, if your heart is still ready to listen to these beautiful stories.
Thanks to speak about such a beautiful book, and even though you skipped a few parts, like the snake at the end or the hunter, I loved listening to this, the little prince shaped my life and how I perceive the concept of imagination; Thanks a lot and Merci !

The only thing missing from this video is that one particular sentence from the fox: "You are eternally responsible for what you tame"
It seems madness, yet it is the most profound, most absolute wisdom there is.
I was thinking about that Fox. Poor Fox that the Prince left him to his rose 😔.
I just want to let you know, I caught another TH-camr, Nuxonor, reacting to your video on killing gods. He had many reactions of 'WHOA, What is this production quality? How is this so good!?'
As a long time fan, I had kinda forgotten how amazing your work really is. Keep it up, it's impressive, and moving. I remember this story from my childhood. I had forgotten it, but now I remember.
Nux reacted to Tale Foundry?? I didn't know that this is a crossover I needed...
Nux taku reacted to this hmn small world.
@@JahanaraBegum-gl1sfAccording to this story, there are several small worlds.
@@WuhHuhyes youre absolutely right
Oh yeah I’ve seen the movie! It’s been a few years though. I was trying to remember how I know this story.
It's been a while since I watched it, but was it the one where Gene Wilder played the Fox?
There used to be a cartoon on, I think, Nickelodeon when i was in elementaryschool in the early 90s. I'm pretty sure it was usually on ridiculously early in the morning, though, so I would only ever catch the end credits... I also want to say it may have been in French but with English subtitles??? Does that sound right to anyone else?
In Germany there was a popular kid show adaptation and I remember watching it almost every weekend with my grandma. She loved watching the show with us kids and we would always ask our parents to drive me to her every friday. Those were great times.
Was the show 3D animated ?
@@bijaru0019 apparently not just germany. I live in trinidad and that show was still a part of my early childhood
@@bijaru0019i loved the show. it was so nice
@bijaru0019 It aired in Canada quite a bit! I grew up on that show, it was always a big part of my childhood and I'm surprised I haven't forgotten most of it yet!
This story never gets old. I loved it since I was a child. ❤
First time I've heard it. It resonates well, though.
Never stop being a child. At least sometimes.
The timing of this video is crazy. My wife just gave birth to our son a week, and I'm reading the little prince to him every day, not just for him but to also remember what's important.
Congrats!❤
Congrats on becoming a parent!!
Odd, that you didn't include the Snake. Still, it was a beautiful recap of the story all the same. Thank you for covering this one.
You really should read it. It's a lovely story, and he left out a little bit.
Been awhile since I read it, and I thought he was missing a snake character. Thank you for recalling that.
I love this story. My mom used to read it for me as a kid, and after she passed we found a copy of the story that she had gotten for me that was meant to be a gift.
I am very sorry.
If people of this generation could truly understand how beautiful love and the concept of being 'tamed' was described here. The weight of attachments.
I just want to say how calming and soothing your voice over is. It seems so rare in this day and age. I not only appreciate the stories you tell, but the way you tell them. Thank you.
The Little Prince is a story that got me to cry the first time I saw it. It’s bitter sweet, but hopeful. I’m glad I read it.
I remember, not fully, but my grandma reading this to me as a kid. I rediscovered him in Sky Cotl, and found my copy of the book. He’s been my comfort character since
I absolutely love the little Prince story ❤
I read this story in its original French as a young teenager. It broke my heart in a way a book hasn’t for a long time.
Oh my god, it’s the little prince! I love this story.
This was the first ever story to make me cry. As a kid who loved stories, experiencing this one for the first time was an otherworldly experience.
I love those memories of a more innocent time, of a time when I truly didn’t know about the sadness and mundane nature of adulthood.
what a generation we are in, these animations and channel could be a full funded show on television. but it is so underrated.
Oh i think you don’t know how much I adore this story. Since I’ve been a little child I loved it like nothing else. Here were I life they made a lovely little animated show about the little prince and his storys. I loved them like nothing else and hearing this little story from you makes my eyes wet
PERFECT timing. I'm in need of having my heart fixed 😢
For those who are wondering, no, I didn't break up with anyone. It's "just" a mental health crisis...
okay
I highly recommend giving the whole story a listen. theres an audiobook of the little prince here on TH-cam. it bring me to tears everytime.

I loved this story as a kid. My copy is still on my shelf!
Eventually, I’d love for you to cover “The Phantom Tollbooth”. I feel it doesn’t get a lot of love these days.
OMG! I read that as a kid, haven't in years. No one I know has read that book, it's so niche it seems.
The Phantom Tollbooth was a nice read
YES!!! That is such an underrated book, I love it. I remember discovering that there was a movie version of this book, and I watched it.
Let’s just say it deserves the same treatment as the Percy Jackson movies 😑
Surprised you didn't talk about the Snake, though it appears only a bit, it oddly seems out of place for such a happy tale, seeming to imply both the death of childhood and it's persistence, how it looks like it dies, but it only returns home.
The little prince literally changed the way I live, and why. It's a revolutionary story, and I believe everyone should read it
The little prince is one of my favourite stories. The preface is so bittersweet, stating the book is for the inner child within every adult
This was one of my mother's favorite stories growing up, thank you for making a video on it.
This story rewired my brain as a kid. It was the first time I felt a story resonate with me.
Looking back, I think the line in the movie "I will grow up, but I'll never be a grown up like you!" was what propelled me to keep pushing forward, regardless of all the obstacles that stood in front of me and the fear of growing up and forgetting how to be a child.
i remember this story, i watched a film on it it was one of the only movies to make me actually cry it is truly a wonderful and meaningful story
we played this for my school theater. i had the honor to play the fox and it changed something inside of me that i am so very grateful for. i really love this bittersweet story with all of my heart
I love it so much, I try to read it at least once a year because, as myself, the book changes, grows, and become something new.
i am not a writer..but i just love the way you narrated the story
I once saw a play that manage to capture the essence of this story so perfectly that I was sobbing throughout the entire thing. This story is so well written that as a kid you CAN't even realize that there is a deeper meaning. But when you're an adult... It feels like a friend is telling you an almost obvious metaphor, but great nonetheless.
I knew it was The Little Prince
Such a beautiful story!!
This is a really good abridged version of the story. It omits the snake and everything, but the core and key elements are there. Well done, sir.
The transition from the story to the sponsor in the end is so smooth
Thanks).
So happy someone got it!
oh i didn’t know you were going to do my favorite (and the most perfect story ever written) and as soon as the video started i recognized it. thank you so much. 10/10. love this. love all ur vids but this is beyond belief.
An ex-boyfriend whom I regret letting go introduced me to "The Little Prince," so this story actually re-breaks my heart. 💔
The Little Prince has been my favourite book since I first read it when I was six years old. Such a beautiful story!
I just wanted to say thank you for telling this amazing story. I used to love it when I was growing up, and you reminded me why I like it so much. So thank you for this video and all the others
I love this book! It's quite philosophical for a children's book and has a lovely story. ❤
This is a wonderful time for me to see this. I just started reading the book in my English class
A long-form commercial for 80k/hrs. 😩
I’m not even angry. I’m impressed.
In Poland the little prince is a book you have to read and it’s in the 8th class exam (idk if they have something like that in other countries) so I had to study that book very well and I knew what this video was about in the first 5 seconds
I usually find myself reading biographies, self-improvement books, and philosophy more than anything else since they're my favorite ''genres'', I guess, but I still find that the LIttle Prince is still one of my top 5 books I've ever read. Such an amazing, fascinating little story with so many values and so much wisdom in a simple manner. It's simply one of the best books I've ever read.
this story was a huge part of my childhood and i still love it dearly. There was a german audiobook that included songs accompanying the story and they still make me so emotional TvT
The Little Prince had the most effect on me. From others saying that im very much like the princ, and me liking the mysterious and sad story of the book. It just so winderfull. And i feel like its message will be the thing keeping me from becoming a boring burned out adult
I first heard of the little prince through the animated series made for the book. Let me tell you... Watching this video made me cry in nostalgia TvT gonna save it to watch it later for sure ❤
The little prince in one of my favorite childhood story, from learning it at school to reading it again and again, so thank you for reminding me of that story now that I have pass the grown up level, it's really cool tu here it again
I also realy like your other video
Good job, Keep the work 👍
A fan from France
this made me cry... in a good way actually... I love this story and I've read this to my nephews. Thank you for sharing this with us.
"I have thorns; I'm ready for tigers."
Somewhere between then and now, I've become the pilot. Not quite sure what that means yet.
Your story was so great it made my illness stop for a bit, or perhaps I forgot about it for a bit.
I started crying while listening to this... confused as to why but more confused as to why I feel better about the world
I still have this book. never have i ever cried so hard reading a book about a child and a rose
@@s31888 Thank you! This helps a lot!🙏☺️
The moment a hat was mentioned I knew the story, this is one I am reminded of every so often.
Thanks to speak about such a beautiful book, and even though you skipped a few parts, like the snake at the end or the hunter, I loved listening to this, the little prince shaped my life and how I perceive the concept of imagination; Thanks a lot and Merci !
I want to say I love the intro sequence and literally everything about this channel
I love this story. I still have a copy I got from my teacher in 7th grade.
I'm sad I didn't grow up with this story, but I'm glad I got to read it eventually. It was my late friend's favourite story when he was a child.
I remember my aunt taking me into NYC one weekend. We saw this movie at Radio City Music Hall. I found it weird, wonderfull, and yes, bittersweet.❤
I remember this story, I loved it when I was young. I always remember in the 6th grade the French teacher read us 10 minutes from the book.
