  • Memories of Monteith Barracks, set to the music by Joe South called, "Don't It Make You Want To Go Home." A tribute to a former Army post in West Germany that we called home for at least 2 years. Today the post is being converted to civilian use. It is a look back on the fun we had in our military days, when we were young. Check out a FB Page called, "I Survived Monteith Barracks," and reconnect with your Army buddies.
If you happen to see anyone you recognize let them know about it and go to, "I Survived Monteith Barracks Kaserne," on Facebook. Lots of new members joining each week. Video created by David Saraga and appear at 1:18.
Erinnerungen an die Monteith Barracks, vertont von Joe South mit dem Titel "Don't It Make You Want To Go Home".
Jede Woche kommen viele neue Mitglieder hinzu.

I was stationed there in 1982-1984 and worked at the TMC. My first daughter was born in Nuremberg Hospital. ❤️

I was stationed there in '67 with the 24th Engineers. My rotation day was coming up in July and was surprised by the "6-day war" in Israel. I was fearful my rotation would be cancelled, and I'd be stationed in Tel Aviv. Thankfully, that didn't happen.

Great song to accompany this. I was in 1-41 Infantry, 2AD up north in Garlstedt in 89 and 90. Reminds me of that.

I lived here form March 82 to March 84 as a 12B10 combat engineer. I had a great time there also. Remember the Pondarosa country bar? Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Could that be the Ponderosa at 1:33? Just get to that spot and pause it. I'm trying to figure out what bar that was. A really cool company platoon stg. had a birthday party and don't know the name of the place that it was held at. A friend of mine drove me and I went. I asked many people on the Facebook page, I Survived Monteith Barracks Kaserne," and they can't seem to figure it out either.

@@michellec8717 It is sp4 Dennis Perez and his lovely wife. I put them in this video because they drove Me and some dude named Cambell, forgot his 1st name, to Stuttgart, for a Mike Oldfield concert. They were really good people and I haven't forgotten that favor.

We had our Band rehearsal Room there from 1999 till 2003. We were exploring all these abandoned Buildings. It was a great Time for us there. Now there are only Companys and Flats and a Golf Court... no freedom, no music, no art, no fun...

Watch another Monteith Barracks video at: archive.org/details/TimeSlideshow7.3Final
That video will show the contrasts of today, 2018, and from 1982 - 1984. Pictures are set to the music of Alan Parsons Project song, Time. It shows places in and around Monteith, changes over a 35 year period. I tried to take the pictures from the same angle as I took them back then. Took a while to release this because the success of the Croatian soccer team, in the World Cup.That scum nut, Zuckershit muted my video again and fucking TH-cam deleted my video, those fucking pricks!
