I hunt highly pressured public land here in Michigan. Last year was my first full season using hex on every hunt and I can tell you that I saw more deer last year than I’ve ever seen, and I currently have two bucks at the taxidermist, and a third that I shot at 5 yards last weekend. I know a lot of people call it a gimmick, but I absolutely believe that it gives you an edge. Aside from the deer I’ve noticed that squirrels, birds, and even insects don’t seem to notice you at all. My uncle had been using it and finally convinced me to buy a set. I’m glad I did.
Love hearing these stories man! Congrats on your nice deer too. After my first few times wearing it I shot the biggest deer we had on camera here the 4th time out with HECS. Since then I haven't been able to hunt much. We got hit with Hurricane Helene, the eyewall went right over our area and took out so many trees. Recovering from that took a bit so hoping to get back out there soon with my HECS suit.
I have been using Hecs since 2021 an I swear by it. One of the best hunting investments I've ever made. I have had multiple deer walk right up on me within arms reach while ground hunting. Each one kind of snuck up on me so I never had a chance to get a shot off. With the combination of scent control and the Hecs system, you can be unstoppable in the woods. (Brush here in Texas). Hecs really works. I tried to be an affiliate but Avantlink denied me. But I still stand behind the Hecs systems. Good luck on your hunting season comrade.
Man that is awesome to hear! I had another interesting thing that happened yesterday evening when hunting when a buck came out and spotted me. Gonna post that video when I get a chance. Good luck to you this season as well!
I hunt across a swamp and if I wear it a squirrel 🐿 won’t bark ever but if I don’t they will drive you crazy when they alert everything in the area ,I’m sold
From a hunter in England. I would have been more impressed if you had been on the ground. I have had deer walk right by me with full camo on, and squirrels come down the same tree that I was sitting against. BUT! Having seen the videos of bears and cats ignoring hunters it must work in those scenarios. So I won't be needing HECS in the near future. Having said that; we have a lynx in Northumberland-spotted 2 weeks ago: will make a nice rug!
That video showed my first 2 hunts. I put out 2 more videos, one for each of the next two hunts, where I had experiences that could have been the result of the HECS suit as well. And I agree, anyone that has been hunting a long time has had deer up close and squirrels on the same tree and has experienced all these types of things, but the difference I am seeing is the frequency. I had 4 hunts in a row with experiences of deer spotting me but not spooking, including a momma doe that had another doe and 2 yearlings with her. We will see how the rest of the season goes, but I think there is something to it so far. Again, it is not a be all, end all kind of thing, but I do believe it gives you an extra edge based on my experiences so far. A lynx is a beautiful animal. I was able to get a bobcat years ago and it is in my office now mounted laying on a log. It looks pretty cool. Good luck on that lynx!
Fellow Upstate SC hunter here, awesome to see someone on here from the area hunting. Live in Fountain Inn, but hunt properties near Greenwood and Chappells areas. Your Belfast video is actually the reason I put my kids in for the youth hunts and all 4 were drawn for there lol
I've been using the hecks suit for years and it works great I have had some amazing hunts with the hecks I had a groundhog walk across my leg I've had birds land on me I've had squirrels literally sit on my leg and deer and turkey so close I could touch them the hecks is amazing I'm not sponsored I just love it and know it works
I have been using the Hecs suit since 2013 ,3 days ago a fawn walked within 10 ft of me standing there!! It had NO CLUE I was there!! I DON'T HUNT WITHOUT THE HECS PERIOD ,It works for me!!
I cant verify 100% HECs works, but like you ive had a lot of instances with birds landing on me and deer not being near as jumpy. I only wear the Hecs top too. I was on the ground yest and had a 8 point walk to within 20yrds and he just looked at me. Never blew or ran off. He just slowly started walkin away
Yea I was on a 3 day hunt in KY this week and had two more instances where HECS could have been the reason the deer acted the way they did. The more I hunt with it and have deer encounters the more I am a believer that there is something to this suit.
I also live in south Carolina what hecs suit would you recommend because of the heat we have in hunting season.. Great video i also hunt with a crossbow thank you.
I purchased the lightweight outfit which includes bottoms, top, and hood. I also purchased a pair of the gloves. The reason I went that route, is because I felt like I could wear that outfit only while hunting in the warmer weather and then use it as a layer on top of my base layers but under my outer layers when it starts getting colder. I felt like it would be more dual purpose. I hunted in this outfit, on Sept 15, 16, and 20th so far. The 20th was a pretty darn warm day but I felt like I was as cool as I could have been with any type of lightweight clothing. I mean it was still hot, but it is a lightweight suit so you don't feel like the suit is adding to much to the warmth factor. I think it is a good choice for warm weather. Hope that helps!
Yea it’s definitely interesting. I another thing that happened last night that surprised me while I was hunting. I’ll pop that video out in a couple days. There good be something to this.
I swear by HECS! I was sitting on the ground with my gun muzzle facing to the left. I was in a clear cut in a tripod chair leaning against a 6 in tree waring orange with just my legs behind some brush but you could see my whole torso from my hips up. The deer walked straight to me and a 10 yards went to my right. She stopped no more than 8 feet from me and I was able to move the muzzle of my gun from my left to my right side shoulder the gun and shoot. She hunched and as I lowered the rifle I could see the bullet entry hole. She ran about 40 yards and fell dead. I have many stories I could tell this year I got some cameras and will try to get something on video.
Use any camo you want and try to wave your arm at a SC turkey and I promise you they will react much differently than these did. Had four hens come in on me in Fairfield Co. SC. Yesterday afternoon and after 20 min of remaining motionless I had to turn my head . One putt and they broke camp. Has me wondering
Yea I was really surprised at that however, wait till I post my 3rd hunt with the suit. I had an interesting encounter with a buck that spotted me dead on when I moved my head. He did not do what I expected.
Yes and my third hunt I had another very interesting interaction. I’ll post that in a few days when I get a chance to put it together. Very surprising.
@@BooneDownSouth Since I work full time, I hunt when I can, usually have to schedule vacation time to hunt During spring turkey season I hunted probably 6/7 times this last spring didn’t see one gobbler, year before got one on 2 or 3rd hunt During fall deer hunting samething, I’ll have to use vacation to get out, usually 5 to 10 hunts Not a lot but enough to tell if hecs really works, i just haven’t experienced anything that would tell me it does. I have done the X scent, scentlok, scent blocker, carbon 3d leaf suits, and just about everything over the last 40 years that may help. HECs does something. I notice walking into the stand, birds flush 20 feet or less from me. Is it magic, no! But it does something for sure. Its not like it is $500. Try it out before ya hate on it. JS
@BooneDownSouth I'm not even saying helps or hinders on deer, elk or speed goats? Only used it a couple times early season It works, just not sure what it does! 🤣
@@five9eight Yea I am thinking that it has the potential to help from getting busted by squirrels and blue jays as well. On my 3rd outing, a buck came in and spotted me when I moved. His reaction to spotting me was not normal at all. I'll post a video in the next couple of days showing that. It was pretty interesting.
Sure, we all have, if we have spent any time hunting. We have all experienced very close game encounters without HECS. Between blending in with our surroundings, scent control, remaining still we can get close to game no doubt. The issue with the HECS, is that instead of saying 2 birds and 3 squirrels over my entire hunting career, they are saying this is what happens on a normal basis wearing HECS. So time will tell for me, but I have been out 4 times with the suit, and although I have been spotted 4 times, out of about 26 deer in the last 4 hunts, none of them took off where I would not have had a shot opportunity after they spotted me. That is 4 hunts in a row. Last night I got my target buck after the does were in feeding for 20 mins with the 2 big does keeping an eye on me the whole time. If they busted me or started stomping and blowing, my target buck would not have come in. I am not saying its magic, but I believe there is something to this at this point.
@@BooneDownSouth You’ve never had birds land on you or squirrels climb over you. I’ve been hunting for 60 years and have only had those 5 incidents. You’re talking like it’s a common occurrence. I didn’t watch your video, only clicked in to read the comments. I don’t have an opinion about the HECS contraption one way or another. If it gives you confidence, use it. I don’t care.
@@russelllangworthy8855 Yea that's exactly what I am saying. Right so I have only had like one bird that walked from my head down my arms and across my crossbow, and then a squirrel jump over my legs kind of thing in my entire hunting career as well. What I am saying is that the folks who have been wearing HECS for awhile claim that these types of occurrences are more frequent when wearing HECS because the theory is that they don't detect you as a human - and you and I know that it CAN happen without wearing HECS but it is rare. The guys that don't have the HECS suit who think it is a gimmick are quick to make the claim that birds and squirrels land on them and they don't wear HECS - as if it is a normal occurrence for them which it is not. So I am just testing the suit out to see if it really does what they claim, and at this point, I do think there is something to it. Best of luck to you this season!
Not really conclusive I’ve used other products and had deer smell my boot sitting very low in the tree. I would need more convincing than that to spend that type of money on camouflage, but it has a lot to do with what you’re confident with
Yep I understand. If you have been hunting for any amount of time you have had close encounters for sure. And that is the argument I hear about this suit. Whatever proponents say is that with this suit those occurrences become more regular with more shot opportunities. This video was my first two times using it. The third time I had another experience with a buck that was also interesting where he did not have what I would consider a normal reaction when he saw me. But that is why I got the suit. I wanted to test this thing out. Holding off on staying it absolutely works until I have put more time in but the results have been interesting.
Yeah, i always do a black lite test, after falling for some of this. Naturally, like most ppl, I started buying realtree+ mossy. Then, i bought more expensive 'magical' brands. Oddly, most glowed a reddish color. Idk if deer see that. The only brand that didnt glow reddish was Redhead prairie, except for some elastic on the 'duck hunter's vest' which I use for deer hunting, so I can carry my crap in the back pouch.
@@turtleman5111 Yes I have anti UV wash I use and a black light. I have not used either on the HECS suit. I'll have to hit it with the black light. Hope to post my 3rd encounter today which was also pretty interesting. My guess is that it will pass the black light test based on what I have seen in the field so far.
So this is pretty much what HECS has to say about that "HECS recommends using extreme caution when washing HECS gear with ozone dry wash systems. High concentrations of raw ozone can damage HECS carbon yarn, and using ozone dry wash systems may void the HECS warranty. However, HECS has found that ozone generators used in hunting woods, such as in blinds or treestands, do not harm HECS fabrics."
I did last year! Shot the biggest buck of my life!! Saw 4 buck in 4 sits! Great combo, hec and scent thief! I fact I just bought another suit. The base layer one!
@tinfoiltim7593 thanks. I am tempted on the suit. BTW Academy has the scent thief trophy pack at a killer price with free shipping. Best price I have found by far.
Not sure what happened there. If you click on the link in the description, it should take your to there page and there is a Shop button up top. I am able to reach with it with no problems. Maybe you hit when a glitch was happening or something. I ordered mine the through their website as well.
Yea I get it. That is what most people say that have not tried it. It is not supposed to be a magic suit. It is supposed to give you an edge. If you have been hunting for any time you have had close encounters. We all have. This is supposed to give you more opportunities. On my 3rd time using it I had another cool experience with a buck where he did not act normal and still gave me shot opportunities after he spotted me. I'm not making any absolutes at all until I put time in, but so far IMO it shows promise.
@@BooneDownSouth yeah I’ve been hunting for 40 yrs, you know how it is there are just so many gimmicks and gadgets out there that it gets to be overwhelming and unless a person sees something that actually might be worth the expense actually 100% work it’s just back in the gimmicks category lol! Good luck hope it gets you a big one on the ground, I will stay tuned see how it plays out for you!
@@BradleyWarner6868 Yea I hope to get a big one on the ground for sure. You are right there are a ton of gimmicks and such and whether this thing helps or not, you still need to hunt the wind, have good stand placements, understand your entry and exit points and keep your scent as minimal as can be. I'll be posting more vids on the HECS as I have encounters that I think "could" be a result from using this suit.
I get it. But I am going to try and get the 3rd encounter out there today. I am not making any claims, but my last encounter with a big that spotted me head on and what he did after makes me think there could be something to this suit.
Yea I get that. I have heard a lot of people who have never used this make those comments, but I have heard so many positive comments from people that have them so I wanted to try it out. So far it has intrigued me. Watch the next video I post. On my 3rd hunt with it I encountered a buck that spotted me head on. He did not do what I expected after I was spotted. It was very interesting. Hope to get it posted today.
Can the average hunter, can they afford this? Happy You're glad with your free gift. And happy you're glad with your new sponsor. But.... So the average hunter, can afford this? Or you just pushing your new product? I checked this stuff before, and it's pricey as hell for the average guy. But I guess once you're on TH-cam, none of that matters anymore.
Ok so here is the deal and this is what I stated in my video, is that I wanted to try this suit out. Just interested in it because either people swear by it or say its a gimmick. In all fairness though the folks that claim it is a gimmick have never tried it or have any first hand knowledge of it. Since I wanted to purchase the lightweight outfit anyway (i.e. $199 for top, bottom, and face cover) and I would most likely review it's use on YT, I was able to sign up as an affiliate. What this did for me was give me a slight discount. Nothing crazy - I still purchased my suit - it was by no means free. Sometime I do review stuff that I get free, but I always disclose that. It also gave me a link to pass on, where I will get a small commission if someone buys a suit through my link. Again, it's not a lot of money here. But if I am going to take the time to film how it works and my experiences with it and share it with you guys, why not? Guys like Joe Rogan and Tom Miranda endorse the suit and obviously they are high end well known guys. Paid endorsements - I dunno. I consider myself an average hunter that does not have access to tons of private manicured lands or hunt in 7 states each hunting season. So I just thought I would share with you guys my honest experience with the suit. That's all man. So for $199 is it too pricey for the average hunter, I don't know. And btw, you don't really make much money on TH-cam until you have 100,000 subs and more. I'm nowhere close to that. I do this more for fun.
Well I guess you told me. No hard feelings my friend. Just an average Joe. Expressing my opinion on how expensive the outfit is. Probably should have worded things a little different from my end. I apologize. Anyways, appreciate what I have seen from you. It just seems like every time you start the like somebody, on one of these TH-cam sites, they go big bucks on you. After all the latest and greatest and most expensive stuff out there. I probably took my frustrations out on you a little. I apologize. Again no hard feelings on this end. Good hunting my friend😊
@@matthewwichtner2935 No worries man. My intentions were not to get you told just to explain the situation. I always try to be straight with my viewers good or bad and try to be real clear on when something was provided to me or when I pay for things which is most of the time. No hard feelings at all man. Hope you have a great season!
Yep I understand as that is what a lot of people say that have not tried it. We have all had these experiences without HECS but for those that have actually used it their typical comments is that the frequency goes up dramatically. What I have put in this video is just my first two hunts wearing it. I’m going to post my third hunt where I had another interesting encounter with a buck that flat out spotted me. His response was not what normally happens. So time will tell but I think there might be something to this.
Yea as I said, these two hunts aren't proof positive that this works, but two hunts in a row with some interesting things makes me wonder if there is something to it. My 3rd hunt I had an encounter with a buck who spotted me when I moved, head on and he did not have the typical reaction I expected.
Yep, a lot of people say that, but in all fairness, I only hear that comment from folks with no first hand knowledge using it. After this video, I had two more encounters back to back using this HECS and at this point I do believe there is something to this. Reserving complete judgement until I put more time in to it.
Yea as I sent I did have full camo on, scent spray, wind in my favor and all that. But wore the suit twice on had 2 what I consider interesting interactions. Going to put out the video of my 3rd interaction with a buck on the next hunt where he spotted me hands down, but then didn't have the normal reaction I expected. So I'm still reserving my thoughts on whether or not I think it absolutely works, but I will see from what I have seen, there may be something to this.
I get it. But this is the first video I did since I got the suit. I have since done 3 more videos all with the same kind of deer interactions. In the last video, I had to climb down from the stand to use the bathroom. Yep, that. I just finished pulling my HECS bottoms up with the other outer layers still down below my knees and I spot a buck walking right towards me at 20 yards. He walked right by me and never looked at me until he was 18 yards or so past me directly downwind. Oh and I was also wearing an orange vest and orange hat. He didn't take off until I decided enough was enough and just pulled the rest of pants up. So far this season, out of all the deer that have spotted me up close (i.e. within 20 yards) not a single one of them has blew or bolted. Not a one. EVERY single deer that spotted me, I would have had a shot opportunity after I was spotted. You can take any of these occurrences or even two of them and say ok that happens to me without a HECS suit - agreed - but this year these occurrences have happened every time. I am convinced.
The Gov’t fears truth people the most and so Tyrants of old gave them a God that is responsible for making man with free will, but God takes no responsibility for man’s sinning. If a man makes a motor and the motor runs bad or sins, whose fault is it? The motors fault or the creators fault? In fact, the bible God kills all men that sin and don’t believe in Jesus. Its man’s fault for free will? No. God has his perfect son Jesus killed by his free will sin creation man so man can be forgiven. Punish the innocent for what the guilty man does? Is that Justice?
Jesus willfully laid down his life for justice. The justice factor is because there was a payment that mankind had to make due to our sin. The penalty for our sin, is death in hell. Jesus' act of giving himself on the cross was the greatest act of love that has ever been exhibited to mankind. Jesus willingly, laid down his life to pay the penalty each of us owes for our sin. That is justice (penalty has been paid), grace (we do not deserve what was done for us), love (he chose to pay our penalty and take the cross for us). It is by faith, they we come to Jesus accepting who he is (King, Saviour and, Lord of all) and what he has done for us (paid the penalty that we owed for our sinful behaviour against a just God). I wish you the best sir.

His reaction to spotting me was not normal at all. I'll post a video in the next couple of days showing that. It was pretty interesting.
I’ve had birds land on me twice in my hunting career and 3 different squirrels have climbed over me. All without HECS.
I hunt in hecs last 5 years. Yes it works.
Sweet! I love hearing this stuff.
Like to see someone combine hecs and scent thief. Do you know if hecs is compatible with ozone?
May be something too it. Hell i know scentlok works so why not this
Yea the more I use it the more it seems like it does work.
Went to Hecs sales site. It wouldn’t let me shop good looking camo.
Not sure what happened there. If you click on the link in the description, it should take your to there page and there is a Shop button up top. I am able to reach with it with no problems. Maybe you hit when a glitch was happening or something. I ordered mine the through their website as well.
Yeah sit down 10’ from the feed pile! That will tell you if it’s gimmick or not! Up in a tree don’t prove anything! Until then I don’t buy it!
I didn't see a mature deer in the woods
I am not that big of a sucker yet.
I get it. But I am going to try and get the 3rd encounter out there today. I am not making any claims, but my last encounter with a big that spotted me head on and what he did after makes me think there could be something to this suit.
Marketing at its finest , gimmick gimmick gimmick, a fool and their money is soon parted
Call it BS, i hunt with orange and have same results when sitting 15f high
Yep I understand as that is what a lot of people say that have not tried it. We have all had these experiences without HECS but for those that have actually used it their typical comments is that the frequency goes up dramatically. What I have put in this video is just my first two hunts wearing it. I’m going to post my third hunt where I had another interesting encounter with a buck that flat out spotted me. His response was not what normally happens. So time will tell but I think there might be something to this.
Wow...A turkey sees a Branch w Leaves.......or an hand that looks like one.!!! And don't react
Yea as I said, these two hunts aren't proof positive that this works, but two hunts in a row with some interesting things makes me wonder if there is something to it. My 3rd hunt I had an encounter with a buck who spotted me when I moved, head on and he did not have the typical reaction I expected.
Gimmic
Yep, a lot of people say that, but in all fairness, I only hear that comment from folks with no first hand knowledge using it. After this video, I had two more encounters back to back using this HECS and at this point I do believe there is something to this. Reserving complete judgement until I put more time in to it.
Not going to lie, you really just look like a bunch of leaves. I think your system looks great.
This proves nothing for me. Get on the ground not in a stand. For the price its not worth it...... need more to pull the trigger on buying Hecs
The best two things you can never use hunting is a hex suit and ever calm
