Fat Guy Hiking nah just quick run there and back from the Del Valle side. I was going to do a out and back of Sunol but I was not feeling healthy enough.
I spent 3 days 2 nights backpacking the 28 miles from Mission Peak to Del Valle, Spent the night at the Sunol Backpackers camp (skycamp) and the second night at Stewart's Camp near Murietta Falls. Lots of steep ups and downs, loved the trail map showing the Ohlone Trail numbers (OT 5) showing exactly where you are and the matching sign post. Very well marked trail with a mix of fire roads and single track trails linked together. In September the only water was at the backpacker camps which were well spaced but needed to be filtered. . Will try it again next spring when things are green, wildflowers are in bloom and cooler weather.
