Federer won more points in this match than Djokovic which is astonishing in a 4 setter especially without winning a set via breadstick or bagel. That 15-40 from Djokovic in the ‘10 then ‘11 USOs and even here left irreparable scar tissue. The fact that he was able to overcome that against Nadal towards the end of his career winning 7 of their 8 final meetings (only loss a SF to Nadal at RG in ‘19 I believe). Out of those over ten points that went against Federer at the 3 USOs, ‘19 Wimbledon & really maybe even the’14 & ‘15 Wimbledons go Roger’s way I think there’s no doubt the grand slam race is in favor of the Swiss. As a Federer fan, I must say that Novak Djokovic is the GOAT of tennis. Huge respect to both Djokovic and Federer.
The commentator seems upset
Well deserved.
Needed some cheese to go with his whine.
To me 9:10 this point and the crowd is enough to shut all the joker fans. This point is exactly the point Joker will face if he plays Roger in 2017.
And who will guarantee that Federer would win in 2017, even regarding his Neo-backhand?
For example, Canadian Open in 2007
Dj defeated Roddick (No. 5) in the QF, Nadal (No. 2) in the SF and Federer (No. 1 and defending champion) in the F.
Australian Open in 2008
Dj defeated Federer (2-time defending champion) in the SF.
Swiss Indoors in 2009
Dj defeated Federer (3-time defending champion) in the F.
US Open in 2010
Dj defeated Federer (previous year runner-up) in the SF.
Australian Open in 2011
Dj defeated Federer (defending champion) in the SF and Murray (previous year runner-up) in the F.
US Open in 2011
Dj defeated Federer in the SF
FO in 2012
Dj defeated Federer in the SF
ATP World Tour Finals in 2012
Dj defeated Federer (2-time defending champion) in the F.
Wimbledon in 2014
Dj defeated Federer in the F.
Indian Wells in 2015
Dj defeated Federer (previous year runner-up) in the F.
Wimbledon in 2015
Dj defeated Federer in the F.
US Open in 2015
Dj defeated Federer in the F.
Cincinnati Open in 2018
Dj defeated Federer (7-time champion) in the F.
So, his Neo-backhand would be no guarantee at all.
@@IvanSekulic-f6b yeah, continue to put all the defeats "without the neo-backhand". Even without neo-backhand joker only led 27-23 and its close if you count out the 3 matches donated to him. Roger would have led 26-24. Why didnt you include 2006 monte carlo (thats neo backhand by the way).
Why didnt you include swiss indoors 2010? shanghai 2010? ATP Finals 2010?
And the famous 2011 French Open (Preventing Joker from extending the match wins record to Mcenroe), by the way thats on clay my friend. These are not neo backhand. Sure 2012 djoker came back to win the semis, so what?, he lost the King of Clay then lost to the king of grass in Wimbledon 2012 and got bagelled 6-0 in cincinnati. Roger is not even playing that well :).
Sure 2015 joker dominates but still lose in cincinnati and ATP finals RR. Thats not neo backhand too.
2nd half of 2018, he donated Paris masters to joker with another close match at 37 years old without neo backhand. But pity him, he lost to Kachanov.
So, his neo-backhand would guarantee.
@@earl8295 I say that we do not know what their matches would be, because Djokovic had injury and they did not play in 2017. Federer did not donate anything to anyone, because every player can be outplayed.
@@earl8295 I included those matches because Federer in those matches played excellent or was in his prime form. Some people say that Djokovic can defeat Federer only when he is old, injured or totally out of prime, which is a pure nonsense.
@@earl8295 And people always talk about the fact that Federer is 6 years older than Djokovic. Why nobody talks about the fact that Alcaraz is 16 years younger than Djokovic (Djokovic leads 4-3 in H2H) and Sinner is 14 years younger than Djokovic (they are equalled in H2H, 4-4)?
Those first two sets were peRFection from Novak

The revenge of 2007 final!!!!
Allez Novak Coupe 🏆🏆
But it isn’t. You can’t change fate. All you can do is accept the hand you’re dealt, be happy with and limit damages if it’s a loser. That’s the only way to not only be happy on life but also severe heartache
The commentary is as interesting as Spielberg's films.
Impatience of Federer, rushing to the net and mental barrier are reasons he lost big matches, like those 40-15 are ridiculous. If he fixed those things, no matter how stable Novak or Rafa are from the baseline, his records would of stayed, at least in his generation of playing, cause he has better game than both, not that he is the better player. He improved his playing against Nadal later on though...
Yeah he’s also 5-6 years older than Nadal and Novak, so stamina is definitely playing a part there too. He can make more powerful shots if he were younger and won more decisive points from that
He's indeed the better player. Which doesn't mean anything.
@@MinhVo-r7oDjokovic a remporté 3 finales de grand chelem sur les 4 à 36 ans donc vos arguments d'âge sont erronés et stupide.

@masters.1000 better at losing? Sure
@@masters.1000 Better player at choking, sure. In fact he is the best at it losing 24 matches having matchpoints. If we are talking about tennis, Federer is inferior to Nadal, let alone Djokovic.

2015 when they consider ROGER the GOAT bcz he had 17 GRANDSLAMS and NOVAK had only 9 😂
Federer's absence of first serve during the first 45 minutes of the game killed his chance to win
2015 = Prime Djokovic = ATP points record in one season
Djokovic will be 2024 winner too 😊
Fed played very well but at the key moments he couldn't deliver that extra pt. The break pts conversion or lack thereof killed him.
The story of his life, and not just against Djokovic, he suffered from chokanitis against many other pros too.
In all Federer vs Djokovic matches the match will be dominated by Roger Novak just wins crucial points
Which means Djokovic is better.
@@toddjohnson271 which means he can't be dominant even in his prime against Federer just thriving on Federer to make unforced error
@@mukunthansri And Federer makes errors and loses matches to Djokovic....making Nole dominant.
@@mukunthansrimaking unforced errors because djokovic defends well and Fed can't go past him as much as against other players hence eventually ends up making unforced errors😂. It's not so hard to understand that it you play aggressively, sooner or later and higher chances you will make errors if the ball keeps coming back to your court because the opposition defends very well and play very clean😂.
One is choker the other is clutch. The latter is GOAT Novak. 5,7 years gap means the same tennis generation. 15 years gap is something else. ;)
p.s. The only time Federer won in a Slam final vs. the GOAT was....... USO 2007 vs. baby teen Novak 🤣🤣🤣winning 2 out of 3 sets in TBs.🙃

The greatest empire to handle novak and roger
Umpire?
Djokovic >>>>>>> Federer
Super close
Roger lost this match due to his own poor break points conversions.. loosing focus in key points and not going for his shots..
His record was 10-21 against Djokovic since 2011. So when you say THIS MATCH you are assuming that he did so well the other 20 times he lost to Djokovic. I think there was a clear pattern to his play against Novak. Mainly, he lost most of the time. So don't make excuses for him.
@@lpr5269 what are you even yapping, no one's making an excuse.. hop off novak's meat
Roger Lost this match because Djokovic was superior 🤷🏻
Roger lost this match only because djokovic won more sets than him
That was immense by novak. This was one of most hostile crowds and he rose above all.
*DJOKER immortal G.O.A.T.!*
this should have been straight sets, to be honest.
Federer’s record against Djokovic was absolutely incredible. The fans were very pro Djokovic and also Federer said in an interview he had a bad night’s sleep as well before the final. Federer’s level was incredible. I wish he didn’t allow Djokovic to win this match.
H2H Federer is on the losing side. Fans were pro Djokovic? You must be blind or deaf.
"The fans were very pro Djokovic "
Sorry, are you healthy?
@@tehatte I thought they were very fair to both players. Djokovic got too much love from the crowd and it irked Federer . If the crowd was more pro Fed he would've won, simple as that
Could easily have been a great 5-setter match had Federer not wasted the third set.
Must've been edited by a federer fan.
Federer 145 points, djokovic 147 points 😢
How can failing to return service be called "unforced"? You try it.
Well it can, if you net the ball, or hit it long, Federer made many unforced errors, he's a professional, and had more slams than Novak, at this point, 17 slams, to 9- he should be the one, forcing errors from Novak!
Federer only lost this 3 sets in the entire tournament at 34 years old vs prime Djokovic amazing Feat.

Like many matches between these two federer was the better player, but couldnt get his chances.

What does that even mean? Federer was better but couldn’t get his chances? Fed just played sloppy with a ton of unforced errors. Got broken almost 10 times on his serve. The better player won
I never liked the grim look on Federer's face as if he hates his opponent.
Commenting was awful, those guys are Roger fans 💯
Federer s*** his pants- as usual. About 40 errors in this match, his backhand was way off, Novak just let him self destruct.
I watched this match live. As usual federer made some silly mistakes and mistakes on important occassions. As a federer supporter it was a disappointing day.
Is it just me and Novaks father in the world that doesn’t like Federer? Don’t judge me but is just the way it is. Sometimes even I don’t understand. I was just never a fan. And I also just loved when no one was going for Novak and he wins at the end. I can’t helped. I just love it !
The first two sets were terrible, both were so tight. Then Novak stepped up and Roger couldn't until it was too late.
