Just ordered this mic. It's currently $77 on Amazon. Seems like an incredible deal, sounds great compared to other mics in this price range. Plus it came with a stand, which was a necessity for me because I do not have a boom arm yet. Thank you for the videos, hope you have a great New Years!
There's a really weird bassy drone in your voice. Like the vocal track is duplicated and passed through a low pass filter. Is that the microphone, your voice or something in mix/software?
@@FrugalStreamer Thanks. I went ahead and bought it last weekend. I say it is most definitely the mic. It is terrible, and were it not for the fact that I only need it as a quick backup for a fully external aux audio system, I would have returned it. I mean, the build quality is fine, the software is good, it looks great and it "just works" so it passes the basics, but man, is that audio quality appalling. And it's not so much the audio quality itself as the EXTREME susceptiblilty to contact sounds (e.g. touching your desk when the mic is on it is almost a bass drum, let alone things like typing/mousing). I tried suspended the mic in a makeshift shockmount with a few rubber bands, and that almost entirely eliminated the problem. So my guess is what happens is my voice (and probably yours) makes my very hard/stiff desk surface resonate, which is transmitted just like a contact sound. You can remedy some of it by reducing the bass gain in the software, but it's a shame that a mic that pics up this much contact noise is mounted this stiffly with that solid stiff metal mount. So I think it's an OK microphone, but it is just built in a really dumb way for how the physical mic dynamics are configured :)
@AllyHollic Mine came with a lifetime license for Studio One 5 Artist (99 USD at the time) which was the price of the mic. That was before their subscription plan so I think the codes you may get are limited time subscription codes

@@FrugalStreamer Ah, that makes sense :)
This helped me with not getting the mic. It sounds very muddy
I bought it for Studio One
@@FrugalStreamer oh does it actually come with a copy I saw some interfaces that are like 69 bucks right now that come with it and I've been tempted
