  • This video takes a look at two John Deere X9 1000 combines with 16-row corn heads.
    They are also harvesting a yield trial, so taking a full width strip through the middle of each plot and then the second unit will clean up the strips left between each plot.
    On-farm field trial data is invaluable for determining either variety or fertility information.

      Seems alot of wasting valuable time that combine standing still unloading on the headlands, a combine should never stop once the headlands are done

      I agree - except the combine that was stopping at the end was harvesting test plots and they have to stop after each pass to get the exact weight of corn for each strip that they harvest. At the end of it all, they can compare yields of the strips and determine which corn variety or fertility program was the best - depending on the objective of each experiment.
