I've lived in different places in the world (like Stockholm and San Francisco) and Changsha feels both foreign and familiar in various ways. Everything looks beautiful. I would love to go there and try the food! I would not be able to properly blend in (because I'm not Asian and also I have red hair) so this video was a great way to experience what it would feel like to just be part of the crowd. I hope some day there'll be some kind of instant translator doohickey available so you can travel freely without language barriers...

I'm Chinese but only know a few very simple words. I go all over the use using Microsoft and google translator. So you cols do the same, they have offline translation and instant for many different languages Thinking back, that was reckless, I mean book my flight, hotel, etc with that phone, and didn't bring a backup, what happen if it is broken.
Because there is an army of city sanitation workers keeping it that way. They are just not often noticed by outsiders looking in. And the civic-mindedness of not littering with abandon is definitely ingrained into most Chinese urban folks these days.
Wow, wow and wow again! I'm speechless. More crowds than in Shanghai and all seem happy and disciplined. That's a place I want to be. Here in Germany it's too sad right now.

One reason the streets are safe in China is that during the evening everyone likes to go out shopping, eating, and meeting friends. Not just young people but families and the elderly as well. It creates a community enviroment that discourages, drunkenness and showing off that occurs when there are only crowds of young partygoers.

That's funny. The crowds in general seem clean, sober, ordinary family people... BUT then there's someone with orange hair, or a costume, or??? some lights... what we might call "crazy art girls" or "art students" or "skateboarders" seem to be here and there in the crowd. Man! It just kills me to think that you could go outside and maybe walk a half kilometer or so just to DECIDE what to eat.... I really envy these people.

No nation in the world is like China that rise and declined several times and now on the rise again. All the other nations that had risen to be the dominant nation and declined, never rise again.
"China has stood up!". It woke up in the mid 20th Century! It took a LONG TIME and a lot of work to build the plant to build the infrastructure to build the giant machines to make the materials to make what you see here! Also a bunch of education had to be done, the average lifespan doubled, little things like that! They were on this path in 1950, but starting from maybe below zero... no roads or rail to speak of, PLUS the wreckage of a war and civil war.... You can't just snap your fingers and build a titanic modern world.... The world can't really comprehend what it sees here: A government that does what it says it's going to do! Makes a long range plan for the general benefit, and sticks to it!

"China has stood up!". It woke up in the mid 20th Century! It took a LONG TIME and a lot of work to build the plant to build the infrastructure to build the giant machines to make the materials to make what you see here! Also a bunch of education had to be done, the average lifespan doubled, little things like that! They were on this path in 1950, but starting from maybe below zero... no roads or rail to speak of, PLUS the wreckage of a war and civil war.... You can't just snap your fingers and build a titanic modern world.... The world can't really comprehend what it sees here: A government that does what it says it's going to do! Makes a long range plan for the general benefit, and sticks to it!
