Not mentioned: the Kim Possible World Showcase mission, which later became the Agent P Mission. You reserved a time and location, got a cellphone, and used it to listen to instructions and activated small things that later helped defeat the villains. I did the Japan and Mexico one back when it was KP themed. You essentially followed clues, walked to a specific area. Then you pressed the button on your phone to make a small action happen, like activating a water fountain, and then later went to defeat the villain who was either an animatronic or sound clip.

+Andrew Weinstein - I never played the Kim Possible or Agent P games myself, but they certainly looked fun, and seemed to be an effective method of making World Showcase more interesting for kids.

I went there for the Kim Possible version. I didn't play it, though it was because it was surprisingly popular. The day my mom and I spent at Epcot I'd always see a kid with the striped down phone causing random effects. It was cute and I could see how it could add more interest which can be considered the adult park.

It's a deleted scene from the remake of "The Producers", reuniting the Lion King trio. I couldn't resist.

I'm sorry you didn't get to see Off-Kilter, a Scottish rock band. They did "Johnny B. Goode" at the show I saw and announced; "Now how could we possibly take this classic of American rock and roll and completely ruin it? WE ADDED BAGPIPES TO IT!!!"

I’ve been watching these because I’ve watched tony goldmark and theme snark and all their videos and I can’t rewatch because I’m kind of depressed but these videos are just as good

Too bad The Norway Pavilion at Epcot doesn't have a meet-and-greet with Thor and Loki

    • @doggans
      @doggans  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

And sadly, it probably never will, unless Universal relinquishes the east coast Marvel theme park rights.

    • @hamursh

If Westcot was approved Loki and Thor would be in the Norway pavilion.

11:36 I heard Figment wasn't as annoying in the early years of EPCOT. Can anyone confirm that?

    • @doggans
      @doggans  8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

That's what I've heard as well, and based on the footage I've seen, it seems to be true. Sadly, I never went to EPCOT in the non-annoying Figment days.

The Circle-Vision actually predates IMAX, but post CinemaScope. It was created for America the Beautiful, and also used on a now defunct time travel show with robots.

My thoughts from 2020 as someone who only went to WDW
Future World: kinda losing it's meaning with all the renovations but in a way, is trying to improve upon Epcot. Club Cool was fun but gone, Innoventions is gone, blah blah rides.
Spaceship Earth: I enjoy it but it's future is ironically up in the air right now since the loss of the Siemens sponsor. An update may be coming but no ground was broken. The ending is fun if you plan your picture like Jerk did in his video (which I replicate for humor, I always hate the future)
Mission Space: Flawed but fun, the update kinda downgraded it with the mars mission being intense only and having done the new mission, it's really dull.
Test Track: one of my favorite rides turned into one of my least favorites in one revamp. What you feel about Jack in Pirates is what I feel here. It's Test Tron now and is more about a meaningless competition where the ride does less with you than before. (I don't hate the competition, I can get close to the highest score of the day, but I don't care about my other passenger's scores, I'm not gonna brag to them or see them again, I know I'm better)
The Seas: Inside's cool, ride's lame except for the ending where the CG fish are swimming with real fish. As an alternative to the inefficient subs at DL( they're cool but they are terribly inefficient which is probably why we don't have it anymore), it's... passable. But I just walk through the gift shop to see the actual animals.
Turtle Talk: did it once, never again. it's interesting technologically but other than that... not much else.
Circle of Life: gone, I kinda miss it for my nostalgia for Lion King but it;s not a big blow.
Living with the Land: Interesting if you're into that sort of thing, which I am. But it's not something to go out of your way for.
Soarin': It's Soarin', of course it's great but Flight of Passage is better. The revamp is cool but I feel like it preys too much on jumpscares whereas the old version only had the golf ball.
Honey I Shrunk the audience: Don't miss it, enjoyed Captain EO ironically, want it back, now it's a short film attraction and with Disney Plus, don't need it.
Journey into Imagination: I want the original back. The beast must be less insufferable again.
World Showcase is awesome if you love Food and Culture. Which I do... mostly food. It's also cool that the cast members in each country are students from those countries as well.
    Mexico: Great food and atmosphere.
Gran Fiesta Tour: I think it's on it's way out... it's... alright but nothing great aside from the beginning which is reminiscent of Pirates at DL.
Norway: The Frozen Capital of WDW. It's decent but the ride is the main draw.
Maelstrom: Gone, miss it, Frozen's also good but I wish we could have both.
China: Decent food with a Mulan character spot. Never saw any travel logs.
Outpost: (AKA, the soon to be Africa Pavilion that will never be built, outside of Animal Kingdom, but no, they never built it for the bonus round of Is It Still There?)
Germany: Great food and trains, that's it.
Italy: Great Food and atmosphere, That's it
American Adventure: Quick food, turkey legs, funnel cakes and a decent show, that's it.
Japan: Great Food and Anime Shop, that's it.
Morocco: Good food and an Aladdin and Jasmine character spot, that's it.
France: Great Food, Character spots and new music with an instrumental of Topsy Turvy from Hunchback (Good to see it's getting attention still)
UK: Great Fish and Chips, stores and characters, that's it.
    Canada: Great Steakhouse, that's it.
BOOZE: Now at all parks in one place or another.
