Since Sorcerers is now closed and can't be played anymore, I'll spoil the ending. After defeating all the villains, you have to go into the Underworld (which for me tended to be Frontierland). Hades makes you fight Chernabog. Then you fight Hades. You get a final scene showing Hades trapped inside Merlin's reassembled crystal and the camera pulls back to reveal the Crystal is a Disney World snowglobe. If you go back the Main Street Firehouse, all the players get an extra pack of cards and the option to restart the game. If you restart, you can choose to stay on the default Easy or pick Medium or Hard.

Yeah, that's the official story. The Gottfried/Afflac thing was just a dumb semi-topical joke. Buuuuuuuuut if you want to get conspiratorial, isn't it interesting that the fire spared everything people liked about the original Tiki Room and only damaged the new management? :P

Alternatively, you can ask a cast member when initializing the game to choose one of the two higher difficulties (first introduces type weakness and makes the cards not one hit KOs, second randomizes the weakness and nerfs cards further).
I don't think Disney counts any of the TV shows or sequels as canon, so that's why Zurg isn't there. I mean if they did, Jafar would be dead, and He's alive when Hades reviewed them. Which annoys me a bit cause as bad as those sequels could get ignoring them just makes things more confusing. In the Ursula level I think she floods part of the park?? So maybe Triton gave Ariel her mermaid powers back temporarily? Just making up theories. T he best thing about SotMK is that Emperor's New Groove is acknowledged as a thing that exists. A lso, never got this far but at the end, Hades unleashes the Chernabog and you do battle with him and (spoilers) the villains get trapped in the crystal, like a snowglobe. Merlin assures us they'll be back though setting up the possibility for replays.
Re: Zurg, I'm guessing the actual reason there's no Tomorrowland level is more logistical than creative. There was probably a structural reason that Tomorrowland wasn't ideal to set up the video screen stations.

I'm surprised that you didn't mention that they gave some of the ghosts in the graveyard scene in HM new voices.

That makes sense. I don't recall a hard mode being offered when I played, so I either missed it or it was a later addition.
