I’m hoping that “rises“ of jeans will stop being a point of trend and people will just start wearing what Flatters their body. Instead we could focus on fit and color (wide leg, skinny, pleated, etc.) Personally, high-rise or high waisted pants flatter my body because I have thicker, short legs and a long torso- but I’ve definitely seen some women with very long legs and shorter torsos whose bodies aren’t flattered by high-rise very much. So low rise, mid rise should make a “come back”, for those bodies that it flatters!
I'm 5'3 and pear shaped but I hate high waisted jeans on myself - the widest point of my waist is quite a bit below my butt, which high waisted jeans highlight like crazy. I know i'm the only person on earth always looking for mid to low rise jeans, you're so right - we should just focus on what suits each of us!
@@teamene9034 I don't look good in high rise jeans either! You are not alone. =). I am 5'3 with a short torso and some curve to my hips. High rise jeans make my rear look awkwardly long and like my legs start under my bra line. The proportion is way off. I loved the low rise jean. Now that I am older I wouldn't wear them so low again. But, give me a good mid rise any day.
They’re good for people who have bloating/stomach issues/ileostomy, and when I was pregnant I could still wear my low rise jeans, but other than that - high rise all the way!!
I am with you on high rise jeans never going out of style! If low rise jeans come back, I'll just hang up my cap and resign myself to being unfashionable for the rest of my life.
Anna Smith I think it's much better to be unfashionable with flattering high-rise jeans than be fashionable but look bad with low-rise, I just can't stand the underwear peeking when I'm sitting with low-rise, it's uncomfortable and not very classy
My own silly tip for beanies: choose a color to bring out your eyes! I have dull blue eyes and, with my brown hair, it's so unmemorable. However, if I throw on my soft, medium blue beanie, I get compliments all day💙
I live in the Southern Hemisphere, so we’re in Spring right now going into Summer - yet, I still clicked on this video right away because Bethany’s advice is so versatile and a lot of these tips can apply for any season! Thanks for another great video!
I think layering helps a lot, when it really gets cold outside, I always wear long pants and a longsleeve top under my regular outfit (Uniqlo has this Heattech technology that‘s awesome) then of course wool sweaters, turtlenecks, etc. and under my wool coat I try to layer a blazer and a down coat, which you can‘t really see but keeps me warm. The down coat I have is also from Uniqlo, it‘s the Ultra light down, since it is enough for the winter in German. Hope this helps a bit.😊
Awesome! Fall/winter coming and you’ve given me great ideas to shop in my closets - I have a leather jacket from L&T and haven’t worn for years but can’t get rid of , now I’m so glad I still have it 👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏽🤎
Hi Bethany, there is something so soothing about your videos. I am not super petite but I do have shorter legs that can make it difficult for me to feel elegant when I try to dress up. Your videos are a big help. Also kudos on the video and sound quality. X
You don't have to be overthinking because chances are they probably won't gonna fit, and some pieces won't be able to physically last that long after years of wearing and cleaning
Losshe I have a wool coat and shirts that I have worn a lot for over a decade and they still look new. My leather bags will easily last another 40 years 😂 I see what you mean tho’.
SkiingIsMyHappyPlace Bliss you are definitely not too old for a leather jacket! Things can be changed so much depending on what you pair it with as well as you said 🙂
I'm trying to get away from fast fashion because its very unsustainable but also because I end up spending so much money trying to look trendy for a season. So this video is very helpful thank you! 💖🌟
Such a beautiful home! I have to go back in the video all the time cause I catch myself staring at your home instead of listening to the video... :) By the way, thanks for your videos. :)
omg I'm fond of this girl.. like srs her style is good for hijabi girls too.. my father don't lemme wear jeans but I can inspire from her cz she wears a lot large pants nd skirts ... thnk u so much
I'm feeling pretty good about my wardrobe after seeing this...I have pretty much all the essentials mentioned except for the biker leather! Love all your picks....they really are timeless!😊
Thanks for the help. Trying to be a tad more stylish (0 to 1.5😂), but overwhelmed with the trends. I think it is better for me to be timeless & have my own unique style & grab a trend here & there only if it fits my style. Trying to develop a color palette to help w/ decision fatigue (ps not much of a shopper😳) wanting to do browns, tans, cream, & shades of coral. Not sure how this is going to work, grays would probably be easier but warmer tones look better on me. I think your content will lead me in the right direction, subtlety towards style. 👍🏼
Your tips are always so helpful ♥️ Also, I’m so curious what your style is before you started your wardrobe journey. I’m interested to see a fun before/after looks 😁
As always - such an applicable video! Love your style and choices. My winter wardrobe is heavily impacted by you - thank you for the time and detail you put into everything!
I prefer a leather bomber style jacket over a biker jacket in either suede or smooth leather with less metal and in black or either in light or dark brown or tan.
New fan here 💜 I'm moving to a new country soon which has a very cold winter and I've been scrolling through all your winter videos the past few days x
Hi there ! I am mad for the blouse you are wearing. I'm not sure if I should order a 2 or a 4. I am am 5ft 0 in. 118 curvy like you but with a 32 DD bra .... 27 in waist and hips 38... thank you so much. 💓
You are beautiful and OMG your home! Your home is so beautiful I was hoping to see more of it on instagram but you post white background pictures. Is there any house tour videos or a website with photos of your home may be? I would love to see more. Love old houses!!!
Oh, Bethany, you are so cute...and so YOUNG! Biker jackets have been fashionable "...ever since Madonna wore hers in the 80s"? Some of us were wearing moto jackets before Madonna was BORN!
Love all your videos Bethany! I’m curious how your edit your clothes at the end of a season or when you need a closet clean out. How do you choose which to keep and which are out? And do you donate/sell/give away? Would be a great video! Thanks! Sending love from NYC.
When you show outfits with a jacket, consider modeling without the jacket so we can see the shape of the outfit, fit of pants (maybe stick fingers in some pockets so we can see the give of the denim), and then film putting on the jacket and grabbing your bag choice. ;)
Thanks so much! Would you maybe include in a future video some tips or resources for taking care of seasonal clothes? Maybe it could be a series? I have trouble knowing how to treat my items so they'll last as long as possible.
Funny, I wouldn’t have expected you to buy a leather jacket with all those eyelets, but fair play! 😏👉🏼 Also, I really want to wear hats in general but I’ve never found one that fits my small head 😢
If you're just looking for a plain knitted hat, some higher end sports brands have good quality kids hats in neutral colors that look identical to adult hats. Maybe could give those a try
5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟s for bringing to life "Beautiful Bad Ass Bethany"! I have a great motojacket with heavy zippers and lapeld and oddly Sphinx silver buttons acceny caps. Love it (not for winter in Canada but every other season). I like how Nashville is bringing out a hint (just a hint) of neo Goth and a bit of rock Goddess into your classic style. Xoxo from Cda. J👢👢👖🌹
Have you done a video about leather jackets and perfect fit? I bought a very expensive one last season and I love it but I fear I purchased it too small. Although I hear over time they stretch to fit one perfectly. I’d love to hear your thoughts..!
I just got the cashmere turtleneck from Everlane and experience that itchy feeling. I am not going to wear it until I get a patch test done at the dermatologist because people (especially those with ezcema) can be allergic to lanolin which is derived from wool. Really hoping I don’t fall into the category and that I can tough it out until the cashmere softens, but just in case I am allergic, I am not wearing yet in case I need to return
shinigamiknight I am a itchy person with wool for sure (which comes from a different animal than cashmere) and sometimes with cashmere as well. I always have to wear an under layer under any cashmere sweater. That usually keeps the itching away. Just thought I’d mention that in case it helps. I do so love the Everlane cashmere sweaters!
Dear Bethany, I have just found your channel and I really enjoy your videos. I almost ordered some of your outfits because it seems we have very similar body types but then I got worried that they would not fit. If it is not too much personal, could you share your approximate measurements so I can assess better whether your sizes would fit me. Thanks!
Hi Bethany, fellow petite girl over here! (5’1 to be exact!) I’ve thoroughly been enjoying your channel since this past summer, and couldn’t be happier to have found it. Your thoughtful vids and helpful tips really helped me to learn how to embrace and work with my postpartum figure, and reminded how I can keep things simple yet really flatter my body with certain techniques. It is so much appreciated! I was wondering if you might consider posting a video about dressing up for holiday dinners, parties and gatherings of sorts?? Thank you!

How long are your arms? I am petite, like you, and I have a terrible time finding a leather jacket with arms that fit me. With regular blazers, I can have it shortened, but not so easy with leather.
I'm 5'4 so I normally tend to go for coats that reach a little below or at my knee. I normally get my coats taken in by an inch so that it gives me a nice silhouette as well but that's just a personal preference. I normally pair it up with a small block heel boot or sometimes sneakers that give me a height of an inch or so. I hope this helped :)
Eh, unfortunately it's too cold where I live so all those options are cute, but would've given me frostbite lol. I mean, I get cold even in mountain-climbing winter clothes so
I always enjoy your videos! I live in Colorado and the weather gets crazy sometimes but is mostly just cold. The boots from the thumbnail... where are those from? 😫 and I’m getting the jeans too! Thank you for your videos. You are the best!
What would be the difference between a trench coat and a topcoat/overcoat? Like what would make the first wool coat that you showed a trench vs the ones in the pictures?

Agreed! Low/mid rise can be good for accommodating medical conditions as well. Bring back more options!
@@scoriodes major bloating :(
I just hope low rise jeans never become a hype again!
I dislike them a lot
Well they might look good on some shape.. but yeah.. I don't like them on me
Gosh me too

It looks good on me 🤭🤭
Can you do a “how to wear dresses in the winter” video?! I’ve seen a few this year but that so many people yet 👍🏽

I'm from paris and you really dress like parisian girls it's impressive

Same, bloody hot here in Australia and I'm watching this! And that's right, all advices are versatile :)
LOVE this. Your style is so beautiful. And many people don’t know that investing in good pieces actually saves money if you do it right. 👌👌👌
Could you make a video on how you wash and take care of your clothes???
Was just going to ask the same :)
Yes, particularly during winter.
I love that you have birds chirping in the background instead of music. 💜
Can you do a “how to look chic in heavy winter”? I live in Chicago and down coats are a must but they look so ugly to me :(
I really wish for a video like that too! I have been browsing pinterest, but all winteroutfits look like early fall outfits to me 😅
