- hello there this is grantham morrissons clock issac newton centre clock another lion on but a apple tree clock no monkeys this one is near lincolnshire hope you enjoye this video good luck from stuart mills smaller than the one in blackburn morrisons you dont find many of these clocks no not very often no the lion clock in grantham is a slower movement in the lions head eyes but slimer thiner to visit a lovley clock to see yes
is no-one else terrified by this clock? i can barely even walk under it and the blackburn one is even worse :(
Yeah my gran used to take me to the Blackburn Morrison’s when I was a kid and I was terrified of being in the shop on the hour because it was so scary when it went off - that head turn!!
Anyone know anything about this clock? Who made it? When it was placed there? I know there is another lion clock in blackburn at another morrisons but they seem to be the only 2 in the country.
The shopping centre here is called the "Isaac Newton Centre" named after the famous Issac Newton, who was educated in Grantham, and lived at the nearby Woolsthorpe manor. The clock has been here ever since the shopping centre was built in 1984 and is quite sentimental to alot of Grantham people.
Ours in Blackburn has a lion who opens and closes his eyes and 2 monkeys who ring the bells with their feet when they swing from a palm tree. And yes, I do believe that there are only 2 in the country!
Yeah I understand the one in my town represents Isaac Newton. I just wonder why there is only two of these clocks in the country. Since they are both outside a morrisons it must have some connection to the shop but there is no information about them building them.
Ours in Blackburn is inside the Morrisons, not outside of it.
